Bill's Restaurant & Bar - Bury St Edmunds
Staff friendly and service was okay.
Found offer very fair “good times”
The more the merrier
A good meal in challenging circumstances, the restuarnt team had no internet, so no tills or music, etc but coped admirably. Beer is expensive and only in small bottles, def need a draught ale, but always a pleasant experience.
Not as expected according to website.
Ambience not as expected, considering dress code indicated. Maybe different for evening dining.
Another amazing bills brunch, it’s mine and my boyfriends monthly treat! Thank you bury xx
We had a lovely meal. We both had calamari to start which was delicious and not at all rubbery. My sea bass fillet was cooked to perfection. Service was good, waiting staff were really polite and efficient.
The presentation was exceptional . The first class creative dessert I chose was worthy of Masterchef class . I would be happy to recommend this
Food menu limited, shouldn’t advertise ‘set menu’ on billboard outside when its not available.
Staff couldn’t be better.
Really lovey food and good service, good menu choice too
Way over priced, food was warm and not hot, and the portions were very small for the amount of money they cost, I wouldn't hurry back that's for sure.
Good food, portion size just right
Would recommend to friends
Food was average to good for a chain restaurant. Our party sat in front section of restaurant so lacked the atmosphere of the rear section. Unfortunately our waitress for the evening had a lacklustre personality which slightly made our visit less enjoyable. Having said that we did have a jolly evening there!
Food was hot and nicely presented but I felt the menu lacked imagination. I struggled to chose and was disappointed with the salsa that came with my sea bass. It definitely wasn’t freshly made and just tasted as it looked, mushy.
Staff were great, very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy enough but I wonder how long we’d have waited if they’d been full. Even though there weren’t lots of tables taken we all seemed to be put on adjacent tables which seemed strange given the current requirements around social distancing.
We’d not been to a Bill’s for sometime but I don’t think we’ll be going again soon.
Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends outside, excellent food and excellent service throughout the evening
Service was quite slow given the low numbers of diners at the time
Lovely food , great atmosphere. Great non alcoholic fruity coctails. Charming staff too!
Such an amazing experience. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Overall very good dining experience, food was excellent.
Only minor issue with the service is as having to remind the waiter of an order for sides which didn’t come out with the rest of the food, otherwise good.
Very good children’s menu and portions too.
Good food, beautiful decor and best covid rules I've seen so far while dining out. Food is very well presented and was all delicious.
Excellent choice, food quality with exceptional and friendly service.
Staff were friendly, efficient and followed covid rules to the letter, we felt safe, the surroundings followed the industrial type theme, seating comfortable, due to the decor noise levels got quite high at times, my food was served hot and was well presented and had flavour. Will suit millennial generation.
Lovely fish pie and got Parmesan too on top. Lots of cheese !!!
Fancied a meal on a Tuesday night last minute. Booked a table for 19:30 no problem. Excellent service throughout the meal. The food really good, all three courses came out at exactly the right time. Well cooked and presented.
Staff attentive without being overbearing. Atmosphere quiet and relaxing.
Would definitely go again.
As expected from a Bills ,quirky good ambience, good food and great service
We had a great late lunch with our lovely Auntie. We all agreed the food was very tasty with quite an extensive menu. We had a lovely waitress, wish I had taken her name, who was very polite, helpful and attentive. Looking forward to returning there soon.
We had the best time, I think we can say our server was the best we’ve had for a long time. So thank you to her💪
Nothing majorly wrong with our experience however I would say the food and service was average. A drink was spilt on our table which was an accident and we were given a free drink however I would say the staff seemed inexperienced. Talking about wanting to finish work already and go home is off putting for customers sorting down eating lunch.
I would highly recommend going to Bills for Brunch. A great range of options, excellent value for money, friendly service any delicious food. Will be returning in the future.
Lovely food with attentive staff. Would highly recommend.
Nice outside eating area but marred by cigarette buts in plants due to lack of ashtrays.
Lovely place, friendly staff, freshly prepare food
Nice lunch and setting, would recommend, friendly staff
Good friendly service matched by excellent food.
Our first return visit after COVID and they have addressed all the issues
Love bills. The staff were so friendly!
Everything felt safe with covid. The food was perfect and came out nice and quick.
Very slow service. Was sitting waiting to be asked for our drinks for around half hour and then the food took over an hour to come out. Food was pretty cold and pretty disappointing for a birthday meal out!
We love coming here however if you come on a Fri night be prepared that it is busy, waiting staff are rushing, and it may not be as chilled and cool as at other times. Or maybe you prefer that? It’s a great place - food is good - lots of nice veggie options and staff are lovely.
Staff were polite and caring.
Not too much wait for food.
Price was reasonable.
My only gripe I had large Olives as a starter, would have been nice to have had a little bit of bread with it, also Olives or the vinegar were spicy, which almost put me of eating them.
Service was great! Unfortunately let down by the main courses. Chips with 4/5 were cold and chewy, sent back, came back chewy again. Replaced for a 3rd time, hot! Cauliflower salad was dry, tiny amount of yogurt dressing, no red cabbage as described in the menu.
Cocktails were okay. Mixed drinks good but very expensive. Deserts were the highlight, staff made a real effort for the birthday girl. Really great staff and lovely decoration but very expensive for the quality and the mains were subpar unfortunately.
This was my first time as Bills and I won’t be rushing back.
Our drinks took 20 minutes to arrive when there were only 2 other tables seated in the whole restaurant at the time. Added to this I was given a dirty glass. There was food on the floor under our table and the food we were served was mediocre at best.
I found it strange that in the current times of social distancing we were put in between 2 other occupied tables and when another couple arrived they were out behind us.
We went for our daughters 17th birthday. In the remarks (which asked if you were celebrating anything) I did say this and asked if they do anything for birthdays if they could please do. Another table was decorated with balloons and banner but nothing on ours.
Staff very good. Polite And efficient food not brilliant we had fish and chips did not taste freshly cooked although we were assured it was
Overall the food was tastefull the only problem it wasn't very hot
