"It is most certainly a gourmet establishment with a menu from top to bottom that is exquisitely creative with tastes and flavors and choices that make selections so joyously difficult--and with a wine list to match food and pocketbook. Consider this the now best Italian restaurant in the state. Three cheers for Biagio the chef."
"Concealed jewel, but easily accessible off the parkway. Esteemed staff that goes about taking care of your every need, especially the maitre d'. Exceptional menu with meals that make you crave for more. The homemade pasta dishes are unequaled to any place in the state. This is an elite restaurant that I will entertain my family and my business clients at. Head chef will go above and beyond his means for satisfaction of customer."
One of the best (if not the best) Italian restaurants in the New Haven/Fairfield County area. Easily the best restaurant in Stratford for sure. We had one of everything and split - salad (pear and warm goat cheese), appetizer (broccoli rabe and sausage), pasta (duck ravioli) and entree (veal scallopini with cherry tomatoes and spinach over risoto). Everything was very well prepared and fresh. No weak sisters in any of the dishes. It was more than enough for two splitting like this with generous portions. The wine list is expansive with many great selections under $50. Great value overall which means we will be back again. We've tried comparable Italian places in Bridgeport and Milford and this is now our new #1.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Close by too!! a hidden little gem
The food is consistently delicious, and either staff are quick, nice and through! We loved our dining experience here. We can't wait to go again!
The kindness and service was excellent. The Italian gentleman was outstanding.
Going on a Sunday night was the right choice. It wasn’t crowded and the service was attentive. Food was outstanding.
Both food and service were excellent. Very attentive to our party of 6. Will definitely return.
The food was excellent, highly recommend. Never disappointed.
The only thing is the windows in the waiting area need shades or tint. People waiting can look at you eating.
Quality food at a reasonable/appropriate price. Wine list provide a good range of options at fair prices. Overall very enjoyable experience and expect to return in the future.
Always a wonderful experience and delicious meal!
Food was amazing. Service was extremely slow. Needed more servers for the amount f people eating. Felt like they threw in extra tables where they could just for the evening.
One of our family favorites! Chef Barone is always accommodating and the food is delicious! Biagio’s is a hidden gem in town and we highly recommend!
Took a ride from NJ to CT to see our daughter in college. I wanted a very nice place to take her to for Valentine’s Day.
2 time there and I will be back. Food was well prepared and presented beautifully with a lot of love an attention to detail.
Hi. I''ve been to Bioagios oh, about 3 times past years and always enjoyed time at Biagios. This past time, I had Rib eye and Steak was Tough. Steak was very chewy. Med Rare. My Friend had the Lamb Shank. She raved over the Lamp Shank. We had Wild boar roll. Which, was ok. Nothing to Rave about. Could of been few more purple potatoes with the steak. I didn't complain about the steak. Cause didn't want to ruin nice evening with Good Friend who I hadn't seen for a long time and She really liked the lamp shank. I didn't want to damped good Vibes. Next time. I'll order a Fish or Pasta dish. I took steak home. I and my friend would recommend Biagios to others. I'll just not recommend having Steak. Regards. Stan
First time sitting at a high table in the bar. We were waited on by a lovely friendly bartender. We have never had a bad experience at this restaurant, and though we live a fairly good distance away, we always try to stop in when we can.
Food was very good. Calamari a bit chewy. Entrees were excellent. The clipboard menus are clumsy and difficult to use. The room was often very cold due to door being left open. Stone floor made room very noisy.
Birthday dinner always excellent at Biagio’s
Please arrange to send the gift certificate I receive each year for my birthday BEFORE my birthday. My birthday is Feb. 3 and the monthly certificates never arrive before the first day of the month. Never in time to use for my special birthday dinner.
Snow White Cosmo great! Pera appetizer was excellent as always, swordfish delicious but ditch the black spaghetti - hip but creepy!
Restaurant was noisy but bearable, service (although waiter was very attentive and pleasant) between courses was somewhat slow. Chocolate Raspberry creme brulee was served with an unripe (with white on it) strawberry. Would have expected a couple raspberries. Not up to to par for $8. Overall we enjoyed our dinners and will be back.
Great cozy location, service is so good and the food is incredible. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for a great meal!!
Great food and service.
Food is consistently good. Calamari was tender, Caesar salad is presented beautifully, butternut squash ravioli was in a heavenly sauce, and bread pudding was insanely good! Service is always attentive and friendly. I highly recommend Biagio’s for your next night out!
A regular midway point for friends’ visit. Food, service, ambience reliable and very good.
Always a fantastic meal accompanied by attentive service. Great value
Only problem/issue was for a table for 2, sat RIGHT NEXT TO another party of two … like we were dining with them. Would have liked a bit more separation.
One of our favorite restaurants! Food and staff are continuously superb!
Portions are huge. It was a birthday dinner for me and I've wanted to go here for a few years. Overall, 5*. This is a well oiled machine and we will be back.
Starters: Started with the lobster bisque and puff pastry. This is more of a lobster stew with how much lobster is in it. This is a meal in itself. My husband had the brussel sprout tower which was light but also filling.
Entree: I had the seabass. It was excellent. I wasn't a fan of the mashed potatoes under it...polenta would have been better, but portion was large and I took the rest home. My husband had veal a la biagio I think. He said it was amazing and he also brought it home.
Dessert: we were both beyond full but wanted to try a dessert. We had the melting chocolate sphere. It was good, although how it opens and presents, in my opinion, was better than the actual taste. Might have just been that we were full.
Drinks: we both had the special martini which was delicious. I had a glass of wine with dinner, also excellent. Cappuccino was on point and rock candy stirrer was a nice touch.
Service: 500 stars. We never wanted for anything.
Biagio's always excels and impresses every time we dine there. You always feel like family and can expect the unexpected for different and delicious cuisine you wont see anywhere else.
This was one of our "goto" restaurants. Went there recently and ordered a seafood dish. One clam was completely filled with mud and no one seemed to care.
New Years with Friends
Tried to sit us at their “best” table which was in the bar next to restroom. Waited and were seated in the glass room - much better. Made the reservation in early December and was not going to sit next to restroom. Food was good but the chocolate soufflé was a chocolate lava cake so we sent them back. Other than that service good, entrees and apps were very good!
Great food and drink with average service level
Always consistently good
The poor service really overshadowed the good food. The restaurant was not that busy yet our waiter always seemed rushed.
Great meal, local feel. Love the pear salad.
Feast of the seven fishes was outstanding!!!! Marco, our server was wonderful, warm, and made us feel welcome on a busy night. I can't wait to return!
Food was very good. Wait staff was very attentive. My only negative, it was extremely noisy. We were at a table for 2 and we could hardly hear each other. That being said, I’ll definitely be back. I’ve never been disappointed at Biagio’s.
Reunion of friends
We were recommended to Biagio’s by a family member who frequents it quite often and we were impressed! Great food great ambiance. If you like lobster bisque, you must get it! It is unique and very tasty. We really can’t complain about much here. The bar could be a bit better and offering some New World wines would be great. Definitely go!
Excellent lunch menu. Quiet day so service was quick.
