Welcoming and friendly staff. Good choice of food and varied menu catering for all allergies.
Will definitely return.
Booked for Sunday breakfast. It was busy, I expect a slight delay for food. We waited for an hour. Once it arrived everything was cold. We told the server who said “yes this happens every Sunday. We get too busy at once and we can’t handle the numbers. We will take some coffees off the bill.”
So then don’t allow so many people in if you can’t cater properly. Taking peoples money knowing you’re going to let them down is a terrible business practice and we won’t be returning.
Nice, child friendly environment with excellent staff.
Great food and service. Thanks
Disappointed that the Fish Pie was not available. Poor planning?
The alternatives we selected were very enjoyable, though my wife would not have chosen the Tuna starter had she know it was raw.
Alex was very helpful, efficient and friendly.
Perfect Sunday brunch, the service was excellent!
Excellent breakfast even after I sought changes! Tricky to find for a non-local
We had 2 waiters and they were both lovely and really helpful.
Only 2 vegetarian main courses on the new reduced menu bugger or mac cheese. Was offered the option of changing a chicken salad to a broccoli salad WTF?
Previously food has been great, unfortunately some parts of the food was either undercooked, toast was burnt.
Limited mains menu, ingredients seem good quality but not executed very well. Cocktail we had was nothing more than bland. Service was good but price too high for quality of food and drink.
Food was good but quite small portion sizes.
Service was poor, waitress was polite but needs some more training as seemed like she wasn’t trained.
Was our first visit at the Chelmsford branch and we absolutely loved it! Staff were amazing and friendly, we definitely go back!
I thought the menu was a little limited especially for gluten-free. I paid the service charge but think 12.5% is steep for lunch and only 3 people.
The food was cooked well and tasty
My lunch experience at Bill’s was wonderful. The staff were so polite and attentive and the food was delicious. For a bank holiday Monday, the restaurant was buzzing and although we had to queue outside for a while before being seated, the service was brilliant. I will definitely be returning in the near future.
We ordered bills brunch Tobit the fried potato’s were missing and you don’t get much meat. When seated we was asked if we would like water for the table (thinking it would be free tap water) but then charged us £4 for a bottle. Overall quite disappointed
Excellent food and service, would highly recommend to anyone
Lovely bank holiday breakfast would recommend this.
Very disappointed been before and all was ok food not special and was expensive
It was my first time at Bill’s so I was looking forward to it. Very nice atmosphere. Was disappointed that we could only pick from all day menu but still found something nice to eat. Our waiter was very perfunctory but was a bit wooden, maybe he was new? Asked him to recommend me a cocktail, and he said he couldn’t as he didn’t drink. He was quick to clear our table but we got the impression he wanted us to hurry up, so we thought he may have had somewhere else to go. The food was very nice and arrived fairly quickly. We all had the strawberry doughnuts for dessert and they were delicious.
Overall it was good. However, having booked on line and having to confirm on line the day before it was a little annoying to be questioned on arrival as to wether I had booked and was I sure I'd booked the right restaurant and had I booked it under a different name. Another thing the wine isn't good value when they only have a 175ml glass which is the same price as a large glass elsewhere!
Food was good though and service attentive. Not sure we'll be back in a hurry though as there is better near by.
The front of house staff member was very friendly and took me straight to my table, he told me the names of my servers and offered me water straight away. My waiter was also very polite & friendly...we had a little chat too.
And next - the food. I had a vegetarian 'Garden' breakfast, which was a departure from the norm for me since I usually go for a full English. However, I have to say that the breakfast was so unbelievable tasty and filling that I attempted to re-create it twice myself within the next 4 days!
The only element letting the experience down was the Golden Latte which was a little too bitty and seemed to be more froth than drink.
I'd happily go back again and recommend the restaurant to those in the area.
Enjoyable evening. Friendly staff. Nice food. Would return.
Lovely attentive staff and great food. Food was served quickly.
Excellent as always
Great service and food as always! Bills never disappoints
Service excellent. Food excellent and quick to come out. Waiters very friendly and attentive. Was a lovely chilled evening catching up with a friend.
Wonderful service and amazing food :0 cant wait to go back
Always been a fan of Bills as a brand but the past two visits have led to disappointment.
The food was delayed by an hour (bearing in mind this was just a fry up, two poached eggs and some pancakes) then it came out in dribs and drabs which led to us all eating at different times.... to be fair they did apologise without prompting and gave us a couple of free drinks - but still poor..
Great food & service, really great place to visit , thanks !!
Food excellent as always. My mum was very grateful to find a vegan dessert on the menu as she can’t tolerate cream. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Ambience was good. Couldn’t really fault the food and service.
Had another fantastic meal. Special thanks to Alice for looking after us so well, nothing was too much trouble!
Breakfast at Bill’s wasn’t as nice as I remembered unfortunately. Looks nice but stale bread and less appetising pancakes than before.
Staff were nice and it was lovely and clean. However food took a while and it was cold.
Firstly, Becca, cracking waitress! I am fussy and particular and she took my quirks in her stride with a smile. THANK YOU. She is an asset.
Having said that, praise where it is due, ALL of the staff were lovely.
Now then, the menu. What happened? The choice was quite limited. The drinks menu was bigger than the food menu!
My 8oz steak was relatively small, compared to the 8oz description.
The chilli chicken skewers were nice but SPICY!! (For me)
OVERALL the food was mediocre. We won’t be racing back. We used to enjoy this place. Corona has changed it. Hopefully it will become just as nice, once again.
Very nice food and very nice staff there very helpful and will be going back
Was a wide enough choice on the menu to suit an 81 year old and a 25 year old and in-between.
Very attentive staff, food lovely and great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Disappointed they no longer accept blue light card however food and service was really good
Amazing scenery inside and great service. Thank you the staff!
