DJ playing very loud for a 11.30 brunch we couldn’t have a conversation. Had to leave immediately after food even left my coffee
Food was delicious, with a range of gluten free and vegan options available. The laid-back vibe was complimented by the music, provided by an in-house DJ. Drinks were also delicious and the staff were attentive.
Very busy and loud with live DJ couldnt hear across my table
We visit monthly, new menu, food was delicious as always, really enjoyed new menu.
A wonderful birthday celebration. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
Meal in between theatre performances. Quick and efficient service
Interesting menu choices, reflecting the Christmas season entertainingly. Decorations were gorgeous! Service was delightfully cheerful and very efficient.
I’ve been to Bill’s Soho many times before. Loved the place. But my last evening visit was disappointing. They had a DJ who cranked up the noise level on the music. I had to shout to make myself understood to my friends for 3h. The music was good but way too loud. This is a restaurant not a club!!!
Secondly we were sat in the vicinity of the entry to the restaurant. It was quite cold outside. Every time someone would enter or leave, there was a lot of cold air coming in. And this happened every 2-3 minutes. Staff were told to ask customers to not hold the door open unnecessarily but they didn’t pay attention beyond the first 5 minutes. My feet were freezing (I had boots on) and I had to wear my coat while sat at the table. It was colder in the restaurant than in the toilet area…
A shame as serving staff were nice and food is good. Will not go there again in winter.
I normally love Bills, but this visit to the Brewer Street Branch was like a very noisy zoo. Great that they're busy, but turning the music up to disco level on top of a crowded room was a nightmare! My friend and I were literally shouting at each other to be heard. People were 'dancing' in their seats! One really nice supervisor agreed with us and got it turned down a bit, but it soon went up to disco level again. My friend told another supervisor that she thought the music was too loud, to which the supervisor responded "Really? Do you think so?" and then walked off. Lovely customer service! Food and wine was good value for money, but really, this is a restaurant not a disco. I love Bill's but would never go back here. If you're over 35, you just wouldn't feel welcome.
Had a lovely meal here with great service. Recommend the Christmas tree pudding - absolutely delicious!
Amazing food and service. Fair price and cozy place
Ambience and quality of food was very good though service was very poor. Requested starters were never served, some mains came without certain ingredients, and our server forgot to place our dessert order. Would visit again but keep an eye on the status of your food.
Food was incredible and the ambiance was perfect!
Good food, very busy but service was great. A little noisy but not to the extent that you couldn’t have a conversation. Would definitely book again.
Service was slow later in the afternoon.
Food was okay but didn’t feel that fresh, lots of deep fat frying it felt. Maybe that’s just the things we ordered.
Probably not the best place for a quiet meal, lots of group and children.
Great online booking and tasty food in the heart of London
Service a bit slow but excellent food and ambiance
Lovely food but we did wait over 20mins to be serviced and acknowledged from when we sat down. We had to grab a waiter to order as no one approached us
Fresh tasty food delivered promptly by friendly helpful staff who were responsive to our individual requests.
handled my nut allergy amazingly !! food came out quickly and tasted amazing
Perfect for breakfast! Really great food and juices.
Food was excellent but service was poor at best. Then to get a bill with £10 service charge on it was just an insult when there basically was none
Will recommend for the food but not the service
The food came quickly and it was ok,however the hostess was rude. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Service and attitude of staff need massive improved at with this branch. Always had excellent experiences and friendly staff but felt on this visit that we were putting the staff out by just ordering. Explained after slow service on mains we would like dessert but needed quite quickly as we had theatre tickets. Told ten minutes so ordered then After 25 minutes we asked to cancel the desserts as had to go. Staff member not amused and generally we just didn’t feel welcome. Can’t knock cocktails and food we had as was lovely.
We arrived early for reservation but maitre d was happy to seat us. We were positioned quite close to entrance and the door was open the majority of the evening due to it being busy/people cueing to enter; this created quite a brisk breeze. We were ok with so didn't ask to move tables.
The staff were clearly very busy but attentive and our particular server was a lovely young woman who was always available when required. The restaurant had a nice vibe with a DJ mixing tunes in the background. The food was good and I particularly enjoyed my pan fried chicken with wild mushrooms.
I was with a an old friend who I had not seen in 27 years and we were seated for quite some time. At no point were we being pushed or felt pressured to leave.
Overall, a lovely evening and without hesitation I would return again.
Managed to get a table on a busy Saturday night. Staff friendly.
The service was great and the food really good. A lovely time spent with friends
Trip to theatre
Good food and great settings. Booked for 6 people which we were very squashed in the back of the restaurant. Not much table space for all the food. Took us 3 hours to eat starters main and dessert. Service was very slow not many staff in. Staff were friendly and good but just slow overall.
I love Bill's but this wasn't quite up to scratch. The waitress messed up our food and drinks order and we had to wait a long time for our food. However, the team did bring a complimentary brownie and candle and sing happy birthday to our daughter which was a lovely touch. We were glad to be at the end of the restaurant away from the noisy part which would have been a little much for us.
Music far too loud for dining. Service very slow, some food Luke warm. Slow service made us late to an exhibition slot. Overall very disappointing
Music was a bit loud at times as unable to hear colleagues talk.
Good food but shocking service, waitress was miserable. Staff were moody and generally unfriendly.
Fabulous atmosphere and such amazing service ! The food was also delicious!
We had booked a table for 12.15 as we were going to the theatre.
luckily we had as there was a great big queue to get in.
Food was lovely, prices good as well.
Service was friendly and quick
Will be going back
The service was really slow, took 30 minutes for our drink order to be taken and over an hour for a breakfast order to arrive. When the food did arrive it was like it had sat on the side for 10 minutes before it got to us as it was stone cold and dry. Dreadful for the price, probably the worst breakfast I have had
Extremely busy & waited for 45 mins for food & when it arrived it was not v hot. Disappointed.
Music is very loud - can get chaotic sometimes - hard to engage in conversations in the restaurant.
Lovely food and drink and the service was brilliant.
Lovely ambience - velvet chairs, warm atmosphere and decor. Friendly efficient service.
Only downside - portions on the small side... esp the spiced cauliflower and butternut squash falafel bowl - definitely nearer to starter sized portion. My adult son had to eat my burger bun to make it into a sufficient main meal (we didn't have starters). Halloumi and avocado burger not that exciting either. However - spiced tortillas starter - substantial and recommended.
