Skewers were amazing, had beef for main. Only criticism is that it cane with hardly any winter veggies and no mash or side .
We have found that we can always rely on Bill's for good quality food whatever we order, including a good range of vegetarian options
Lovely service & atmosphere was fab - cute little pub type place. Food was overpriced for what it was though.
Very nice and felt very safe and relaxed . Lovely food and lovely service
Food good . Staff friendly. however 3 requests for tap water despite water glasses on table , soft drinks served first. Black coffee full cup please if machine doesnt do a full cup add hot water or use a smaller cup.
Covid -why bother taking my temperature (no scientific evidence) and then take spare glasses cuterly napkkns from table after we have sat down and put in pile to be used at nxt service. Table booked for 4 people bug set for 6.
Lampshades low and hit my head ( not tall).
Bills chosen by default and certainly would b last choice in future.
Very pleasant brunch. Friendly service. Very good quality. Lovely location
Really delicious and timely breakfast, perfect poached eggs and lovely attentive service!
First visit to a Bills restaurant. Disappointed to be sat at table closest to front door being winter it was very cold so had to leave costs on. Worst seat for enjoyable meal out.
The food we ordered was quite bland in comparison to similar food in other restaurants we have experienced. Can a risky make taster food at home ourselves.
Very disappointing experience overall. Will not be returning.
It was really quiet when I visited but the girl who served me forgot I asked for extra syrup and the pancakes were very dry. I then ordered toast but this also took ages to come. The waitress was very apologetic though and did not put the cold toast on the bill which I was grateful for
Very nice afternoon out at Bill's. Service very good.
Got to the booking on time and was turned away as the chef had left and the restaurant had closed even though I had made the booking for that day.
Don’t go here if you’re expecting to be looked after throughout your dining experience. I went for an early birthday lunch with my 3 daughters and my expectations were quite high, having read the online menu and also hearing from others who had been there. No-one bothered checking if our food was ok (we had 3 courses). Some dishes were quite nice (nothing special really), whereas others were bland and boring e.g. my starter: tuna tacos. The service was extremely slow and if it was busy I would have understood, but it wasn’t. There was a discretionary service charge applied, but because of my disappointment I had it removed. I refuse to pay almost £12 for poor service! Honestly, for anyone looking for a nice meal and good service in the Bay, there are plenty of better options e.g. The Cosy Club.
Booked in here for a xmas lunch with my partner and her mother. The staff, and service you could not fault, and the restaurant was clean, nice, and observing all the covid rules. The starters were excellent, 2 soups, and halloumi with a dip. The mains were nice, 2 mac and cheese with pigs in blankets, and 1 pan fried sea bass. Main problem was far too much greenery with the meals! Maybe a tomato, or some chopped peppers to give it a little colour, and cut down on the green! Otherwise very nice, if a little expensive, (£4 for 4 small pieces of garlic bread, and £3.85 for 6 olives)!
I visit bills every week and I have always enjoyed my time there ,however this Tuesday was very disappointing I feel familiarity breeds contempt.my steak was undercooked they replaced it with the same undercooked steak (I asked for medium rare) it was blue and cold the service was rushed we had three courses in 1.15 minutes I asked the waitress to give us 5 minutes but she hurried us and told other customers in the restaurant to take there time we even had our bill before asking for it .I will not be going back to bills for a very long time, which is a pity.
Felt rushed the entire time to eat and get out as quickly as possible by staff.
Social distancing extremely poor.
Me and my partner have been to bills multiple times since living in Cardiff bay. We always receive good service and good food!
Really nice place, staff are friendly. Love the checkback but plate could have been warmer
Breakfast with our sons
Great food, good value. Ideal place for a casual brunch or lunch
Food was nice and staff were very helpful. Felt reassured that they were implementing covid precautions well.
We are a big fan of bill’s & we had a very pleasant experience as usual
Food was alright. Service was alright. Price was alright. Whole experience was just alright!
Food was lovely, service and staff were amazing. Would definitely recommend a visit.
It was a bit noisy the day we went. There was a table of women with one in particular had a very loud laugh. But nobody's fault. Didn't stop our enjoyment of our meal which was lovely and the staff brilliant
Service was good and food was nice but around an hour after eating the brunch both my girlfriends and my stomach starting hurting. It’s all we ate all day and ended up throwing it all up 3 hours later. I won’t go into more detail…but it’s not what we expect when dining anywhere, let alone an establishment as respectful as Bill’s.
Great service and food as usual at Bill's yesterday. Keep up the good work.
Staff were lovely. Food was great. Felt safe. Wasn’t overcrowded. Great protocols in place.
Will definitely be going back.
Nice friendly service, great location, very tasty food but a bit expensive. Monday to Wednesday's are the best times.
Felt very safe on our visit today. Temperature check on arrival, socially distanced from other diners. Food was lovely as usual and staff were awesome. Thanks
After booking on line, and being a table of more than 4, there was nothing on line stating that we needed proof of address. We were lucky to have two seperate tables and the staff were great.
Did spoil the evening for us.
Very disappointed with my visit to Bills in the bay on Saturday.
I had taken my boyfriend out for lunch for his birthday and had selected birthday on the booking. I was told there would be a plate with happy birthday written out and a cake etc. This did not happen.
Further to this the desert ‘warm brownie’ was stone cold.
The waiters were all polite and nice but apart from that, not a great experience and I wouldn’t return unfortunately.
It was a lovely brunch, but a little cold as we were seated near the door.
Pretty standard , a bit overpriced for food and a glass of wine £7 !!
very tasty food served by happy friendly staff. Lovely setting and dog friendly which is a huge plus for me.
The staff were amazing! So attentive. Really cared about the experience they were creating for us. Food was... okay. Just okay. We've dined here a number of times and the food has always been better. Having said that, we had a great evening, made so by the lovely team members that served us.
Everything was lovely.....except for a very young baby screaming for at least an hour, at 8.30-9pm at night...right behind us. I have had babies, but I don't think I would take them out to a restaurant at that time of night. It didn't ruin our evening, but I have hearing issues so couldn't hear my husband spk, so had to try and lip read him. Food was lovely as was the service but a bit shocked at the price of a very small glass of Prosecco. Most places at least give you a flute and fill it nearer to the top. Would visit again though.
Steak tasteless and tough. Salad past Sell-by, brown on edges. Chips ok, small portion. Burger overcooked, hard on edges. Very overpriced for poor quality meal.
Enjoyed the meal although my husband said it was't as nice as when we have been previously; he had the fish pie which was a bit dry.
Didn't get to dessert as a group arrived with a dog during our mains. I have dog allergies and could feel my throat / noise starting to tickle. I also felt uncomfortable that the waiting staff were fussing over the dog and then serving / clearing our table. Given this we did not stay for dessert.
Our main took over an hour to come out from the kitchen as had been 'lost'...our waitress was lovely and apologetic about it to be fair to her. However meant we ate our meal very late at 22:00. Asked to take the 12.5% service charge off for this reason. The food and wine were tasty.
Really friendly staff and welcoming.
Covid safe - including temperature check.
Superb food from the festive menu.
Drink choices - a good alternative offered to Jack Daniels.
Very enjoyable experience for husband’s birthday, fitted in before our next Covid restriction starts!
Many thanks.
