Ambiance, Craft Cocktails, Delicious Food and Outstanding Service!
Great ambiance. Comfortable seating. Delicious food with good portions
As always staff. And food was outstanding.
From the ambiance to the food, this place is great. Service was excellent. I appreciated the way My Girlfriend and I were treated for her birthday. If available please sit in the round main section, your experience will be elevated.
A bit pricey but high quality food and preparation. Always a good meal at Blue Grotto. Love the Ceaser Salad with fresh white anchovy. YUM. Steak was cooked to perfection. Fish dishes also cooked perfectly and tasty. Delicious sides. Will be back! We will however, very much miss Allesandro who apparently has moved on. His service and charm straight out of Italy always making us feel like family will be a tough act to follow for his replacement!
Food was exceptional and service is was the perfect amount.
All the food and cocktails were great- kind of pricey but still very good. The ambience inside the bar/dining room is amazing- very beautiful.
This was our fourth visit to BG in as many years. If you get seated at the corner 2 top facing the servers station asked to be moved . We did not and I regret that decision. We were the third table of the v evening to be seated . We got to hear the noisy kitchen in the lead up to service and one f bomb was dropped , two dish crashes were heard. All the servers were touching their face masks. One busser who was wearing only one vinyl food service glove on her left hand repeatedly touched her face w her right hand and used that hand to set silverware on tables. The food runner wiped his hands on his pant multiple times. Staff hygiene needs to be addressed. The food was ok. There are much better fine dining Italian restaurants in our area. Very expensive for what we were served. We ordered Pasta bolognese which was $32 and served in a glorified cereal bowl. The Caesar salad was $14 and the size of a side salad. You could eat just as well for less at a local pizzaria.
Excellent food and service
Food was not as good as before. Calamari was too sweet. Fries were mixture of dried out and soggy. Not a fan of steak pizzaiola
Great food and service(Ulysses the waiter was great)
The food never disappoints. Service is always subpar but once our server last night realized we were his table the service was excellent. Will always be a repeat customer, the food keeps us coming back.
So good to be back! Food and service exceptional!
A chic upscale restaurant in Oceanport with comfortable seating, pleasant architecture, great service by waitress Liz Murphy, and delectable food from the outstanding Chef & staff of Blu Grotto.
Will be back with friends as this will be an easy recommendation to anyone!
The dining area looks like a huge gazebo! Lovely. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The three of us each ordered a different entre and I can't tell you which one was best - they were all terrific. (yes we like to taste each others dishes!)
This place never disappoints! Starting at pre dinner drinks at the bar through to dessert, everything is always high quality!
Great experience from service to food - great menu and great management - kudos to Casey
Great date night place. Very cozy and romantic. Would definitely return.
Food is always good here. A little irritated that they made us pay for a $90 bottle of wine that was bad. I told them it was corked but because they poured for 6 of us and we each took a sip I would pay for it to be nice but they took me up on that. Will take a break from here for a while.
We had a delightful dinner. Only complaint was a long wait for the check. Also 4 of 5 got water. We had to ask for the 5th glass to be filled. The food was exemplary. The plating was very attractive. The ambiance was lovely . Fortunately in the dining room you could not hear the loud “music “ coming from the Beer garden.
Love love love. Will be back
Not our first visit here.
My appetizer of the beet salad were wonderful. It was properly dressed so that it was not oozing. My boyfriend had the shoshito peppers and they were very good, but I think a bit overpriced.
For dinner I had the shrimp scampi. It was served over spinach with white beans. The shrimp were a very good size and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the pork chop and broccoli rabe. Again, everything was cooked perfectly.
All of the food was seasoned very well and tasted great.
As always fabulous food and service
Sent back scallops that were undercooked
The food was excellent. The service was slow at times. I would definitely go back.
Beautiful setting, greeted warmly and seated promptly. They took the whole order at once but paced it appropriately. Food was outstanding and wonderful specials additional to menu. Drinks great and interesting wine selection.
excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere!
Rachel our server was phenomenal!
I enjoyed my dinner, drinks and service. Highly recommend. Will be returning.
It's a home run every time always consistent great place
Everything was wonderful except it was very loud and hard to have a conservation.
The food was fantastic! High ceilings with glass, so pretty!
We were seated right in front of kitchen door - not a place where I would want to sit for the price of the food. Waiters/waitresses wore jeans and blue golf shirt - not what I would expect someone to wear as a server for a supposedly an elegant ambiance. Chairs maybe nice but the placemats in the table not appealing.
It was my first time to the Blue Grotto and I was pleasantly surprise. Our waitress Jenny was great! You have the choice of eating outside or inside, we choice to eat outside since it was a beautiful night out. The only complaint was they had a band that was ok but it was a bit noisy and the music was more on the younger side, not your typical dinner music. The food was very good, I really wanted the Sea Bass but they ran out. So I had the fluke franchise and it was very good. I definitely would go back to Blue Grotto and hopefully this time they will have the Sea Bass.
Food was mediocre for the price
Had a great time- food was good and small issue was corrected without any trouble. I would def go back
We are always guaranteed an excellent meal and service.
They are always making delicious additions to the menu.
It is our go to place for a consistently great meal.
Bolognese wasn’t good. Chilean sea bass was delicious.
