Black & Blue Steak & Crab - Buffalo
Clams to die for, best glass of wine ice ever had, great atmosphere... But the price. Dinner for 2 with drink was over $175. I would not recommend it to a friend because the prices were way more that I would be willing to pay for again. Buffalo has many choices where you could probably get what we got for far less. service was good, though.
Black and blue was excellent as always. My fiancé steak was aged, seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
Customers from MN were our guests. I chose Black and Blue because it’s a terrific dining experience. All 7 enjoyed themselves immensely and our waiter Chris was great
My wife and I had a very wonderful time celebrating 9 years of marriage!
The entire staff was excellent!
Great food. Great service.
They’ve upped their game over the years. Great higher end wine selection, delicious filets and an absolute fantastic sommelier & server Zack. Loved him!
We went there for our anniversary dinner and were very impressed. My husband mentioned to the waiter that I cannot eat gluten and they immediately offered to bring me gluten free bed that was warm, they double checked that my meal choice was gluten free, and they surprised us with a complimentary flourless chocolate cake for dessert to celebrate.
Went out with Jan - she had a great steak - cooked perfectly. Mine was overcooked and tough
Drinks were good.
Appetizers were good to very good
Main dish I had grouper it was average it came with a pesto sauce that was under the fish it was overkill and took up the entire plate and made the dish soupy and maybe cooked a little overdone. My husband had porterhouse - it was ok- I’ve had better. The sides of Mac and cheese very good and sweet potato dumpling that was just ok. Very dry in the center. Service was great.
Great Service, nice ambiance but the tables are very small. Barely enough room to fit 4 adults with drinks let alone food. Calamari was over cooked. Meatballs were very good. Lobster bisque was very good. Ordered two steaks (Filet and NY strip). One medium rare, other one medium. They came out the complete opposite. NY Strip was just ok. Not worth the money. I expected more out of a high priced meal. Would not go back unless it was just for appetizers.
My partner ordered a ribeye and I ordered short ribs. His portion was huge so that he could not finish it. Mine was just the right amount.
Excellent food , great service ! I’ve been going there ever since they opened the place ..
The Hostess could use a dose of confidence from Zach who waited on us . He was great and seemed to really enjoy his job! Will Definitely recommend to everyone.
Black & Blue is my favorite restaurant! The service, food, and drinks never cease to amaze me. I only wish that they had a couples menu or meal that included two sides.
Business lunch and was given a private space with our party of 8. Great service and even though it was noisy in the restaurant they had a great way to make the room more private and close off the sound. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a business friendly venue.
Exceptional peanut butter dessert
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. Our waiter was top notch, the food was great and the free champagne toast was a really nice touch! It made our anniversary one to remember.
The food was good but the service, seating and ambiance were mediocre at best.
We love Black & Blue and eat there frequently. The oysters are great, New York strip is always tasty and cooked perfectly. Love the sides. Our server the other night was Zack and he was great! My only complaint about Black & Blue is the bread! First of all I am over pretzel bread and the other rolls were hard as a rock inside and out, warm right out of the oven, but hard as a rock. This has been an issue the last few times we've eat there, but I haven't felt the need to complain about it. Just serve fresh bread, please!
I’ve called and left messages to and sent a Facebook message talk to them about my meal. We were having dinner with our son and his new girlfriend. It was not a comfortable situation to tell the waiter that my $70 lobster was horrible. I brought it home so I could take it back to them after the fact so they could see it. But no one is getting back to me. Very disappointed.
Food was extremely salty (& I’m a salt girl ) , very high priced for very small portions. Beautiful restaurant, good service, food was just way to salty
Really good meal and very attentive service. Always enjoy our meal here
Excellent service and food as always. The waitstaff is attentive without feeling like they're hovering. The food came out at perfect temperatures in a reasonable time. And like always, the after dinner coffee was fantastic.
