Three of us all had one different main course and we all thought food was very good. Very pleasant atmosphere. Service at times was a bit slow. But overall we enjoyed our pre theatre supper and I would recommend Bills to friends.
Fun relaxed dog-friendly place, delightful friendly server, great wholesome unpretentious menu, fun cocktails, recommend
Excellent service, food and drink any ambience. We always pay a visit to Bill’s in Cheltenham when we are passing through!
Excellent breakfast with very good service. Best in Cheltenham
Hi there, good food but the portion size was small. Why are vegan dishes smaller than veggie and meat? Makes no sense. Vegans eat as much as anyone else...
Great to find Richard Caring has opened up post-Covid Bill’s with the same excellent staff dedication to good food and attentive service.
Fantastic service and food was generous and flavoursome. Would definitely return
A lovely restaurant in Cheltenham. Jaz was our server he was excellent and welcoming . sharer to start and fish pie as a main . Right portion of food very good service .
Staff very friendly and food delicious, will be back for sure.
It was a birthday breakfast to start the day off and not a dinner. I did put that when booking but obviously they had over looked that. Service was ok but felt cold and not attentive as usual
We chose it because it has a gluten-free menu, which is so much better than having just the occasional meal marked as GF. The gluten free fish was delicious as were the additional side veg; and the nonGF steak meal was equally good. Service was friendly and informal, but professional and efficient - a good combination. Would definitely return if ever in Cheltenham again.
Second time at this restaurant, great service and food. Helpful staff who are very polite and attentive.
Very good service. Food was very nice and the staff were very helpful
Prompt and friendly service , good selection of food highly recommend.
Overall was good, food nice and competitively priced, only thing that was annoying was I ordered a beer, ironically there was a waiter and a waitress at our table of 2 at the same time when I ordered it, and it never arrived. Its a shame really as put a slight downer on the evening, a simple request really! Would probably choose other restaurants in the future that I know deliver better service.
Fantastic staff who really looked after me as a single mum with 2 little ones under 2. Couldn’t have done more. Its our Saturday afternoon treat before swimming. Food is very good & really healthy options for al of us
The food was good but expensive. 2 mains, 1 pudding, 1 alcoholic and 1 non-alcoholic drink came to £52. I think that’s a lot for lunch considering it was fish pie and Mac and cheese. Maybe I’m out of touch but post pandemic prices are much higher. I appreciate that restaurants need to make money back but the prices might put some people off. The restaurants offering 2 courses for a set price will do better. I’d recommend to a friend but with a price caveat.
Out with a friend for a catch up so opted for the Night Fever menu. Steak and chips, perfectly cooked, with a free dessert and two for one cocktails; just what we needed 🍸🍸
Fantastic staff, friendly and knowledgeable as well as attentive
Always enjoyed Bill's but due to lack of customers (we had an early table 6pm) the waiter did not really give us enough time whilst we were choosing what we would like we asked for more time but he was almost straight back I do think this is not normal as I said there was only about 3 other tables to wait on He was also a little clumsy when pouring our water it went over my glasses case and spilt on the table I wouldn't normally feed back but I think it is something that perhaps needs to be addressed.
A first visit to Bill's which was very enjoyable. Food was excellent but some items a little pricey. Would be happy to return. Staff friendly and efficient and food arrived promptly despite the restaurant being quite busy.
Service was amazing
Welcoming staff, good lighting comfy seating. Good choice of menus .
A rather rushed lunch between Jane’s Bind and the Literature Festival. Food and setting good, but the service was excellent!
We had breakfast/brunch, and whilst the quality of the ingredients on the plate was good, the beans were dry as if they had been left to keep warm, the eggs had virtually dry yolks, and the bacon and sausage were on the dry side too. The potential for a good breakfast was there, so it was a little disappointing that it didn't deliver.
The staff were excellent though, and the location is nice.
Had dinner here yesterday , Halloumi fries to start and crab cakes for the main , my wife had the buttermilk chicken burger , a fantastic meal fresh ingredients cooked and presented perfectly . Nice relaxing atmosphere with friendly welcoming staff .
Lovely food/ Great staff
Bit noisy near the coffee machine
A very poor experience. The staff were literally running around the restaurant.
The food was lukewarm. Starters arrived before the drinks. The mains arrived before we finished the starters and still no drinks.
We sent back the starters as they were lukewarm - and then the drinks finally arrived.
After around 45 minutes as the drinks arrived the flow of starters, mains etc finally got into a rhythm but it wasn’t enjoyable at all. The food was really mediocre.
Bill’s in other cities has been great pre-lockdown but on Saturday it was quite simply awful.
Granted it was Cheltenham Literature Festival and the restaurant was busy, but the service was poor and the staff downbeat and running around like headless chickens. When we we were sat down at our table, nobody came to take a drinks order and after a long time of waiting we had to ask a waiter to come and take our food and drinks order. He was quite miserable. Our starters came out reasonably quickly but it took almost an hour (from arriving) for our main course orders to arrive, and that was after we had to ask someone when they would be arriving. It would appear to me that several of the staff were inexperienced and there were clearly not enough staff working considering the Literature Festival being on, which the management should have been able to plan for. Suffice to say, we asked them to remove the 12.5% service charge that had been automatically added to the bill. Not a great experience and could have been so much better.
Haven't been to Bills since before the pandemic. Its our favourite place for a pre theatre meal. Took our friends who were also going to the theatre. The layout has changed and fresh furniture installed, looks great. Couldn't fault the food it was excellent, together with friendly efficient service, a great experience, will definitely be back.
Good food, quick service, and they were very busy in the week of the literature festival.
The food was very expensive, for the quality. The “optional” service charge didn’t feel very optional and the food arrived very quickly. The vegan burger was very disappointing
Pleasant meal with family on a Saturday night. Seated promptly and drinks order taken. Bottle of beer arrived warm so requested an ice bucket which was provided. Chicken burger was slightly overcooked, and fries could have been hotter when they arrived. Dessert very nice.
When we arrived, the host we were greeted with was fantastic.
We ordered and our child's food was brought out straight away which was appreciated. unfortunately, it was then clear that the rest of the order was forgotten about. We had to chase twice and saw people come in after us get their food before us.
When it did eventually arrive, there was no apology and it was obvious it has been cooked quickly, some items were burnt but then it had also been sat out as was barely warm.
No one asked us if our food was ok while we were eating.
By this point we didn't bother complaining as we needed to get our young child back.
It was disappointing as I know Bills can do better.
Service very poor would not go back to Bills again or recommend
Anna was serving us and she was the best waiter i have had in years very friendly and helpful.. The vegan burgers was amazing would happily come back 5 out 5 and anna service was amazing
Lovely pre theatre dinner
Lovely food, just a shame portions are so small!
As always we had an excellent dining experience at Bill’s. Perfect table position, attentive and welcoming reception and service, and the food was excellent! What more could you ask for. Highly recommended.
Food was great, house wine was great, service was great! Will definitely visit our local Bill's when we get home.
Had a really lovely server, food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. We went around 6ish and it was pretty quiet. Loved it
