Great food, great value, service a bit slow but food arrived fast once ordered. Would recommend!
One guy serving all tables. Felt sorry for him. And for me.
Table was ready few minutes after our arrival, waiters super friendly and welcoming. Fast service and good food, the waiter were checking on us constantly to see if everything was good. Pasta cacio e pepe and tiramisu were our favourites!!! I like that you can see the kitchen working there and the ambient is cosy and warm.
COVID restrictions meant we were on a small table to the side of the restaurant, but the food was great and the waiter Lindy helped with suggestions.
Exquisite. A fantastic easting experience. Would recommend
Really lovely find. I’m a big pasta fan and this place ticks all the boxes.
The service was great! Super friendly and attentive. The food was really good but could have been hotter.
Great sister restaurant to Zia Lucia next door. All pastas were delicious. Sad to see the melted cheese with onion they had before had been removed from the menu but still delicious evening.
If it was for the food only, Berto was a very good place to go to. Portions are generous and the pasta is cooked to perfection. The slightly sluggish service and sterile atmosphere take away from the fun though.
Excellent all round yet again.
Excellent new pasta restaurant from the same stable as pizzaria, Zia Lucia. Wonderful food and great value for money at this buzzy location on Holloway Road. Definitely coming back!
The service was quick but having debated between whether to go to Berto or Zia Lucia next door we decided on Berto.
The food came out quickly and was reasonably priced but the portions were small (we went to Zia Lucia after as we were still hungry and a little disappointed). The pasta was nothing special, the spaghetti seemed more like soba noodles and the staff didn’t seem too Interested to be there or help even though it was pretty quiet. The restaurant was also really cold.
Appreciate it’s a new business and probably still working out the kinks but small things like only serving the wine we wanted by the bottle with only one white option by the glass was a bit frustrating.
Perhaps disappointment was from such high expectations set by Zia Lucia (same company) which is fantastic. For a restaurant serving only pasta I was underwhelmed by what we were served.
Wish them all the best for the future and hope the kinks get worked out as the place and the concept has good potential.
Phenomenal
They are unable to cater for people who suffer with nut allergies- a real shame.
Great pasta and a nice ambience. Staff were friendly.
Amazing food everything is so fresh and at decent prices. Only recommendation I would make is for tables near the windows if heating can be added/or drapes to keep people warm when seated there. Other than that would definitely be back!
Friendly and efficient service. Yummy food
Very average food and disinterested service. My pasta was lukewarm. We had booked a table but we asked to move to accommodate a large group without a booking. Not a problem but could have been handled with a bit more charm.
Pasta nothing special. My partner had rabbit ragu which was a bit more interesting at least. Fritti mixed vegetables were overly chunky and needed aioli to counterbalance the stodge. Wine and salami were supermarket quality, no better.
We won’t be back. Super average and the service was totally disengaged. I understand this is a spin-off of the pizza place next door which was packed so possibly worth trying. There are a lot of more interesting Italian places in London to try before this place though.
