I was really disappointed with the food. We both ordered Eggs Royale, the poached eggs were hard boiled eggs, a tiny portion of smoked salmon and a very small amount of holladaise. It was really disappointing

The last time I came, the food and service was amazing, so I thought I’d treat my Dad to brunch. I’d booked a table in advance but we still had to queue with other people who hadn’t. When we were eventually seated and our orders taken, the food took a Very long time to arrive . My Dad and I both ordered a veg breakfast. His arrived with scrambled eggs (should have been poached) and mine came with no eggs at all! The waitress was very apologetic, but by the time my eggs came, my tea was cold and my Dad had finished his food. A very expensive brunch ( with tips automatically included) for a poor plate of food.

Very slow service. One main course was good the other wasn’t. We find Bills to be inconsistent as sometimes it is very good then the next time you go it is pretty poor.

Service was slow although restaurant not full. Had to ask twice where food was and when it eventually came one order was wrong - they did take this meal off bill.
Bills in Lewes either has terrific service or terrible service - we just came on one of the latter days and it does make you dubious about returning

Maitre D was dismissive, quite abrasive and told a young waiter off in front of us all by clicking his fingers at him and pointed to something missing on our table. Very unpleasant manner indeed. Lack of basic service ie nobody noticed empty glasses on table, missing cutlery, napkins needed etc. Very disappointed and had taken friends as introduction to Bills Lewes

Delicious lunch in lovely surroundings really outstanding value.. service was great The whole experience was faultless.

Waited 45 mins for order. Three tables who came in after us were served first. Wife's meal was cold when it came.
However manager was apologetic and recompensed us.
Not a great experience but maybe a one off. Shall return

Bill’s green curry is always a winner, so were the burgers in our lunch party. Last time I was disappointed with the fish finger sandwich. One person in our party of 4 ordered a starter so then all of us waited a LONG time to get our food - by that time it was 2.15/2.30pm and when my friend asked for the food saying it has been so long about an hour and a half we were corrected No it’s been [only] an hour since we ordered.... Not impressed. Shame, as some dishes are amazing and the atmosphere is always really nice!

Was a very busy Saturday but I think staff handled this well. There wasn’t too much of a wait for food and staff still made sure to check everything was ok at our table.

Due to it being so busy we did have to queue despite having a booking and the outside queuing COVID safety went a bit out of the window... though at this point I think everyone in the country has had enough anyway !

Very efficient, friendly service, the staff count have been more helpful, loved our brunch, even had wool blankets for our knees, we were outside, and apparently hot water bottles are available too!!

This was my first visit since February and I was really impressed. I love the new interior and the new layout was excellent. Food was delicious, staff friendly and attentive. The only sad thing was we were enjoying ourselves so much we didn’t realise it had turned 10pm so had to leave.

We have always enjoyed eating at Bill's, we chose the restaurant as it is one of my daughters favourites. Unfortunately the food standards have dropped, my food was luke warm, I asked for it to be heated twice, it still came back luke warm, they did not replace it and out of sheer embarrassment, I gave up asking. My daughter also did not enjoy her meal but with the fiasco over my meal we said nothing. It is such a shame. I did notice that a lot of the food was being left on the countertop for some time before being sent out to the waiting customers. I understand that this is a difficult time, hence limiting the amount of bookings that are taken, but food should not be served at a tepid temperature.

Lovely interior with pleasant surroundings. The staff are a credit to the company, well turned out and extremely polite. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience.

We had booked for 3:30pm unaware that Bill's no longer offer afternoon tea, we were offered a restricted menu; i.e piece of cake and coffee. The food I eventually ordered was not the quality that I have been accustomed to at Bills, the humous & haloumi platter, served with focaccia not flat bread which is not nice, just a bit of a poor standard really.

There were six of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with you. The food was very good, slight delay in service, but surprisingly was given a discount for this which was pleasing. Ambience great, very buzzy.

Lovely restaurant. Our food was late but the manager immediately apologised and offered us a round of drinks on the house. The food quality was super, very tasty. Love that it is dog friendly, we will be coming back.

Issues with beef burger, but staff dealt with it.

Very loud and a bit manic but not sure much can be done about that.

Would probably avoid peek times as atmosphere isn't great however staff are lovely.
