Blackstones Steakhouse Stamford
Only the best USDA prime beef is used and every cut is carefully dry-aged to provide the perfect concentration of taste, arriving at your table on a piping hot plate, sizzling with flavor.
Never met a better server than Mohammed or had better veal chops than we did last night at this lovely dinner restaurant.. Even the sauce that was offered for the veal chops was the best sauce I have ever used. It was fruity and just hit the spot. Can't wait to go back. The parking spot just outside the front door capped a beautiful night on the town and made it that more lovely since there was a cold breeze.
Comfortable semi circle booths in bar area. Great for catching a game.
My steak was over cooked and by the time it came out it was already cold, as well as, the baked potato being rock hard. My waitress came to the table only to take our order and never came back. Go to Capital Grille instead
Amazed with the food and service.
Very good quality steaks !
It’s not Prime, but right now it’s also better than Cap Grill.
Good table separating
Prices high, but not to bad
Was a god experience
We dined here just after Stamford moved back into the COVID "red zone, meaning reduced restaurant capacity to 50%. However, their idea of moving to 50% capacity meant squeezing all of their patrons into the bar area and closing the main dining room, which defeats the entire purpose. They filled nearly all the tables and booths, meaning no distancing. When we arrived it wasn't crowded so we didn't give it much thought, then as they started filling up we realized they were not planning to distance dining groups at all. By the time we realized this, our food had already been ordered and was being served. The waiters' masks were often below their noses, and several times we even saw their mouths. This had been one of our few "go to" places during these times because of its spaciousness. Never again. Frankly we were horrified. I emailed them privately after our experience but never received a response.
I very rarely write reviews, and the few times I do it's usually because the restaurant, hotel, etc. was exceptional. However, people need to know how this restaurant is currently conducting its business during these times, then they can make an individual choice as to how safe or unsafe they would feel.
Met my son while visiting town. Great Covid controls in place. Great meal!
Great heat lamps
Sat outside due to COVID concerns. Street was very loud and no real ambiance at all.
Service was not what is expected at a top notch steak house. Level of detail was lacking.
Don’t see myself going back anytime soon.
Our waiter was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for us to make sure we enjoyed our meal! We will definitely be back
Birthday dinner for a friend
Lots of people without masks moving around the bar and through the dining room. Steak was wrong, ordered NY strip and got a bone in rib eye - charged for NY Strip. Both apps came out wrong and were quickly corrected We have dined here before and were pleased - this was not a good experience.
We enjoyed our dinner
From the moment I arrived I was pampered! The service is outstanding!! The food is delicious. It was an amazing evening.
Server not trained in steakhouse dining
Drinks and wine menu were not offered
Had to ask for everything
The service was awful and the music was blarring no attention to detail server was not attentive or understanding or at all competent
Great food, just very pricey! Four of us....3 appetizers, drinks, dinner and 2 desserts $550
Jaime your waiter was very attentive and did a great job. The food was delicious for both myself and my friend.
Our server Shirley and the floor Manager were great and very attentive. Show a strong interest in serving us and all guest with their knowledge and assistance.
One thing they didn't acknowledge was our 54th wedding anniversary which was on my Open table reservation.
I would not come back nor I would recommend this place until administration is changed.
- Server took orders without masks on occasions, which made one of the individuals at our party concerned to the point of returning the food
- Server had a rude attitude rushing people into making decisions
- From appetizers to food it took about 1 hour of wait time
- Food came in cold
- Food did not come all together
- At the end, when we asked for the manager no one seemed to take responsibility
- Finally, someone came to hear our concern and no action was taken (we think it was not the actual manager)
Our waitress Shea was excellent
Food was great but she took it to another level of fun!!
Food was decent. Service was terrible. Place needs to get their sh** together.
