Bindas Eatery- Mayfair
As for the space, it pays homage to the wilderness and vibrancy of India. The decor sees the iconic auto rickshaw covered in paisley, with colours, textiles, foliage and a clever use of parrots helping to create an eclectic scene that celebrates India’s beauty and versatility.

Bindas is a very sweet restaurant and the staff where nice. However we had lunch and both the types of bread we had where stale (mine was like a stale hot dog role you can get from a supermarket) and the masala beans seemed to be tinned baked beans with a bit of spice added in. I did expect it to be abit more homemade and fresh sadly, hence the lower review.
We asked what good drink recommendations there are.. waiter (milin or milan) said he doesn’t drink so doesn’t know.. didn't offer to ask anyone else or provide some help- put us off getting drinks altogether.
The food isn’t as good as it is hyped. We had asked for some modifications in the chaat ka chaska sharing plate as we did not want watermelon but we were told by the waiter milin / milan that it’s impossible- we couldn’t understand why.
The waiter service was quite poor and he kept mentioning the calorie counts which we never asked for. Felt this was quite rude and implying we were overweight?!
Starters were quite bland.. the watermelon dish was definitely replaceable with something else as requested.. it was a simply bowl swap.. but was not allowed..
Cutlery was also missing when starters arrived
After the starters - mains arrived- the waiter started to cram on the mains plates on the table without taking away the starter used plates.. poor waiter service- seemed untrained.
Had to ask for spoons etc for serving the mains… not good management at all.
I would most definitely not go here again.
Food and flavours were excellent, reminded me of India, could have done with a side salad, or dip sides. Service was hit & miss and training definitely required on this aspect.
We had a lovely time. The restaurant was lovely and well decorated, and the music is a nice touch. The food was good, and there are a lot of choices. However, we waited over an hour for the food and some plates were lukewarm at best when it arrived. Communication from the waiters would have gone a long way.
Food and ambience was good. Good service and a good authentic Indian restaurant. The gol guppas were disappointing and lacked a lot of flavour and spices.
We had an issue with our food which the manager resolved on our visit so I won't go into detail. However, the service was not great overall. I arrived 10 mins early for my booking - for 7 people - and the waiter was urging me to place my food order then and there because the restaurant would be busy for a Friday night. I thought this was really pushy and unnecessary since I was clearly waiting for more people to arrive.
Drinks were lovely and the music was fun.
Shame about the service and issues with the food.
Poor service. The wait staff nicely told us to eat quickly and leave. Extremely rude. When I told them how uncomfortable that was to hear, later apologized but damage was done. Food is fine but extremely rude staff. Will not come back again
Hi Sang, We are very sorry for such an experience and we have launched an investigation to see what went wrong. We right now are very short staffed due to chronic supply issues we have had to source agency staff to help us deliver food and service to you. The front of house members that were serving you are no longer with us and rest assured you will never receive such poor service again. If you dine with us again we would like to offer you a complimentary meal for 2 please send us an email.
The service was shockingly bad! At the of bringing our dinner, they told us to hurry up and eat as they needed the table back in 5 mins. They brought me a chicken dish which I returned as I am a vegetarian and weren't apologetic about. Had to ask 4-5 times for my drink that I had ordered and no cutlery with the desert. Had to ask for that too. Had to ask them to clear the table of my dishes more than once. Extremely poor service and didn't feel the food was worth going back for when the service is so bad!

Cold food, ran out of a lot of food and mediocre food.
Hi Dina, We are sorry the food came out cold, from our understanding the new agency staff we had hired that evening were making mistakes with orders. We have been suffering with staff shortages and have had to employ agency staff, rest assured this will not happen again. The Front of house members that were working that night will not be returning to work at Bindas. We as a brand strive for great service and great food, hospitality at the moment is going through a turbulent time.
Food was really really good. Service was a bit slow considering it was empty but they have only been open for 3 weeks so could just be getting used to things. Overall a really good experience and food was gorgeous.
The starters were new and interesting, the mains were delicious too but not as good as the starters! service was brilliant and the food and drinks came in good time!
Brunch is great value and masala tea is a treat!
