First venture out, Simon and his team did a great job with service and making us feel welcome. We will be returning soon.

First night out since lockdown lifted. Staff were great, attentive and food was amazing. Very well organised and safe.

The setting was pub ambiance and very clean.The food was well presented and everything was hot and tasty .Being dog friendly makes it a good stopoff after walking in the area.☺☺

Very pleasant meal, went for Sunday lunch. Food was lovely, plenty of it as well. Good beer and some nice wines.

Nice place, food excellent, waited quite a while for first drink, but fine after. Food was great!

We always love going to the boars head. The food, service and atmosphere is lovely and cosy. You can pair your visit with a walk round Lyme park which is close by

Never been before but looked at reviews and decided to try for Sunday roast. Doesn’t look great from outside but was lovely inside, kids loved their menu and our roast was superb

Very nice meal and excellent Timothy Taylor beer. We booked through Open Table but the pub had no record of our booking even though we had received a confirmation. Fortunately they found is a table.

Regular visitors always please with whole situation

We took our very well behaved dogs but there were several dogs who were vocal at times and one was encouraged by the owner to play with one of our dogs. Staff were attentive and Sunday roast tasty. A bit busy for us so may go mid week next time.

Food was good pub food, I had a nut roast that was very good, lots of veg, even red cabbage. Service was good, staff were very attentive.
My only negative comment was that people coming into the pub didn’t abide to the request to stay by the table until approached by a staff member, they just queued by the bar! The staff were busy so didn’t always have time to get them seated quickly.

Very safe environment. Tables well spaced. Staff were friendly and smiley. Service was efficient and food was lovely. Would definitely go again soon 🙂

Best Roast Beef dinner I've had in a long time. Excellent service, friendly staff...dog friendly a bonus.

Good food, good service, adhered to all Covid secure measures. Very impressed.

A real proper authentic public house where the staff make you feel at home.
It does not feel like a mast produced conveyer belt type pub like so many do these days.
It's a pleasure to eat /drink or just sit and relax.

Had loads of lovely meals here in the past but the food I had last time was dried up and presented poorly. It was only a steak pie with mash which you can’t really get wrong but it was! Staff were great as usual and it won’t stop me going again but definitely needs sorting out.

Lovely pub. Would return next time we are in the area. Service and food was excellent. We all had the roast dinner which was delicious.

Excellent food and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was a bit slow in coming out and they had ran out of a few things on the menu but it was a bank holiday Monday and very busy. Will be returning on a quieter day. Very dog friendly

The service was excellent as was the food. Just a bit concerned about a large party of at least 10 that were not socially distancing and were rather noisy.

Great organisation and social distancing with the tables. Friendly and amazing staff. Top notch food. Would definitely return.
