About Blacklock City
Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails for a fiver and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. Bookings: Monday - Friday Bookings for lunch from 12-3pm Bookings for dinner from 5-11pm Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays - Closed.

Blacklock City Ratings and Reviews
I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the service superb it is a meat eaters delight.
Would recommend the all in sharing plate, succulent pieces of meat, well cooked and seasoned.
The side dishes are lovely and they have a very good selection.
You cannot leave before trying an old fashioned cocktail from the trolley.
This was my Third visit with different Company each time and they have all really enjoyed the experience.
Reasonably priced as well.
Not recommended for vegetarians obviously!
First and much anticipated visit and was NOT disappointed! We chose the 'All In' option which is effectively a selection of 3 canapes each, followed by a plate piled high with a massive selection of chops and then side orders and sauces. The service was brilliant - friendly and attentive without being overbearing and staff took time to chat with us as we were leaving. Would highly recommend and cant wait to go back for a Sunday lunch in Feb which I've been waiting to do for ages!
Service outstanding. Our waitress (whose name I didn't catch sadly) was attentive, without being over-beaeing, efficient and friendly. The food was great also, a little pricey but it is in London so is to expected. Perfect find if you would like treat someone.
Had a great lunch with a friend - the 650g bone in Sirloin was excellent.
had booked and advised it was a birthday lunch- Blacklock were lovely and gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco and a White Choc Cheesecake Dessert with a candle. these gestures make it a memorable place to go - and the attention to the occasion means I will definitely return.
A busy venue, lots of boozy business lunches when we visited (but it is in the heart of the city and the week before Christmas).
The staff went above and beyond. Were welcoming, accommodating and made our family lunch experience! The £20 pp ‘all the chops’ deal was brilliant. A meat-lovers mega meal.
Maybe try booking outside of regular business lunch/after work drink times (12-3pm or 5-7pm) if you want to try for a little less busy atmosphere?
We came here the week before Christmas, and it was easy to get a table booking. It was conveniently located next to the Skygarden building. I have been to the Soho branch but this was my first time at the City branch. Nice ambience and the staff were all very friendly. Great cocktails, highly recommend. We went for the "all in", large plate of tasty chops to share - good value! We struggled to finish the whole plate of chops! The sides (chips, BBQ gems and sweet potatoes) were really good, though wished the portions were larger considering we were sharing. Overall, I recommend this branch if you want to go to Blacklock as you can reserve a table for the evening service . You have a better chance of getting a table here than at their Soho branch.
We've enjoyed very much our dinner at Blacklock's. The food is fresh and tasty, and the service was super nice and friendly. They offered us complimentary dessert when they heard our flight back home was cancelled and it was our anniversary. Thank a lot to the great staff, we had a lovely evening although being stuck in London.
I'd been to Blacklock in Soho before and thought the food and service was nice, but Blacklock City knocked my socks off! I think given its location it gets less busy than Blacklock Soho and that means more attention to detail, better service and a restaurant which is busy but not heaving. We went on a Monday not realising that on Mondays they offer "Butchers prices" so all of the Beef is £5/100gs. We had a 1.1 kilo Porterhouse which was to die for and excellent value.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time . The level of service and quality food ensured our party had a great lunch and at a reasonable cost. Our waitress talked us through the menu and enabled us to sample a great selection of high quality food . I would reccomend this restaurant
My friends and I go on a tour of local meat places we call 'Meat Ups'., with a different venue every few weeks. We go all around London to find the best places to eat (and it helps we love whiskey). Blacklock was I think our second favourite out of about 30 in terms of food (only just) and is genuinely about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of all the other restaurants that came close. Old Fashioneds for a fiver?! It's unbelievable value, staff are always friendly and the starters are small but delicious. The meat is absolutely fantastic, pointless to come here if you're a veggie really though.
I'll stop going on about it but make sure you have the beef drizzled chips, and enjoy the meat juice soaked bread at the bottom of the 'All In'. In terms of Meat Ups - this is the only place we've ever been to more than once....
Fantastic, staff we very friendly & super helpful as it was no trouble finding us a table we were happy with (did not really want the one we were allocated) but they even went as far as going out to buy some olives from a local shop for us, at present these are not something they offer.
Well worth a visit & very good value for money.
