Expensive cocktails, but the cost is more than made up for by the classy atmosphere and convenient location for a pre-theatre drink. Hard to find the entrance - but that was part of the fun. Also - not too noisy - which was a big plus.
Tried to do a walk in at about 6.30pm but was told "no tables available" by the woman on the door after she gave me a bit of a dirty look up and down. I was dressed more than adequately for the venue. I went on open table and booked a table at which point she pretended she couldn't find it. tbh it felt like it was a bit of a racial rejection. After we proved we had a reservation she begrudgingly let us in and there were several tables free that remained free throughout our visit. Cocktails were great but not sure I'd like to go again solely on the woman on the door.
This was our second visit to the Blind Spot, we came back after having a really great first experience. This time round, customer service from the front desk was non existent, and once we sat down it was just really slow and flat. We asked to be moved from the stools to one of the empty booths, to be told they were reserved or held as first priority for hotel guests- but no one arrived to claim them during our booking. The food we ordered was still cold in the centre, and whilst the waiter very kindly replaced these and removed them from our bill- the second order was still cold in the centre. Once our drinks arrived I asked for a straw, and was still waiting while my partner was half way through his, so I got up and got it myself.
Great ambience is still there, but recommend booking for groups 3+ to get the comfiest seats in the house. For the prices being charged, I would expect more, but probably wouldn’t bother returning after this experience.
Interesting place and good that you can book a table for late drinks. Very pricey and watch out fo 15% service charge. Service not acceptable for a 5 star, get the feeling they only want a certain type of person as customers. Nice atmosphere though and would go again. Can’t rate the food as we only had drinks.
We had a perfect cocktail hour with amazing drinks delivered by the lovely staff at Blind Spot. The cocktails are crafted to perfection, favourites included the perfectly named Marrakech that evoked memories of souks and the old town and the scrummy Warsaw.
No food menus offered but cocktails were good.
First we got served raw chicken. Then instead of shrimps we got octopus. The waitress seemed inexperienced and couldn't recommend what is good to order. She was very nice and polite though. After all that our bill got messed up and we didn't get the 3 for 15 offer as supposedly you have to say in a comment while booking you are going to use that offer. But! The menu isn't available on the website to there is no way of knowing that offer even exist and on the menu at the place it doesn't say you have to specify you order that rather than a set of 3 appetizers. In the end manager was so kind to amend our bill but still we had to discuss it quite a lot which was unpleasant. The cereal vibe and feels is really nice as is the staff. But. The quality of service is not as expected for such a place. Wouldn't recommend to avoid unpleasant experience of having to justify everything you do and order.
We had amazing apres opera drinks in a wonderful atmosphere
Very nice cocktail bar with music
Great to drop in at the end of our evening, it felt hidden and private.
Cocktails great, live DJ was good & service was attentive not intrusive.
Overall lovely end to our evening.
I love the cosy feel of this place; warm and comfortable. Waitresses knowledgeable about cocktails. Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat but cocktails and snacks were delicious!
Shockingly expensive nibbles and that's on top of the mega expensive cocktails and wine. I ordered the chicken wings. Maybe they should be called winglets. 3 tiny wings, they must have had to trim off some of the wing to get it that small. 3 tiny dumplings for £7 another rip-off. The calamari was very good and in a good sized bowl until you realise that it's sitting on top of some salad leaves! Very disappointed with the food. Wine list is great and my friend's cocktail got an "ok" verdict. No real reason to return...
I would only recommend this place due to its beautiful design, loved it!
However the service is terrible! Waiters are talking over your conversation with other team members and in a different language. It was 3 of us and once the two of us got our orders, the waitress instead of coming closer to my third friend to take his order (it was a bit loud already because of the music), she just started shouting over us? Our table was in the middle so it was much easier for her to just come to his side and take the order rather than shouting over our conversation? She was a bit weird? Maybe she had a bad day, as she just looked quite miserable...
overall, the ambience and the place is pretty amazing, just the service was poor which was quite disappointing -especially in a place like that where this should be a key.
Nice idea with a 'secret' door to this bar in the St Martin's Lane Hotel. It's quite dark, and when we went at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening before dinner, fairy quiet and chilled with a few empty tables. It's low, comfortable seating and table service, with an extensive cocktail list. It worked well for what we needed...but the service was quite slow (not enough menus for the four of us!) and we asked for some nuts / snack and nothing ever materialised. The cocktails were good - pricey. I would say that the main drawcard is the fun of this being a secret venue, in a nice hotel in a great location. We would probably go back if we wanted a pre-dinner drink in the area.
