Very welcoming restaurant. Quiet place with great ambiance. The food we had was good but not great except for the desserts which were excellent.
Service was great! Our food was delicious although the menu could use more non-meat options.
A wonderful dining experience - beautiful interior that is cheerful and calming. Very friendly student-staff. Creative chef and very tasty food. Inviting in all ways - we will be back.
Amazed by the whole experience.
The service and food were outstanding. The ambiance is a little cheesy in the daytime, but once night falls and the pretty lights on come it’s quite romantic.
Excellent meal . Thank you to all. Exceptional food and hospitality! Would highly recommend!
Great to have a true “dining” experience . Nice paced service , not rushed ! Waitstaff very professional. Delicious food and especially loved the desserts!
Awesome experience, superb service, and excellent food
Great find. Great food, great service. We will be back again and again. Great bakery right next door
Their Parisian street style dining hall was just amazing. The food was great for the price! Amicable waiters and overall service was great.
Our experience was top notch from the ambience to the food and the service. I love this little foodie gem nestled in my West Philly neighborhood. What a treat!
This was the first time in a long time going to a restaurant in Philadelphia
The food was excellent . The service was excellent also. I took a few of my friends and they both loved it and will be back. It was a wonderful dining experience.
Service was great. The food was fair.
Very welcoming. Promptly seated. Great service. Delicious food and drinks. Great choices for dessert and worth getting to compliment dinner. Would come back again for special occasion.
I understand that many of the chefs at the restaurant school are in the process of learning but for the price it was not worth it. The cocktail prices and the entrees were the same price as many high end restaurants in Center City and there would be more quality food guarantee at these places. Here are a few things that we noted-- onion soup had a weird flavor, lobster pasta smelled fishy, cocktails had way too much ice with little alcohol, mashed potatoes were too salty. Overall it was not a great value-- I wish it were half the price then I could excuse the hit or miss quality.
Excellent experience. Wonderful food, great service.
We celebrated my birthday at the Bistro Perrier at Walnut Hill College. What a delightful evening it was! Every food item that was on our table was freshly made from scratch by the Restaurant School students, even the bread. Everything tasted and smelled delicious, too. I had the French Onion soup as appetizer. I’ve never had such richly flavored onion soup. We also had salads and the charcuterie board, full of interesting and creative recipes. They have a wonderful wine list, and the wine manager helped us select a suitable wine. While the food represented the best of fine dining, the atmosphere in the atrium was fun and relaxed. Service was excellent.
This place was so incredible! I’m surprised it’s not on more Philadelphia magazines or internet articles for coolest places in Philadelphia. And the food was excellent! I had the steak frites, and it was incredible. I will definitely be back.
Bistro never disappoints. Service and food top notch. Had the Streak and Frittes with Salmon appetizer, both were delicious. We will be back soon.
What a lovely experience, start to finish: beautiful setting, conscientious service and great food. Bistro Perrier has it all.
The food was absolutely amazing, and even if it wasn't, we would come back here in a heartbeat just for the ambiance. Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. We even got a really fun tour of the place after our meal. The staff were all extremely helpful and accommodating. We were visiting Philadelphia for the weekend and did not enjoy the city, but honestly are debating coming back just for this restaurant. The food was affordable without sacrificing on taste. The food can hold its own with some of the best French restaurants that I have had.
Wonderful experience dining at the restaurant school. Meals were delicious, service efficient, and great prices. Fun to do something different and free parking on a private lot is a great bonus! Will come again.
I loved it! My partner and I came for date night. We received outstanding service. They took note of our allergies, the staff serving the food and wines had flourish. We received a tour of the restaurant afterwards.
Simply one of the best experiences my boyfriend and I have ever had. I would give the ambiance 6 starts if I could. The rolls were divine. The prices were very reasonable. My octopus was a little too salty but everything else was great. The ratatouille was delish. Cannot wait to go back.
We were treated like honored guest from the moment we arrived.
Amazinf food and great experience! Definitely recommend to everyone!
We dined for 3.5 hours at this Walnut Hill College Restaurant, and longer means better for me when it comes for dining. My wife and I used to come here before she passed away in 2019; she was a gourmet cook who had worked for Julia Child. The atmosphere, a cafe in Europe, is always charming. The service and food were impeccable. Prices are astonishingly low for the quality. Cocktails ($10). Appetizers ($8-11). Main dishes ($21-$24). Desserts ($8). Our table received a complimentary cheese ball appetizer and complimentary chocolates at the end. (It probably helped that one of our diners knew one of the staff.) Speaking of chocolates, the Semifreddo au Chocolat au Lait, (Ruby Chocolate Cremeux, Chocolate Flourless Cake, White Chocolate Shell, Dehydrated Raspberries, Feuillitine Crunch) was superb. At the end of the meal we met the student who had made it. The menu changes according to the school’s calendar. Free onsite parking in this University City area restaurant.
Amazing experience! Food was absolutely delicious, service was exceptional, and the italian/french vibe of the restaurant was perfect for a romantic evening. Recommend the ratatouille, the salmon, lamb steak, and panna cotta!
Excellent atmosphere. The quality of the food is great and the personnel is so polite and eager to provide good service.
We loved our experience at the Bistro Perrier.
We were seated in the Courtyard, which was lovely. I should have spoken up when we were seated, because our table was near the bar, where the waiters would wait for their ordered drinks. Like I said: that was on me.
The cocktails were yummy and the food delicious. I had the smoked salmon appetizer, which was actually smoked chunks of salmon, not the traditional slices. It was delicious. The accompanied salad needed some acidity. Our son had the onion soup, which was delicious and perfectly seasoned.
For our main course I had the steak frites. So good! I loved the pat of herbed butter on top of the steak. The steak was very tender and the fries were shoestring fries and very good. My husband and son both had the duck and this too was well seasoned and delicious.
For dessert our son had the homemade gelato and he said it was super good! Three different flavors in beautiful tuile cookies. I had the sour cherry tart, which I honestly was not crazy about. It was very sweet and a bit dry.
All in all we had a lovely meal and we would definitely go back again!
The service and food was amazing. We even got a tour of the whole kitchen and courtyard. Very kind folks there. I’d love to go back in warmer weather.
The restaurant is for culinary and hospitality students to gain direct experience and is set up as an outdoor French Bistro (think Disney). The food is 5 star restaurant quality at a fraction of the price. The servers shared their education experience and goals for the future. Highly recommend for a unique dining experience.
Valentine's Day at Bistro didnt disappoint. The ambiance and service is top notch. The food was delicious as ever. I had the Parsnip Soup with Shrimp (for my appetizer) which everyone needs to try as it was that good, and petite filet mignon that was even better for my entree. For dessert they offered a trio of deliciousness but my favorite was the chocolate souffle tart. I can't say enough good things about Bistro Pierre. They are starting up regular hours this week or next I believe, so you need to make reservations and try this gem quickly.
Lovely three course Valentine's Day menu, with ample choices. All very delicious and beautifully prepared. Very considerate pandemic-spaced tables and distancing precautions with servers with masks and face shields and gloves. A lovely and special evening.
Very Good meal, spaced out tables that allowed for my wife and I feel comfortable dining out. School went above and beyond during our meal.
The best restaurant in philly. Love it!!!
A beautiful architectural and designed decor!
I had no idea that it was a culinary institute!
The food. The service. There's not enough good things I can say about this place. Such a lovely venue, such polite talented staff, and the food is just in a different class. My fiancee and I are already booked for Valentine's Day!
Great first time experience. The food was excellent and the service was fast, clean and pleasant. Will come back again soon.
