Bill's Restaurant & Bar - Bury St Edmunds
Enjoyed the night out. Good service! Good food! Delivered in a timely manner.
Disappointed to see dogs were allowed in.
Very good value for money though.
Will not go again due to being dog friendly
Quite busy so glad we booked, good atmosphere and service, lovely food - a great place to meet up , relax and enjoy good conversation.
Great service, friendly staff. A wide menu choice at reasonable price and super tasty! Would definitely eat here again.
Sunday evening and nicely busy. Two meals very good (Steak and egg) and beetroot and goats cheese (a bit small) but two steaks undercooked and very tough.
Great Friday night meal..had the Fish pie which was excellent, would recommend Bills
A lovely restaurant. Great service and good food. Drinks a little pricey. Staff friendly and attentive.
Absolutely lovely vegan breakfast!! Would recommend!
Quick table service. Attentive staff. Overall experience excellent.
Lovely food thanks and served by a young waiter who was very polite and attentive
My partner and myself had never eaten at Bill's in Bury St Edmunds before, although my daughter had - and enjoyed the whole experience.
After our experience on sunday evening - we would agree with her, very relaxed atmosphere, very good waiter that also made us smile and very tasty food. There were four of us in our party, we all had something different and all commented on how flavoursome and nicely cooked the good quality food was... I have already recommended Bill's to my work collegues.....Thank you
In a cold and very rainswept night the welcome we received was equally as cold! It seemed to us, a booked table of four that the staff and their general duties were more important than the diners. Just a general lack of regard by most we encountered. Delays in drink orders, and offers not honoured that were advertised. Confusing menus which often didn’t actually support what was available. When food did arrive, this was the plus point. Tasty and enjoyable despite us all being cold.
Overall, it was a highly disappointing night. Our spend in the two hours present was £140 and I think probably would have represented reasonable value had the warmth and attention of all staff been what we believe would have been reasonable.
They were very busy and had to find us a table even though we had booked. Manager saw us to a round table for five but only four of us and didn’t even reset for four. So had to do it ourselves. !
Had to wait a long time for food was apologised twice saying both times it would be ten minutes. When the food did come the fish pie was not cooked properly and had to be sent back to the kitchen for a replacement as prawns were not cooked. The did not charge us for the fish pie and gave us a round of drink, but only when we asked!! Disappointed as we love Bills normally.
No fish pie available. Steak ordered rare but was cold + had to ask for steak knife .Bottle beer expensive . Music loud and had to request it to be turned down so we could hear + hold a conversation
The food was undercooked, the beer was the most vile thing ever and flies zooming around your plate whilst trying to eat is extremely unpleasant
We absolutely loved our lunch visit to Bill’s in Burt St Edmunds on Saturday!
From the excellent, lovely friendly welcome to us booking breakfast for next Saturday and everything in between!!
The whole member of staff from manager down to waiting staff were unbelievably friendly and attentive when required!
The food was delicious, we shared the feta/avacado nachos and had buttermilk chicken and Korean chicken burgers ~ SCRUMMY!!!!!
Superb choice of wines also.
I shared a laugh in the ladies toilets, where a lady was taking a photo of the pictures for her daughter!!
We are thoroughly looking forward to returning next Saturday!!
Music was slightly too loud, overall I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere
had a very nice meal with good service and very friendly and willing staff.
Great service lovely food. How wonderful to be able to dine out again.
We will definitely be returning.
Generally the food was OK - the "tender stem" broccoli was not tender. Portions not generous. Service quick and efficient rather than warm and welcoming.
We had plenty of choice as to where to sit in the very nicely decorated restaurant, and were attended to by very pleasant staff, My meal of steak and eggs was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, and the bill for all of us was very reasonable. I will come here again and again.
We chose Bills since one of us had been to other resteurants in the chain before. The food and drinks were good and were served promptly. The portions were not too large.
The staff were welcoming and helpful.
10/10 brunch as always!
Great food, service and ambiance
Felt like we were rushed to order and rushed to leave even though the restaurant was quiet.
The portion of breakfast was not good value, it was deceived as the brunch and was £14 but had one sausage, one bacon, like a tablespoon of beans…not great.
The restaurant itself is brilliant though, love the decor and the atmosphere, just wouldn’t have breakfast there again
Very enjoyable evening. Decor and style provides great atmosphere.
Food menu quite varied and food itself very nice.
Very attentive staff.
Could have done with more time between courses . Main course came instantly after starter finished which felt a bit rushed.
Saturday night booked table , was met and seated immediately. Staff were very friendly but not really knowledgeable about the food being served I.e. is the dish spicy etc. Food was served promptly and was good value for money especially when drinks are included with a main meal.
Good value and service.
Good value meal with free drinks - excellent service and good food
Fantastic restaurant with a great welcome and positive engagement, great food and service that was spot on and not pushy.
The gorgeous nicki a vision of beauty and politeness,,, wow..
A thoroughly awful experience.
Service.Over an hour between courses.
Food .Disgusting in every way.
Good quality food. Pleasant attentive staff. Nice environment
Staff were outstanding even though short staffed, so helpful
I want to start by saying I LOVE Bill’s the food is always fantastic and service is normally great.
Last night however I was left very disappointed.
The food was as incredible as ever however every single waitress did NOT look like they wanted to be there, there wasn’t a single positive interaction.
Secondly we were almost “forgot” about consistently.
I was so frustrated by the service that I had to remove the optional service charge as it was so sub-par.
Will of course visit again however last night was incredibly frustrating.
Well, we had booked a table for 5 45 as we were going to see a show at the Apex at 7 30. Plenty of time you would think........ We arrived 5 mins before our booking and were promptly shown to our table and quickly had our full order of starters mains and drinks taken. At 10 past 6 we hadn't received our drinks or starters so waited a bit longer...... at 20 past 6 having seen other tables that had arrived after us getting their orders I asked about our order. The lady called Kayleigh soon discovered that our whole order had not been given in at all !!!!!!! She offered to place it then but it was too late to then have it cooked and eat what should have been a chilled evening meal, not a fast food experience. Kayleigh was very apologetic and offered to sort us something out for another time. We then had to find somewhere else at very short notice :(
Great place to eat. As it was early evening it was not too busy
Excellent, Friendly service
We love this restaurant and always choose something different, we are never diss appointed and the staff are always so helpful and lovely !!
Made a last minute booking for 6 adults and a baby and we were accommodated. Greeted by friendly staff and our waitress was very good and attentive.
The food was also good and the “good times” drink deal was excellent
We were meeting some friends, we were travelling in from Norfolk and they were travelling from the opposite direction. Bill's seemed a good choice and we were happy with our evening. We didn't feel pushed to leave. Friendly feeling
Anniversary lunch including three year old grandson, very quite booked for 1pm.Food arrived after about 30mins no problem we were talking.Food was very nice hot and tasty.Only one dessert ordered and did seem to take rather long time restaurant by then almost empty.Staff cheerful and helpful. Will return.
Food wasn’t good, was left waiting for a long time got charged for a bottle of Prosecco when I didn’t order any overall not bad but wasn’t a good experience in my opinion
