Had the chef’s special and it was really good! Enjoyed the elotes con crema... street corn.. needed more cream originally. When I asked for more, the staff quickly brought it. The meat on my tacos was super trendy and just melted in my mouth!
What quaint little place! I absolutely loved the special margarita for the evening. The carne asada tacos were amazing. The tomatillo sauce was the right amount of spicy. The house made salsa was a little sweet for me but it was definitely full of flavor and had a nice kick. The staff is extremely friendly. Great place for a fun evening alone or with others!
Fantastic business. Great food, great value and superb service
Small friendly and innovative. Love the daily special Margarita and Tacos. Simple presentation but complex and interesting flavours. Staff friendly and helpful. Our new local favourite.
Always excellent food here - will be back again! :)
Epic!!!! A taste sensation! Never disappoints, can’t wait to try the new Leith branch soon
Great food. Great service. Best guacamole in town!
Both the food and service was fantastic. Our tortilla chips were refilled when we finished them without asking which a lot of places don’t do! BYO wine also makes it a budget friendly option! Will definitely go again.
This is my absolute favourite place to eat. The food is incredible and I could eat here every day!
Great food, great service and a cool space. £5 margaritas are amazing. Prices on the higher end but well worth it !!
Having been to the leith walk premises a few times we visited Toll Cross and it is everything we expected from Bodega! Food is delicious! Service is professional and laid back. A small but comfortable venue as a nice vibe. And though I think I’ve almost had everything on the menu, the taste is so fresh it makes you want to go back again! Whoever thought a taco could taste so good! BYOB is a touch also so hope they don’t give that up.
Fresh ingredients. Lovely.
Very nice people. Interesting wines.
amazing food!!! drinks are incredible also, will definitely go back
Excellent from start to finish food quality second to none. This is the first time we had been here but will not be the last. Service excellent from all members of staff. Mark Mcintyre
I've eaten at Bodega three times in eight days. I have really enjoyed the food, clearly!!
I have eaten in a lot of Mexicans around the world and I can honestly this is one of the best. Great food, great ambience, lovely people
Food was delicious, however it took an hour and a half for our mains to arrive. The server apologies, brought us complimentary drinks, but then charged us for said drinks. The food was amazing so would go back.
Beautifully simplistic! Fabulous food and super tasty margarita's. Looking forward to going back.
I'll give this place another try as I feel like we went on a bad day. We arrived and there was no one to be seen (neither staff or patrons) but were seated quickly after finding someone. As we were the first people there we were excited to have hot and speedy food. We ordered and waited, and waited and waited. It took 45 minutes for our plates to come out and as we were a table of 2 this was... not great. The food was very nice, and I will give it another chance, but speed, service and atmosphere all left a lot to be desired.
Highly recommended- we tried almost all the tacos on the menu between us (great place for sharing) and they were all delicious. Service was and lovely relaxed ambience. Will definitely be back!
We came here for a work do and had a lovely time. The black bean and feta dip was divine. All of the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great - if anything, we were too noisy!
feel very fortunate to have this great wee place as a local.
went pre pantomime , took a while to understand the menu but the food was delicious and the service good.
This is my favourite place to eat in Edinburgh. I love the food and of course the margaritas
Excellent food and Margueritas - our first visit to the TollX branch and thoroughly enjoyed our eve!
Cracking tacos! Working my way through the menu but every taco I’ve had has tasted great!
Unlike many Mexican restaurants bodega has gone for quality over just sheer quantity. I’d rather have these guys Vietnamese pork belly or Baja fish in my tacos than your ordinary Mexican fair that’s just smothered in cheese and sour cream.
First of all we were disappointed to learn this was not BYOB as advertised all over the internet. This was our main motivation for coming here so understandably felt let down that it was not advertised on your website as no longer being so. The food however was lovely! And the staff were very friendly. It’s a super small place and we felt like we couldn’t stay for long as it was busy and noisy so headed to the bar across the way. Nice food but probably won’t be back.
Small space, but very nice. Bit of a squeeze getting seated but well worth it. Nice mix of diners from students to older people. The table next to the door isn’t great though. Food was tasty. Small menu but everything we had was good. Staff were good but when I asked to move table one said no, the free table was taken. The other member of staff said no problem which was good, and no one ever did turn up for that table, which was a little annoying. Enjoyed it so will probably go back from time to time.
Lovely little restaurant with a great vibe, and loved the food. The staff were a little over worked but provided great service. There was a rowdy group of students that overtook the room, but that can’t be helped. I was as bad when I was their age, probably worse to be fair. Definitely better for groups rather than solo like I was today, felt a bit awkward amongst the conversations going on around me and it being quite small trying not to look like I was nosing in on other people’s discussions. Not a knock on the restaurant at all, just a perfect place for a group of mates for a meal.
Food good & staff friendly. Only downside slow to get food
I really liked the food and the ambiance - but the service was really quite slow - only one waitress on and I felt the food was slow to come out given its quite a limited menu. Having said all that - we would definitely give it another go
Worth the wait.... Been desperate to come here for ages. Scrummy and yummy.
Tacos here are very good but more tapas than a meal. Would say it is on the expensive side.
Lovely food, all done really well. Black bean dip in particular is amazing
There were six of us. The menu is small but that's a good thing, and everyone was able to find things they were able to eat, including the three vegetarians. It has a great vibe and the food and margaritas were excellent as was the service. Definitely recommend.
Great, reasonably priced food and delicious cocktails!
Nice food, choices limited but in a good way. Well executed dishes. Drinks list was the sparse - no diet soft drinks. Table by the door on a cold evening also not ideal. But will go back.
My third visit but this time in the evening. Love this small restaurant, the menu is limited in a good way, the food is fresh with something for everyone including the vegetarian in our party who loved his dishes, there are many flavours to excite the tastebuds and the ambience is great. The waiting staff do get very busy but they are never that far away. I will be back.
Delicious food and expertly made margaritas (for just a fiver). Best vegan taco taste experience so far in Edinburgh. Not many veggie options but the ones they have are all super tasty. Identical offering and just as good as Bodega on Leith Walk.
A flavour explosion, the food is amazing really fresh on your pallet, very good value and they make t best margarita I had in years
