BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse - Virginia Gateway
Very impressed with how they are handling social distancing. Our service was exceptional & Jason was an amazing server!
Just so great to get out to eat again. Bison burger was outstanding! My wife loved the ahi tuna.
Great to be back inside! A friend and I try to do lunch once a month at BJs and we've missed it since March.
Still a little strange with the reduced seating, missed sitting in the Bar area but it is what it is. Looking forward to things getting back to normal!
Our server was definitely first rate.
Booking online was quick and easy. I had a problem getting it to load a few times on my iPhone though.
Too dark, waiter kept forgetting stuff, way overpriced for sub par food
An excellent meal and experience. It was especially helpful that we used Open Table to make our reservation, since when we arrived there was a 45-50 minute wait for a table. The reception staff ensured we were the very next people seated after we arrived. The food was excellent, (prime rib, tri-tip, steak and cheese sandwich, and spaghetti. All were very good. Service was efficient and timely.
One person in our party wanted to order the weekend special prime rib, but it had already sold out. This was disappointing, especially because Sunday dinner was just starting - at 6pm the special shouldn’t be sold out already.
Nice atmosphere and decent beer. The seating, noise, and lighting were all comfortable. The food was quite lack luster, especially for the price. The $14 salad had grape vines flung throughout and was small, burgers were undressed and not consistent with menu...produce was sad.
Server was kind and intent.
Very bad customer service skills.
Had a reservation still had to wait 1 hr with no absolute certainty if we will be seated!
Not going back to this place.
We had a wonderful anniversary celebration at BJ’s Friday night. We got the weekend special prime rib and it was unbelievable! I think it’s the biggest piece of meat I’ve ever seen and it was delicious tender and cooked exactly right!
Our server was amazing and everything was perfect from beginning to end… We love BJ’s brewhouse!!!!
My wife and I had a great meal from appetizers to dessert! Kudos to the bartender for making a great Old Fashioned.
Just a night out w friends...long wait for a waiter to greet us, he spoke very softly so we could barely hear him, my soup came out much later than everyone else’s meals and my husbands pork chop was raw in the middle. We have been here before , wasn’t impressed the first time but just thought that was because they had just recently opened...thought we’d give it another try. No more try’s for us.
Service was quick, staff very pleasant & food was very good.
Went downhill over past few years from service to quality of food. Our reservation was at 6:30 but we weren’t seated until 7:15 and didn’t have dinner until nearly 8. We were very patient and understanding bc they were busy, but when they first opened we LOVED BJs, it feels like their food quality is not as good (my grilled shrimp on my salad for example was cold and no signs of being grilled, tiny cheap gross shrimp you would find at a much cheaper chain like Red Robin, Apple bees...not for the $$$ we spent and are ok spending when food quality is worth it....that was also after my salad came covered in red onions which our waiter showed us he had put in to make sure they were NOT on my salad). Mistakes happen no big deal but we won’t be going here anymore unless no other convenient options are available....we don’t crave BJs like we used to as last 3 experiences were subpar at best.
Great dinner, awesome environment and good food
Appetizers came out quickly and were delicious. My side of garlic mashed potatoes were fairly dry and luke warm. I thought my ribeye was good. My friends were equally meh about food. Nice wine with our meals.
We both had ribs. They were dry and overcooked and lacking barbecue sauce. Broccoli was overcooked and tiny pieces like it was from the bottom of the pot. We were almost finished before the server came back to see how things were.
So great. We loved the food so much. This is our date night spot so we come here a lot. We’re big fans
My first time there. Was honestly surprised by how good the food was. Definitely going back.
Where to start? Service was poor from first greet to paying the check, food was not good, floors and chairs dirty, menus were sticky, restrooms gross.
I have been to this restaurant before and have had better entrees. I ordered the wedge salad with steak. A ton of lettuce...not enough of the rest of the toppings to make it tasty. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich...they forgot the sauce....then brought a side of mustard. The combination didn’t work. I’ve had good food here though but they should work on consistency. Great atmosphere!
Our reservation was honored and we were immediately shown to a table. I'm used to calling ahead to BJ's and waiting up to 10 minutes to be seated, so now having the ability to make a specific reservation on Open Table is a plus.