Food was very good, it was Restaurant Week and Blackstone's blew away their competition. Varied menu and food still cooked perfectly. Special kudos to Jasmina (s?) the bartender who also was our server, she was great.
our second HUGE disappointment at blackstones. never got food though everyone elses looked lovely whenever it did arrive to their table. feb 14 we waited over an hour for our appetizer, didnt get our drinks until after that arrived. aug 22 we gave it another shot, horrific waited an hour for our reservation 815 p arrived at 745p just to have our table given to someone who got there after us. waited an additional 15 mins now going on 930 pm and when approaching the host the phone rang and she told my bf hold on and took call so we just left. terrible every time we have tried.
We waited 45 minutes even thought we had a RESERVATION. There was zero social distancing going on through out the restaurant. We eventually gave up waiting and left.
Took over 3 hours to complete our meal. The first server took our drink orders. 20 mins later another server told us our original server was crying so he had to take our order. We ordered the restaurant week menu and it took at least 30 mins between each course. The food was good. When we finally received our dessert... (after seeing a barrage of beautifully plated desserts pass) it was a frozen chocolate cake from a box and a pre-made cheesecake dumped on a plate. No garnishes. Definitely not the chocolate mousse we ordered. No explanations, just dumped on the table. No apologies, barely any attention.
We went for our anniversary and although they knew it, no special touches were added like they do in other local steak houses. The food and atmosphere was very nice but our waiter was inattentive.
Restaurants week menu was great
Great prix fixe menu for restaurant week. Only hiccup was getting charged $250 for a bottle of wine we didn't order, so REVIEW your bill.
Our Server was excellent, attentive and pro-active.
My sister and I visited Stamford for the weekend. We came to Blackstone on our last night as suggested by the Concierge at our hotel. We were not disappointed. We both started off with the Caesar She had the rack of Lamb, while I had the filet with lemon pepper shrimp as our entree. We shared the creamed spinach and mash potatoes for sides. As desert we had the lemon sorbet and carrot cake. Everything was delicious!
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The waiter was absent the entire meal. We waited over an hour to get our entrees and ordered no appetizers. Both of our meals and sides came out cold and when we told the manager, he refused to acknowledge my presence because I am a woman and would only speak to my boyfriend. He was insistent that we still needed to pay for everything even though we didn't eat anything. In the end, he still made us pay for half the bill.
We didn’t have our order taken until 20 min later. We waited for our food for over an hour - the kitchen was behind and our waitress just kept apologizing. We had to take our dinner to go we were too upset to continue eating there. It was our first time out to dinner in 6 months with a baby at home. Nothing was done to comp an appetizer or anything. We had an issue at capital grille for lunch and they comped our entire meal. This place is disappointing. The tables are also too close together and not properly social distanced. 3 people to the table left of us asked to be moved bc of the close proximity. We wanted to give this place a chance and now it’s off our list. We tipped properly and wished they showed the same courtesy. This was our last transaction there.
Perfect for a birthday celebration. Attentive waitstaff, great service. Drinks and food were great. First time here and we will be back again!
Blackstone is our favorite restaurant and our first dining out experience in these crazy times was as delicious as ever. Eddie and staff never disappoint.
A 14 oz filet grilled to perfection? Now that’s hard to find. Awesome experience, and great staff. Also enjoyed the small selection of IPAs. Hope you guys get more on draft soon. Thanks again!
We were out to dinner with 7 family members to celebrate a birthday and what should have been a really nice evening turned out to be long and disappointing time. We were seated outdoor and though the they were close to capacity with all their tables outside, the service was very slow. It took so long for appetizers and our meal to finally come out. Our server also got two of the entree orders wrong and just tried to ply us with another glass of wine to smooth things over. When the check arrived, they didn’t even take off an entree from the bill or anything. We had to complain before they discounted part of an entree and took off a drink, which roughly came to the cost of an entree. It was just an overall disappointing experience.
Popped in for Sunday dinner; ate inside it was too hot outside. Server was perfect, was there when we were finishing a drink to ask if we needed another plus she had a great personality. The food: perfect! Steaks came perfectly cooked as did the sides and the short rib was super.
Everything was perfect, the staff and the food!!I will be back soon!