For the location it's perfect in terms of value, convenience & atmosphere. All in all a very pleasant meal with good service set in above average surroundings.
Their prices are absolutely ridiculous! We ordered a platter and we were told it’s big enough for 2 people however it was minimal amount of food for £30! We were so upset because it was not worth the money at all :( it made us really disappointed. Do not recommend to eat here if your hungry at all.
Hi Layana, Firstly thank you for taking the time out to review our restaurant. Secondly we are sorry you feel disappointed with our chaat ka chaska thali, it is usually thoroughly enjoyed by all. The thali is a sharing platter that has been designed to be shared between 2-4 people. Our portion sizes are quite generous and the average price per head is between £25/£30 ph which is also exceptionally reasonable for a Mayfair restaurant. We thank you for your visit.
Food and service was excellent.
Excellent Indian street food. Very tasty
My partner and i had a wonderful experience. The service, food and cocktails were amazing.
Oh wow! we look forward to welcoming you again soon!
Sadly this was a very underwhelming experience. The chicken makhani was a nice dish but was too spicy. The wood portions were very small and there wasn’t an option to select pani Puri and samosa chaat their own, which made the menu very limited for my dietary requirements. Would not be revisiting.
Hi Thank you for you review, unfortunately we cannot sell items on their own as they are made for specific dishes. We are an eatery and have a select menu and we cater for all dietary requirements and we are very flexible in adjusting certain dishes to your palate. From our understanding your party enjoyed the food very much but would have liked the samosa chaat and gol guppa separate outside of the chaat ka chaska platter which we were unable to do so. Thank you for your review.
Bindas was a real let down for us. We went in with very high expectations after reading such positive reviews, but more than that after seeing how delightful the food looked in pictures.
Sadly, the pictures didn't quite marry up with the flavours. The food at Bindas is not very appetising. The flavours lack authenticity and deviate away from typical Indian flavours, and rather veer towards the Western palate.
The dishes on the face off it sound delightful, and the presentation is good, but the lack of authentic flavour combined with what I can only describe as alarmingly high prices for what you get, is enough for me to not revisit. I am very happy to pay the price for good food, but when the quality of the food is as low as it is here, it's a big no from me.
And on service, this started very well and staff members were very helpful to begin with but as the night grew old the service got slower and slower despite the restaurant being fairly quiet which was quite disappointing.
Hi Rahul, Thank you for taking the time to review Bindas. We are an Indian & Indian inspired restaurant, we offer traditional plates and eclectic eats. Our meat is locally sourced, grass fed & high welfare. Our breads are organic, our spices are high welfare, our vegetables are partially organic and UK grown. Everything is homemade and of the highest quality. Hospitality has experienced the highest number of staff shortages ever so we apologise for service being a little slow.
We found this divine eatery through Instagram…and it was our special day so we thought of dining in for lunch and to our suprise the host was super welcoming. Mr. Manchit who greeted us and helped us choose from the menu was very courteous and gave us an experience of par excellence hospitality. We ordered for Makhani Chicken and Laal Maas with Truffle Parantha, and there was nothing to complain about. The food was delicious and made us travel back to memories of Delhi our home town! It was finger licking good. We definately plan to visit again and take our friends along.
All the best!
Food was great.
Felt like at home.
Staff was friendly.
Must recommend their Makhani.
Great atmosphere, nice indoor decor. Friendly and welcoming service. Food portions were just enough, very tasty
Food was great, service was good, place has a nice ambience. My only caveat is that the portion sizes are pretty small for the cost. We got a Keema Pao and a Tandoori Aubergine and both of these tasted absolutely fantastic but were basically starter sized. If you want to leave full then you'll probably want to order an additional dish, so keep that in mind if your wallet is looking a bit thin at the moment.
Great food and service also Staff is very helpful and friendly, would highly recommend
Great service with great music and food! What more can you ask for! Oh and great drinks as well! Can’t wait to have to guys close by soon 🤞
Not much to talk about. Very poor food quality and service
Thank you for taking the time to review Bindas. Food quality is a high priority, our meat is locally sourced, grass fed & high welfare. Hospitality has experienced the highest number of staff shortages ever so we apologise for service being a little slow.