We did encounter a service problem. We ordered an appetizer to share and two entrees. Unfortunately, the runner came out with our entrees before we were served our appetizer. We told the runner that we were waiting for the appetizer and that we expected fresh entrees, not the same ones reheated, after we finished the appetizer. Our server came over to the table to apologize for the mixup in the kitchen and assured us that were would get fresh entrees. When the entrees were served, they appeared to be fresh, but we could not tell. Other than the fries on one of the entrees, nothing was super hot. However, the temperature was adequate.
Our server more than made up for the kitchen's error, and he apologized at least twice more. However, the one thing that surprised us was that no member of the management staff came to the table to acknowledge the error and apologize.
We often eat at BJ's. It's great for a casual meal and has an extensive menu. It also has some excellent beers.
We arrived early for our 5:00 reservation, but BJ's took us right to our table. Service was fast and the server was courteous. I'll be back again!
I wish I could have reviewed an actual experience of eating at this restaurant... but alas I cannot. I was told when we checked in at 5:59 for a 6:00 reservation that we would have a 40-50 minute wait for our table. What part of making a reservation with OpenTable did I miss the part where we were not actually getting a table guaranteed for the specified time? What a disappointment. The bbq place across the street was just fine and probably a better value and more enjoyable experience.
awesome. very good for those who have allergies. we love going there for dessert.
Every time I visit I have a great experience. Service was very very good. Not sure I will order the calamari again; it was not what I thought of as fresh. All the other items ordered were incredible. The buffalo chicken pizza tavern cut is the best I have every had. The steak and cheese sandwich was like getting one in Philly. The other entrees were equally great. The menu is expansive and I keep going back to try new things, but it is hard because I like the prior food that I have ordered in the past.
Party of 6 very nice seatin a booth conducive to conversation.
Great for our bigger family
Food is really overpriced and average quality. Drinks are good with great variety but are expensive and seem to have very little alcohol in them. One drink and a chicken meal was $30.
It used to be a really great restaurant but both the quality of the food and the service has fallen off considerably. It took well over an hour to get our food, our waitress had to be flagged down multiple times. Once we actually got the food it was cold and just didn’t taste anywhere near worth the money.
Meal came out incorrect from order. Had to wait over 10 minutes for simple request for butter. Drinks were never refilled.
Family visiting from out of town
Unorganized and chaotic check-in process and an extremely rude hostess who obviously doesn’t like her job didn’t help. Despite a reservation on Open Table, still had to wait 15 minutes. Once you got past the chaos and lack of social skills at the front, everything else was great!
Came in on time, seated immediately. Service was excellent, the waitress frequently came back to ask how to food was. My date and I had a fantastic time.
They brought adults food before children's. Then when they finally brought children's food the plates were hot as if they had been city for awhile
There was miscommunication about the Easter prime rib promotion. We asked our server about it and another employee, who gave conflicting information. If we had not overheard the manager talking to a table beside us, we would have missed out on a delicious, great value prime rib dinner.
My friends and I had a good time at BJs. The service was pretty quick, a few hiccups though with server remembering orders, and one of my friends got their order switched and had to wait for her order again. Otherwise, the food was good and came pretty quick and the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere
Great food and service. We will return for another visit.
Not my favorite restaurant because there are too many items on the menu so this narrows the ability to have anything other then average food. The last time I went the Chicken Alfredo didn't resemble the picture on the menu - could hardly find any of the broccoli that was one of the ingredients pictured on the menu. But I decided to try again since a friend wanted to go there. Her dish was pretty good but its pretty hard to go wrong with spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered the margherita fresca flatbread because I thought it would be similar to Margarita Pizza -which has a simple fresh pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. The only similarity with the BJ's flatbread was I did see tiny bits of what may have been basil... it was so bad I hardly ate any of it. It reminded me of a saltine cracker with some unidentified cheese - never did see any hint of tomato sauce let alone fresh tomatoes.... Probably won't be going back.....
It was a good place to have drinks, dinner and watch the game. A little loud but to be expected. Food was good and temperature appropriate and Robert S did a great job pacing everything as not to be rushed.
