Bodega - Leith
14-15 Albert Street, Edinburgh Midlothian, Scotland EH7 5HN.
An authentic, yet contemporary Mexican experience. Lovely food, lots of veggie options. All of it tasty!
Absolutely outstanding!! If you’re in the area it’s a must!!
I love this place. Amazing tapas, service and cocktails. The perfect way to unwind after a long week at work. Such a lovely vibe and so down to Earth too. I come here every week now!
I love the space and vibe. It smelled really good like some kind of refreshing incense. Pastel colours and design are something i really love. I always wanted to go there as it looked so good and I love mexican cuisine and ingredients. Unfortunately, I found a long clump of hair in one of my tacos but i was already full so it was okay. Also, you have the table for 2 hours only so arrive on time. The starters were really nice and i like the general concept of ordering more smaller things but two flavours of taco plus a starter (as advised) was too much for me.
Food was tasty but the drinks overpriced for the size- Using miniature glasses for a £8 negroni ??!!! And the wrong kind of glasses for margaritas :-( again much smaller than average
Service was a tad slow to begin with, recovered well during the course of the evening and the waitress told us that everything that could go wrong had, so I don’t expect it was their standard approach.
Food was very good and there was a great atmosphere in the place.
As always the Bodega empire delivers.
New premises is beautifully decorated & the food is as delicious as ever.
Not to mention great service :)
The tortilla where drowned in soy sauce making them soggy and inedible.
Where served flat on plate this needs to served better
First time in the bigger Bodega (loved the old one!) and we enjoyed the food. We were hoping to have tacos, hadn’t realised they were no longer being served. The ceviche was delicious and so were the margaritas!
First time back at the leith one since they moved into the new unit. They did not disappoint ! Food was amazing and the specials were particularly good. Only thing I would ask for would be a prosecco addition to the menu. The brut they have we didn't find particularly nice (but not their fault).
Soooo tasty. The best buffalo wings you will ever have.
Bodega is a lovely smallish restaurant down Leith Walk. The food was very tasty and extremely fresh. The service was good and our food arrived as promptly as can be expected when everything was cooked to order. The place seemed spotlessly clean. My only criticism was the noise level but it quietened down as the evening wore on.
Excellent food and ambience. Extremely good value and attentive staff. Really like the new premises. Glad it’s a bit bigger than previous spot. Managed to get booked fairly last minute on a Saturday. All in all very satisfied and will definitely be back.
Lovely margeritas, chips, but the tacos could have done some with additional seasoning. Flavours just weren't strong enough.
Been for dinner a couple times now, first time i was passing the place about 6pm mid week with my husband and we were told there was no tables as they were fully booked from 7pm so we would be rushed to give the table back. After explaining we were ok with a snack style meal rather than long sit down dinner service we were happily accomodated and tried a few different bites on the menu. As a big lover of Mexican street food i was really happy with the portions, the flavours and the textures all round. The servers were all extremely polite and made the experience pleasant even though we were there for a very short time. We returned a few weeks later, made a booking for a group this time round and were delighted with everything a second time round. The service ran smooth and again the food was great. I would have liked the "hot" salsa to have been a bit hotter and unfortunately there was no available chilli oils or hot sauces to add to the dishes ourselves so maybe that would be something that could be offered in future. I will absolutely be back again.
We’re so glad they’ve returned to Leith Walk. Our favourite eat in Edinburgh. Always such attention to detail, both in the food they deliver and the setting it’s provided in, excellent.
Fabulous restaurant, the variety of soft tacos are delicious as are the dips....New favourite place to go. Would absolutely recommend
Delicious food, friendly service and reasonable prices. What's not to like.
Fantastic food and great relaxed atmosphere. The Buffalo Chicken tacos are to die for! This was my second visit and I may well become a regular
What can I say... we just love Bodega. Love love love the new vibes in the new Leith restaurant.
Food was fabulous as always. Wee bit gutted it's only 1 bottle between 2 people for BYOB but as a result the margarita's were lovely. Just makes things a little more expensive.
Will definitely be back though!
Lovely fresh looking place. The chicken burrito was very tasty as was the wee can of gingerbeer!
Delicious food, we keep coming back. New place needs a bit more decor!
I'm a Celiac and the waiters knowledge of his menu was excellent.
Had a lovely evening here! Very tasty dishes with a good price tag (less than £50 for two people - 3 plates of tacos, one starter, one side dish, one dessert, and two beers). The staff were helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed my evening here and would definitely be back!
I would not recommend Bodega to any my friends as I want to keep this amazing place to myself. Me and my wife have been coming here for ages now and it’s our favourite place to eat. The service and the food are outstanding. The best taco in town!!!
Excellent food, service and convenient location - would suggest fitting ceiling fans for “hot” days. Will be back👍
Amazing food, great atmosphere. Loved the basil and jalapeño margarita. Korean chicken wings were the best wings I've ever tasted. Will definitely be back.
Delicious food and excellent service - will definitely be back!
Delicious food and excellent service. Great that Bodega now has a bigger space so even more people can enjoy!
Everything was just perfect! Would definitely come back!
Buzzy and brilliant. I loved it! Very stylish. Bright. and funky. Also exceedingly good value.
Visited with three friends and had a great Thursday night out.
Food excellent, service friendly and quick, great informal eatery.
Friendly and helpful service, creative and delicious food. Not your usual taco options! Prices are not cheap as portions are not huge, but are priced reasonably for the quality of food. Margarita (classic) was a 10/10 - not easy to find in Edinburgh! I'm coeliac and gluten free options were plentiful and staff very knowledgeable about cross contamination etc. HIGHLY recommend.
Amazing as always - good food and amazing service!
Great vibe, lovely authentic food and good cocktails!
So happy for Bogega Leith to be open again!
Food was excellent, service was even better. Try the margaritas!
Absolutely fantastic as always at Bodega. By far my favourite Mexican in the city. Also the Tollcross one is brilliant.