Poor decor, champagne served was from previous day (the waiter replaced it), no bites and nibbles, and the music was not great.
Great secret bar. Amazing cocktails and atmosphere. Lost a star due to overly loud and incongruous music selection which didn’t match relaxed vibe. ( thursday night)
Great cocktails and tapas. Quite pricey, but to be expected in this part of London. Would definitely return.
Food is a little pricey for what it is, drinks prices are as expected for central London. Lovely ambience - for a night cap. Definitely somewhere you go before dinner or after dinner. Service wasn’t the best on this occasion, but its usually good.
A beautiful bar, but pricey. The cocktails are very "experimental" and maybe we choose badly but neither of us was wowed by the ones we had (2 each).
Overall this is a really funky venue. The old bar has been sealed off at the end and interior made very dark with clever use of low voltage spotlights so the ambience is great whilst still being able to see where you’re going, reading menus etc
Staff are friendly and efficient. The menu is not extensive but what it has is all really delicious. The sting comes with the size vs value. All of the food portions are TINY, yet very expensive. 3 tiny cheese sticks, 3 tiny dumplings, 3 small koftas, etc, every dish a minimum of £7. With 3 cocktails, the bill was over £180 for 8 dishes and we were still hungry.
I get that this is the St Martins Lane hotel with Asia de Cuba next door but this was extortionate
It was a little dark (I think that’s the point though)but apart from that it was perfect :-)
Lovely cocktails although on the pricey side especially after service charge added to bill. Very dark and hard to read menu. Good service and comfortable seating.
A reasonable cocktail bar with a good range of "originals" but also the ability to mix the "classics" quite well. Service was prompt and polite, but asking £4.50 for a bowl of nuts seems penny-pinching to say the least when the drinks are well upwards of £10 each. Food marked as poor as "not applicable" isn't available.
Its hideaway nature may be slightly OTT, and didn't seem to keep out the table of noisy "yahoos" who clearly wanted to be the focus of everyone's attention but weren't actually attention-worthy. Perhaps management should have asked them to pipe down or push off - no-one else was behaving that loudly and they were distracting and they detracted from the overall otherwise pleasant ambience.
Good evening spot with great cocktails. Didn't eat but couldn't post a review without rating the food
When I went there you gave me a flower cake and not a gluten free cake.So for next time can I have a gluten free cake please.
The staff were so helpful and friendly. Couldn’t have done more for us x
Booked a table for 4 of us for pre-Theatre drink. We had great cocktails and some light bites. All were delicious and good quality. Service was prompt and polite.
Snacks weren't great, cocktail too small but ambience was good. Suitable for pre dinner drinks or night cap.
Very nice, great choice of cocktails, in a fun way. Great place for a date.
Cool bar, good service and drinks. Prices are about what you’d expect. Music is a bit loud for easy conversation.
A very dark bar room set in an office block. 90s music played too loud for conversation. Cocktails outrageously expensive even for London. Don't go here, far better cocktail places in Soho and Covent Garden nearby.
Really nice ambience, but the music blaring above our heads was so loud we left after one drink. Who wants to shout and lip read on a Friday evening?
Popped in for pre dinner drinks, as going to an event nearby.
It was very early, so not too many people in, but I imagine that the atmosphere would be great when the bar was full and with the live music later in the evening.
Great cocktails from an extensive selection. Service was excellent, and the staff were able to recommend some cocktails based around our favourite ingredients.
Would definitely visit again when up in central London.
Phenomenal cocktails and incredibly friendly and prompt service! Made my 30th very memorable! Will return!
Booked for Sunday 26th November at 21.00 turned up and it was closed for a private function.
Would be good if Open table and the venue had communicated with each other to avoid this happening as was very inconvenient
Great little bar tucked away behind a secret door. Lively music, delicious cocktails and great service but it was so dark and menu was written in such faint print that you couldn’t read it.
Great cocktails and excellent service. Thought the decor could be a bit more interesting.
The ambiance and drinks were great, and our waitress was wonderful!
We went after reading other reviews for a good cocktail. The bar was great, but after 9 PM on Friday & Saturday they have a DJ and play loud modern music. This is generally not the atmosphere you want from a dimly lit, well furnished cocktail bar in my opinion. Drinks were great, and it would have been great if there wasn’t a DJ. This bar is attached to a hotel as well.
Beautiful "secret" bar that makes amazing cocktails. They knew it was my husband's birthday, and without prompting, they brought over freshly made doughnuts with a birthday candle. It was such a nice touch. Would definitely recommend for dates and quiet drinks
