I had booked an outdoor table for 6 so that myself and some colleagues were able to have a little drink and some food to celebrate Christmas. We were given a table in the new marquee that has been set up in the garden. The atmosphere in there is nice, cosy and warm. They have a fire pit and other things inside to decorate it which is a really nice touch! I’ll admit that when I was told that our table was in the marquee I did expect it to be a little cold but it really wasn’t at all!
Service was excellent as usual as was the food and drinks. The selection of food and drinks is extensive and has always been the case during the Covid-19 situation since the Bird in Hand opened after the first lockdown. I’m lucky as it’s also my local 👌🏼
Myself and my colleagues shall be back in on a Friday after work once the pub is able to open up again.

Food and service were very good. I had the liver and it was delicious, lots of it too. The atmosphere was a bit muted, but to be expected in the current COVID environment.

Exceptional meal at the Bird in Hand - we were sat by a wonderful log fire and were served brilliant food. Mine and my partner’s food was some of the best we’ve eaten in Surrey and certainly the best from a pub!
Food is of high quality and as far as possible locally sourced so it’s fresh and with good flavour. Beautiful presented by friendly attentive staff.
The hake was very tasty & rhubarb creme brûlée delicious

Very relaxed atmosphere on a quiet Monday, but food and service were both excellent as usual. Pity these establishments have to close for a month.

The service was excellent and the food lovely. The tables were really spaced out and staff were wearing visors so we felt very safe in this Current covid climate.
Our first visit. We enjoyed our choice of dishes. Our waitress was very friendly, polite and helpful. We had a bit of a wait for our meals, but when they came they were well presented and tasty. We shall definitely visit again. On this occasion it became rather noisy where we were sitting.

Amazing 5* in every way yet again. I cannot fault this place at all. We also had chips and Halloumi bites with our after work drinks. Both were perfectly made and presented. They tasted amazing too!

This is our local pub but we haven’t been here since March. Pleasantly surprised by the way the Bird has adapted. Looking forward to next time.

The Bird in Hand is a good place to eat. Staff are always friendly and attentive and the food is great, fresh ingredients and cooked / presented well! I had the Bubble & Squeak with gammon and poached eggs - basic dish but was very nice:-)

Outstanding service and food as always. The onLy thing that ruined it was the need to be out by 10pm which left us rushing food and drink down to comply with the ridiculous Covid rules. Not the Bird in Hand’s fault but would’ve been nice to let the food go down first!
Really well managed in terms of Covid regs, started in the marquee but moved inside when got cold (understand that heaters coming).

The bird in hand had an excellent menu with both Vegetarian and Gluten Free options. We were 5 and all had a different dish and all were excellent. Will definitely return to try some others to.
