Blu Alehouse - Woodbridge
Even though they were short staffed, our server was very attentive. The food and drinks came out promptly and were delicious. Super fun atmosphere.
Food was good however the restaurant did not have any heat on a very cold night.
I’ll be back
Food was great! Nice atmosphere. Workers were wonderful.
Lighting is a bit harsh and noise level is about there. Plenty of beer choices and food was good but the maple infused dip for the sweet potatoes was kicking! Get it!
group of 4, 2 orders of Steak Sandwich not very good.
Plus I asked for no mushrooms-got mushrooms & too rare.
The food was very good. Unfortunately they were lacking staff and our server was also the food runner and bus boy as well. This caused delays in ordering and attentive service.
Nice place with good food and drink but we wouldn’t rush back until the service issues are corrected.
Service was horrendous!!!
Quality of the food and the service was outstanding as usual. Quickly becoming one of my favorite places for a meal.
I’ve always passed by this restaurant and I finally had to chance to experience it and all its glory! The actual location was bigger than I thought and the ambiance was too cute. John was our waiter and he took care of us! We were a bit complicated but he exceeded our expectations! The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were pretty good too. It was apparently country night so that was fun to experience! I’ll definitely be returning with all my friends and family!
We have been here twice and loved it both times! Good and service are both excellent! Looking forward to going back.
Service was fantastic, terrific draft beer list, nice menu - wish I lived closer!
Atmosphere was pleasant and vibrant. We enjoyed the food. The service was outstanding.
There were several issues that arose…our side entree came out wrong, there was an extensive wait, and our server charged us for the wrong guest check. The establishment made us whole and offered a $5 credit for our next visit. The kitchen seemed to have several issues and when a Margarita flight came to apologize for the wait, our initial reaction was impressed. Until a server, not ours, told us that wasn’t supposed to go to us, as if that was another error we had any control over.
This is a GREAT place to have drinks and eat!!!! Keep up with sports scores too!! Food was FABULOUS.... appetys, dinner and dessert... and special mixed drinks!!!! THUMBS UP
Cuban quesadillas where awesome!
Waitress was wonderful & atmosphere was great for a 2nd date
Our server Matt was awesome and super accommodating of our giant group of kids!!!
I loved the ambiance. It’s open & airy. However, the food overall was very fair. The burger was dry. The artichoke dip hardly had any spinach. It tasted like fake cheese. The veggie burger was bland & the batter was very doughy. Not the best food.
Had fun. The staff was very welcoming & the food was very good!
Cocktails, wines and appetizers along with side dishes are all delicious and tempting. Desserts as well as dessert drink were lovely too
I would have given a 5 star rating but the AC was not working which made it very uncomfortable.
Mark was excellent and patient with our chatty and delayed table
Great food. Great server (Amanda). Great sangria.
Felt like a segregated restaurant . Where they sit all the minorities behind the wall.
The food was great and our server was outstanding. I’ll definitely come back
Our first visit to Blu Ale , Avenel, NJ, restaurant was terrific! Our waitress was very informative and explained some of the more tastier and satisfying meals. We weren’t disappointed. The service was great and our food was great. Presentation was picture perfect and absolutely no room for dessert!!
Nice place. Awesome menu. Will revisit to try new items!!
Disclaimer-I’m picky. So, the food was ok. we got four apps, I would not recommend the fried mozzarella but the fried Mac and cheese, calamari and the shrimp with mango were very good. I had the pork chop with the potatoes, the chop was delicious but the potatoes were dry and burnt so that taste was off putting. We also had the filet migon which was very good, the lamb rack which was “eh”, the short ribs in the Mac and cheese was tasty, and the steak frites was “eh”. The sauce that came with that was too vinegary. My daughter got the blu shrimp (I think it was called) it was pan fried shrimp served over angel hair. She sent it back. The sauce was watery and lacked flavor, the shrimp tuff, and the angel hair is hard to cook in a restaurant if you like al dente, so it was too soft. We didn’t have dessert, though we did want to, however the restaurants ac was broke and it was just way to hot to sit there anymore. That was disappointing cause the fried Oreos looked yummy. Our server was nice and she did make recommendations, she knew the menu. What we didn’t care for though is the no mask wearing and leaning on the table to talk to us. The servers didn’t wear masks. I know it’s now optional and it was very hot in the restaurant, but when you’re dealing with food I feel they should be on. And don’t lean over customers. You don’t know how people are feeling with the mandates. Everyone has their own ideas and feelings about it, that’s ok. Just with food involved and customers are able to remove at the table then keep with the social distancing when taking orders or speaking with the customers.
We don’t go out much for dinner cause we are very picky. So overall each plate had something on it that was good, but it was too hot and lackadaisical for us to venture back there. It’s not worth the 30 minute drive or the money. Sorry.
The hostess was very accommodating to my varying requests for table settings. The server we had was attentive but not overbearing, we were able to put our orders in and receive what we asked for in the way it was supposed to be handled. Hot food was hot cold items were cold, happily satisfied with everything.
Service was not so great and food was just mediocre big menu but not a whole lot of variety. I hear it’s really great for brunch we were there for dinner on a Saturday night no wait I guess I get why there was no way because it’s not so great.
I haven’t been to this place in a while but my girlfriend and I both agreed we’d be coming back. Jordan is an excellent waiter and helped in creating a fun and enjoyable time at Blu Ale House Woodbridge.
Service unfortunately was a bit slow even though the restaurant was not that busy
SO glad they finally reopened!!!!!! Tried one of the weekend specials, and boy was I glad I did!!! The Prime Rib Risotto was to die for!!! This will be one of our main go to restaurants once again!!!
It was an eventful evening because of the magnitude of the day and what was expected from the fight we went to see. But clean and pretty professional at least so we will be going back soon.
My husband and I went out to dinner with another couple the night went went to the Blue Ale House for my birthday. I have never been there before but I chose there to see the band "The Benjamins" who were supposed to go on at 10pm. We arrived at 7:45pm, I made a reservation, and had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated. We sat upstairs which was so crowded it was awkward to get around the tables to sit. We were squeezed in and it was very uncomfortable. One waitress kept bumping into my friend everytime she walked by. My friend ended up saying something to her because she asked what her problem was when she saw her looking at her. Our waiter who we saw was also a bartender hardly came to the table and forgot things when he did. We ended up leaving at 10:30pm and "The Benjamins " were just going on. I was very disappointed this night ruined my birthday dinner. We will never go there again. Walking out, the security guard even said it was too crazy with too many people that he didn't know what he was going to. Never again.
Tried the brunch for the first time and wasn't too bad. Its a little pricey, especially if your not going to pig out. I have eaten there before and the food is always good. Figured I'd try the brunch. $19.00 per person and $9 for kids. For the amount we ate, was not worth it. I'd go again, but will make sure I'm real hungry!
Fun evening with friends with a great band
Great menu, food was delicious, nice craft beer list, terrific service, fun atmosphere.
It was my birthday celebration! Overall things were good. However I ate the pork chop which I have gotten several times but this time cooked differently with spicy peppers, not cherry tomatoes. It was very spicy and when discussed with server she suggested a side of sour cream as opposed to a new entree. That was disappointing.
Place was not crowded but seated by two other parties, so it felt stuffy.
It was a nice night but my customer experience was let down.