Excellent decor, staff and tasty authentic Indian food!
Great place to go for authentic Punjabi food. Beautifully decorated interior.
Very friendly service. Conveniently situated from Oxfordcircus tube station.
Good value for money. No fuss menu.
Had lovely afternoon lunch.
Will definitely visit again.
Food and Service both fantastic. Great decor end vibe. Looking forward to visiting again at Westfield.
A bit of an underwhelming experience overall. Had high expectations but the food didn’t quite hit the spot & there was no atmosphere as we were the only people in there! To start with we had haddock pakoras which really didn’t taste of much but weren’t greasy which was good. We also had the tandoori aubergine which we really enjoyed as it was different to anything we had tried before.
For mains we had the Oh my gosht burger, this was a real let down…the Pattie itself was over seasoned in particular a lot of mustard seeds which really made it quite unpleasant to eat. We had the keema pao…now the keema was delicious & we really have no complaints with this dish except you aren’t given enough pao, so we asked for extra. We also ordered a side of garlic chilli fries which were very plain with some dry chilli sprinkled over them…no taste of garlic & no sign of masala as it says on the menu. Unfortunately based on this experience we wouldn’t return.
I recently saw this wonderful restaurant on Instagram and so we went to try it! What a splendid experience! Such a colourful and aptly decorated restaurant!
The menu was certainly interesting and unique so we tried the most unique sounding dishes and we were not not disappointed. The food quality was excellent, the dishes all had a unique twist but didn’t lose their authentic taste. The three of us are good cooks and enjoy good food so the expectations were high! We all left feeling very full physically and emotionally! Brilliant afternoon made even better by an extremely attentive and courteous server. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a real gastronomic experience but doesn’t want to compromise on fun and style! We will certainly be going again…soon!
Sunday brunch food was very enjoyable. Couldn’t tell the difference between the salted caramel and the karak chai however, both were great nevertheless.
Such a cute place! Amazing decor, service and food, took my parents for their anniversary and they loved it!!
Will definitely be going back to try their main menu as Sunday 11-3 is brunch menu only - which was also really good
Overall experience at restaurant was good, we went for the Sunday Brunch. loved the ambience and decor. Food was lovely with generous portions and nicely presented, being vegan I did ask for our waiters suggestion and ordered the Poha with 2 vegan sausages as well as the keema shakshuka and French toast for my husband and son. What did let it down for me slightly was that the waiter came up to me during the meal and asked if I wanted a chutney or sauce to go with sausages, I thought this was very thoughtful of him as they were pretty dry on their own which he must have noticed I guess and accepted a mango chutney but when the bill came a charge for this has been added on. now £1.50 is not a lot to me but what I thought was excellent service on the waiters part ended up leaving a little sour taste as I wouldn’t have expected to pay for a tiny pot of sauce or chutney especially as it’s not included on the menu as an add on. At the beginning of the meal he had also asked my husband to let him know if he needed extra buttered pao with his shakshuka and I did wonder if my husband had asked for this would it also have been added to the bill as extra without us being notified first. For transparency I think it needs to be made more clear whether something is being offered complimentary or at an additional cost. Hopefully the restaurant can address this.
Apart from the above mentioned we had a nice time and if we were in area again would probably give the usual Monday to Saturday menu a try.
First time visiting here and I am glad I came across Bindas Eatery, as the food was great. I loved the laal maas and makhani, taste was really good worth trying. The service was really good and I liked how the barman made me a cocktail based on what I wanted. If you’ve not been then it is worth checking out Bindas!
Great food and service. Love the Sunday brunch menu
Brilliant place! Great food! Ambience was good and service was amazing!!
Food and service was amazing and the ambiance was great.
Portions were small given the prices and the food was okay nothing special
I loved that they called me about 10 minutes prior to reservation time. As soon as i entered, the staff, particularly the guy that served me was warming, friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were served almost immediately and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The hindi music playing created a really fun atmosphere. It was my 2nd time visiting and I've recommended and will continue to recommend this place to everyone!
