Like the changes to the menus since our last visit a couple of years back, especially Flower pot pudding.
Like the decor to the outside rear terrace.
Not sure plastic plants are right but they are everywhere these days...prefer fewer, real plants.
Service very good overall, though delay in bringing wine for main course, and having to repeat order, was slightly annoying as would have thought it could be immediate - possibly order had to go via too many staff members..
But overall a very good experience, thank you.

Had a lovely evening at Bill’s Newbury!! The food was absolutely delicious!! The staff were extremely friendly and overall amazing!! The male front of house was very welcoming & polite!! Our waitress (didn’t catch her name) blonde lady with two young girls was brilliant with our little 3 year old!! She was so kind & courteous!!! Amazing evening with amazing food & amazing staff!!! Thank you very much!!!!

Firstly, we all make mistakes...I booked a table for 19.30 for a 9.30 breakfast!!
We eat here often and want to support you, and we appreciate that times are hard, but staff need training properly, and not forget orders. Still waiting for that toast and honey!!
Chefs need to make sure that the toast in 'The Vegan Breakfast' is not soggy.
We love you all, but please step up a gear to the 'Bills' we used to know.

Service was excellent. Some of the food was good, apart from the Mac and cheese which was dry and the steak was over cooked and tough.

Every time I leave Bills I feel that I have paid too much for what I've just eaten and it's very much style over substance. £13 for brunch is excessive when you take into account the portion size.
I enjoy the atmosphere, the service is good and the food on offer is of good quality. It's the pricing that causes me a problem

Booked using the app. No problem on arrival - really friendly staff. Ate inside as it was a wet day - it was busy. Had to wait a little while to be served but food was lovely when it arrived. Would definitely recommend going for breakfast there - great choice for vegan/vegetarian and meat eaters so all catered for. Reasonable in price.
Really quick service- especially as we only had an hour lunch break from work. Really nice people as well. Would definitely recommend if you need to go somewhere for a work lunch
I had lunch at Bill's Newbury on 9 July, with two friends. Luckily the sun was shining, so we sat outside in the Market Square.
The service was prompt and friendly and the food was, as always, delicious. The staff are always keen to help with any requests (such as a sauce on the side, or a salad without onion etc).
My only "but" - and the one that kept my review from being 5* - is that they're keeping the silly rule of not leaving the water jug on the table "because of Covid"). Seriously, it makes no sense at all when the diners are sharing dishes and pouring tea and passing round cutlery! Please review this policy. If you're just short of jugs, buy more.
I booked for my Mum and I to have breakfast at Bills, Newbury. The staff are always so lovely and welcoming and the food we had was absolutely fantastic, I love the restaurant and can’t wait to go again.

Had breakfast and it was lovely. Quiet morning, Monday, and staff were attentive and helpful.
The service was excellent however the food was not so good. The fish pie was overcooked and disappointing, slightly over priced too for the portion size. The venue is noisy as there is there are no furnishings to absorb the sound.
Incredible. Dumplings & Skewers a big highlight of the meal. The Triple chocolate brownie was impeccable also.

It was again luke warm. We're not served for nearly half an hour. Both had eggs which were also cold. This is the second time with same issues.
We enjoy coming to Bills and were trying to extend that holiday feeling after a week off work, so were excited to enjoy the brunch. We asked to be sat at a table with a little view and were happily accommodated and told our server would be with us shortly. Not too long after, in walked a massive table and sat down. The server that was due to come to us- went straight to the big table, who were not ready to order yet. and then walked away, my partner got up to flag said server down, as we had been sitting for close to ten mins and the section we were in/ server’s section, was not busy. The server came over and greeted, however seemed annoyed that we had flagged them down. We ordered and they brought us our coffee and food, coffee’s beans seemed to be slightly burnt ;( so not nice after taste. We did tell server and they didn’t actively do or say anything. But once it came to pay the bill, they were there instantly with the bill and card machine. And seemed only too pleased when we left. (I do want to add that the food was very good!) it was just the serving that really put a bad taste in our mouths.. ;( both of us understand that under the current circumstances serving must be quite a hard task, and so appreciate the great work being done by all. But perhaps a word with some of the staff would be helpful? Here’s hoping the next time is better ❤️
First time at Bills for a couple of years. Whilst the food tastes fine, I felt the menu was very limited with no exciting options.
We were seated promptly and in these current covid times felt reasonably safe (despite the odd staff member feeling the appropriate place for their mask was their chin).
It’s always annoying to see a menu item costing 50% more because it’s a Saturday and Bills did this with their steak offering - £20 no salad but £12.xx inc salad Sun to Thurs - grrrr. The wine list was a tad expensive for a high st chain.
But no great negatives but not as good as I remember it from when it started.
There was a good choice on the menu and a few choices for my daughter who is a vegan. The service was excellent and the staff very attentive and friendly.
We love visiting Bill's in Newbury: the food is fabulous and good value, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. There's a variety of tables, both indoors and outdoors, to suit different party sizes and accessibility needs, and the restaurant is well situated for the local shops and cinema.
We had only one issue with our lunch experience yesterday: we asked for tap water and were given a glass each but we were told that the jug couldn't be left with us "because of Covid." We were told that our server would have to refill our glasses each time we wanted more. I need to drink water regularly and was embarrassed to be constantly asking our server to top up my glass! We got around it by asking her to fill up all four glasses on the table (luckily we were two people at a table for four), but even then I needed them refilled during the meal!
Now, someone hasn't thought this through, have they? If that were valid, then why was the teapot left at the table for us to help ourselves? Why was my husband's carafe of fruit smoothie left for him to top his own glass up? Why was there a salt shaker on the table? Come on, Bill's - either you haven't got enough water jugs for each table to have their own (in which case, either be honest about it or buy more jugs) or you've made up a strange rule that makes no sense: having us pour our own water is no different from having us serve ourselves our dips and sides.
I'm back having lunch with friends on 9 July so hopefully someone will have rethought this plan and decided to trust us with the water jug!
A long wait for main meal - rectified quickly once made waiter aware we hadn't had food. Waiting staff were great and responsive. Resolved very rapidly and professionally, bill adjusted and service charge removed without asking, to reflect the experience. Still a really delicious meal and good experience. Staff were excellent.
