Cubes of lamb shoulder braised with carrots, green peas, peppers and cilantro. Served with Turkish rice
Chickpeas mashed with tahini, garlic and extra virgin olive oil
Grilled salmon filet served with arugula and tomato salad
Pizzas excellent. Wine list way overpriced - nothing less than $48
The starters and the Turkish red wine were excellent, service was friendly. Great job setting up socially distant tables under the canopy
Great as always!!!!
Excellent in every way.
They have tables on sidewalk. Because there is a bike lane and then a lane of parked cars, this is pretty far from traffic and so quite quiet for outdoor dining on an avenue.
Food and service are good.
Due to the virus Bodrum is only open for outdoor dining, utilizing space on Amsterdam Avenue, both in the gutter and on the sidewalk in front. No issues with food or service, which allowed us to sit without interruption for over two hours. The issue is the noise on Amsterdam Avenue, especially cars with loud radios going by, it is very annoying and distracting. Alas, I realize that this is New York.
They have a nice outdoor dining set up with all COVIF measure being followed. The baba ganoush, wood baked bread, pizza and lamb kebobs were all excellent. Some of the best lamb I've had in some time. The baba ganoush was nice and smoky! Will definitely return.
Fresh and healthy options. We felt well cared for.
Yummy food. Made the best of the outdoor dining Covid situation.
Consistently excellent- stuffed cabbages, lamb tagine, salad
Everything was great. The outdoor venue was cool and comfortable. We sat for hours and the staff was completely OK with it. One little thing is the portion size was a little smaller than usual but in these pandemic times that is much of a problem.
The restaurant seemed understaffed, so it took longer than usual to do everything; get seated, order, get the actual food (appetizer came after the main dish..), ask for the dessert menu and then pay the actual check. I was flailing my arms at one point to try to get anyone to notice us. The server was very nice though when she actually came over. The main dish was very good; I had Turkish kebab and rice, and my friend had Adana kebab. Baklava was a little dry though. Good outdoor seating area with decent social distancing measures. Utensils were individually wrapped in saran wrap and all of the staff were wearing masks.
Unfortunately dining on the sidewalk and worse in the street is verynosiy and unpleasant. Huge trucks come by was well as sirens. We couldn't hear a lt of the time because of traffic noise and sirens. The food is goo, though they have made the menu look different from their usual menu. I kinda preferred the old one, but they seem to be using the new ones as a place mat. A great place when the traffic is low, there's a breeze, and you're not baking in the sun!
Meet a friend there for lunch. Very comfortable with excellent service and wonderful food. Highly satisfying experience.
a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that deserves people from downtown to make a visit.
Always welcoming and good food. However, this time it was very hot in restaurant.
The portion for the main course we ordered (the fish tagine) was very small for $23. It had 5 small bite-size pieces of fish and a small amount of vegetables. When we told the manager, she responded that this was the portion for this fish since the restaurant opened, and did not validate our disappointment. She did send dessert on the house, but we had ordered dessert already so we didn’t even touch it. We didn’t understand why they didn’t give us the dessert that we had ordered on the house. It made no sense.
I had been to this restaurant several times before and never had an unpleasant experience in the past. I will not return given the small portions for the price and the poor customer service.
Very good neighborhood restaurant; the Turkish food is quite good and the bread is excellent. Good Turkish coffee too.
Perfect every time. Superior service (incredibly nice staff!!), sumptuous smells, and fabulous food (and although I sound like a total fool, I mean every word of it!). Go!!! You'll never be disappointed!!
We love this place - the food is fresh and delicious. We're particularly partial to the hummos and babaganoush, Moussaka, Manti and the Adana Kebab. The pizza's are also delicious! However don't ever go without a reservation.
Delicious food, tastes homemade. Try all the apps. The pizzas are great, too. Lovely service. We had such a leisurely lunch and weren't rushed at all. We opened belated Christmas gifts and were even given a bag for the wrappings. Great food, great service at a very good price.
We have dined several times in the past two years.
Food always good and service friendly and attentive.
Wine prices have jumped - bottles seem especially overpriced and least expensive glass is usually $12.
Nice cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. Excellent good and value for money. I will keep going there at every opportunity. Lamb tajine and manti really good. Does not get very loud even if it's full. Highly recommended.
This is a jewel: Fresh, interesting, well-prepared, subtly-spiced dishes. Cozy environment. Warm reception. Courteous service. Down-to-earth prices.
The reviews for this restaurant are accurate. It is a lovely, unpretentious meal with an attentive staff, reasonable prices in a warm and cozy setting. We started with zucchini fritters and Turkish Patlican eggplant appetizer. I preferred the fritters but both were good. Then 2 of us had the branzino and 1 had the Lamb Tagine and 1 had the Moroccan Fish Tagine. All were yummy. I sometimes find Mediterranean food overly spiced but that is not the case here. The flavors are well balanced and easy on the palate. A very satisfying meal all around. And who could forget the amazing bread? Warm, with a crispy crust. Two of us were tempted to make that our main course. This will be my local go-to place for a reliably good dinner. I hope it stays below the radar and retains the title neighborhood gem!
Very cozy and great food and customer service!!!
Christmas Eve dinner
Consistantly delicious. The bread is freshly made. Lots of good healthy options. I have eaten here numerous times and it is always very good.
Great local Mediterranean . Consistently good healthy tasty food.
Great local restaurant. Good food and service.
Babaganoush And their fresh baked bread are an awesome start to this experience. Moussaka is wonderfully scrumptious and comforting. Staff is friendly and accomodating!
Fast service. Delicious food.
The food, service and drinks were excellent. We’ll come back again very soon!!
This is my favorite local spot the food is exceptionally fresh and staff very friendly.
Excellent brick oven pizzas. Tagines are delish. Nice choices for pescatarians, including soup and Branzino with pistachio nuts. Baklava was tasty.
I truly enjoyed my lunch at Bodrum, food and service were excellent!
The hummus and fresher baked break is to die for!
The bread is so good - crispy and light. The food awesome!
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and service.
We've eaten at Bodrum several times in the past 2 years & suggest it to friends as well. Staff and service always friendly and attentive.
Outdoor seating nearly doubles the size during pleasant weather. Menu has a nice variety of Turkish choices and smaller plates to start. Try the mezze sampler. Great mid-size brick oven pizzas (share or enjoy alone) and the Middle Eastern/Mediterranean atmosphere and flavors are always a pleasure.
Wine pricing runs high (esp bottles) which seems to be happening in many smaller or family owned places this year. They do offer a Monday night special on bottles with oder of entree. It is very popular with local families from the upper west side - children often included at tables, but nearly always well behaved. For well-prepared food in a friendly small taverna atmosphere, Bodrum is a great choice.