The bone-in cowboy ribeye was absolutely amazing and came out on a sizzling platter cooked perfectly, to our specifications. The waiter even offered to cut it in half for us, since it was enormous and enough for two ladies to share. When I made my reservation, I stated it was my daughter’s birthday. Not only did she receive a birthday card, but a beautiful mini decadent flourless chocolate cake, followed by delicious truffles. The waiter was so polite and eager to please. The manager even stopped over to confirm that we were enjoying our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious and great quality. Very nice atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff.
Excellent food and service. Unfortunately their sides are no longer included with their steaks, so it’s more expensive. Great for a special occasion though.
Our seafood appetizers were incredible as were the chopped salads. However, my 10 oz filet mignon was charred. I ordered medium and it was so bad, you couldn’t eat it. It should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen. It was covered in lump blue crab but the char was everywhere. It even smelled horribly burnt. I have eaten at Ruth Chris and Morten’s on several occasions.. this wouldn’t have happened there. I waited 15 minutes for a replacement. By then, my dinner companion had finished his meal and it just ruined everything. In addition, I wasn’t hungry anymore but couldn’t take it with me since we were traveling. Nothing was credited on our check. I didn’t ask but I shouldn’t have had to. The service was okay but not what I expect at a higher end establishment. Overall stick to the seafood and you will be fine.
We brought a family friend who recently lost her husband Wednesday night. We have been to your restaurant many times. Hostess was friendly and helpful service good . Your restaurant is beautiful which is one of the reasons we chose it. Bread which is the first representation of your meal was stale, tuna steak prepared rare had a hint of fishiness not firm and sweet. Bill with tip was $290, I’m happy to pay for good food but shouldn’t have to be your quality control department.
Consistently good. Always enjoy going here for a special dinner occasion.
Service and presentation was very good. The Kobe fish special was too salty.theblack grouper was very good.
All I can say is the service was excellent. Food was pretty standard and did not warrant the cost. I'm happy to spend any amount on a really great meal. This didn't happen.
I ordered my filet medium well. It came out very dry. The waiter took it back. The second filet was better but not by much.
I’ve never had a better steak! Great atmosphere and service!!
As usual, we had a great dinning experience. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. We will be back again... and again!
We were here for our wedding anniversary and the staff didn't disappoint. We were treated to a special night with an amazing meal and were left alone most of the night to enjoy the evening. The staff had perfect timing on keeping our glasses full and table clear of empty plates. Top notch service!
Food was excellent. Nice atmosphere. We sat in banquettes by bar and it was pretty quiet. Generous portions though I found the prices slightly high for Buffalo fine dining. Service was great - the waiter very tolerant of my dad’s jokes.
This was my second time going. Not as good as the first time. My fillet was a little on the fatty side. And the meatball starter seemed a little off, taste wise. First time I went it was worth it, this time, for the money, wish I would have gone somewhere else.
Pleased that we were seated promptly.Seating was comfortable.Enjoyed that all courses were not rushed and we could enjoy each others company and dinner.Only criticism we had was room very dark and had difficulty in seeing menu.Especially liked onion rings and peanut butter dessert I had.Service was very good.
It was a lovely night, my birthday dinner I chose this restaurant because of recommendations from friends. We had a terrific experience from the moment we walked in the door to the time we left our experience was excellent. The host took us to the table and presented a handwritten bday card, then the back waiter brought us water and a basket of fresh baked bread. The waiter took our drink order, reviewed the dinner specials and took our order. Our drinks arrived promptly and the appetizer shortly thereafter. Dinner was delivered hot and as ordered the rack of lamb was wonderful! As a Birthday treat the waiter surprised me with a flourless chocolate cake with a dollop of fresh whipped cream, delicious! We will return. This is a must see restaurant .
Food was delicious but the water server was more attentive then our waiter. Also we were not offered a dessert menu after our meal. Overall food was great, service was sub par.
Steak was a bone in strip. This was the saltiest steak I've ever had. They so overdid it with the salt that I was wondering what they were trying to cover up. I would do this again.
