a campervan and the steak is main reason for visiting Clacton. keep it up

The food at Black Rock is exceptional, as are the staff, this is our favourite place to eat, we would highly recommend Black Rock.

I took my son, who is a type 1 diabetic. The staff were really accommodating, and couldn't do more to help. Really friendly and happy to answer questions etc.

First visit... definitely not the last. The food was absolutely delicious. Very generous portions that made they exceptional value. Lovely waitress who was friendly and polite. Bit of a hidden treasure that deserves more custom. Definitely recommended.

Felt the food was overpriced for what we got. Had trouble getting waitresses attention as they seem to be standing around a lot.

I’m not first time in the this restaurant. Food it’s very nice. Staff very helpful. I’m very happy.

Was sat very close to the next table, not social distanced, and in front of the entrance, so was in a draft the whole evening.
Starter was lovely, myself and my partner shared the prawns and calamari. Enjoyable.
Main we had the ribs and did not enjoy them, the sauce was over powering and couldn't taste anything else, coleslaw was amazing though.
Desert was nice, shared the chocolate fudge cake and honeycome cheesecake.
Overall wasn't impressed, but was pleasant.

Really nice place which me and my partner thoughly enjoyed. Courses were brought out with enough time between but not too much. Atmosphere and music were both great. Shame its so far away from us.

Adhering to COVID guidelines which was great to see. Very friendly, great service and great food. Will definitely be back

I had a great experience the steak was slightly over cooked but the quality and taste surpassed that fault, great taste, great service, no issues with any staff they was very polite and assertive. I am planning my next visit very soon

This little restaurant is a must. 20oz steak cooked on a rock- was amazing 😉 honeycomb cheesecake delicious. Staff were attentive and efficient. From out of the area so been looking forward to this return visit and now can’t wait to revisit. Other dishes on the menu look great and reasonably priced. Highly recommended

Always good as usual. Regularly use black rock and is always fantastic.

We came here with our 2 children and they were very accommodating.. the steak on a stone was out of this world.. we are now booking for my 30th in November.

Was in there for almost 2 hours, took an hour for a starters to arrive, then another 40 mins for our mains to arrive, they forgot all of our extras and didn’t even get a sorry or anything, just questioned everything, Poor food, poor timing, overall POOR

Food was amazing as always! I had the fillet steak cooked to order and it was so tasty would definitely recommend. The waitresses were very attentive and they were so lovely and I will be returning very Soon.

Quite A few things unavailable from the menu which in this climate is maybe understandable . Server was lovely . Noisy kids banging their seats unfortunately and their Parents just left it. I even blamed my poor kids at one point as the noise travelled around the room. Maybe some padding on the bottom of the booth seating too stop kids banging the backs of the seats with their feet.
