We’ve had an amazing time, great service and loved every bit of it
Excellent evening with great food, friendly service, beautiful dining room and the jazz band were brilliant
Absolutely love it! Friendly staff, great food and amazing atmosphere!
As usual a great evening, great food and great atmosphere!
We chose the restaurant for the location and it was a bonus that there was 50% off food by booking through Open Table.
Food very good. Menu a little limited but understandable in these difficult times.
Wine on the expensive side
Great good and atmosphere
The four of us took advantage of some very special offers to dine at Boisdale where I had been before. The best part of the offer was the 50% off a la carte and we all took advantage of having a steak.
Service was great and we were well looked after however three of us thought the steak (fillet and a chateaubriand) were rather ordinary and did not provide the flavour or quality experience we had anticipated. Without the offer we would have been even more disappointed.
It is likely we would return again however probably not without an offer as at full price this was not an exceptional steak and even if a great deal, would not have been good value.
Great food, service and ambience
Excellent dinner with a friend who I hadn’t seen in a year. Food and service was very good. Added bonus of the blues band who were great and playing at the right noise level. All round a great night.
I must admit that it was an exceptional evening. From dining to the cigar bar then back again to music room, where we danced the night away.
My second Boisdale visit - my previous visit at Mayfair was very good in terms of food, service and ambiance. In contrast the experience at Belgravia was a huge disappointment - lots of staff around but hard to catch their attention, 3 of the party had steak but all disappointed - 1 medium fillet was very rare and others, Rib Eye, overcooked / dry. Head waiter only seemed interested in upgrading our wine selection ! Yes, we drank 5 bottles of wine between 4 of us but £135 per head for a very average meal was far from good value - don’t think we will be returning
This is a gorgeous eatery near to Victoria Station, very popular with Business gents. We ate there as 2 couples and all enjoyed the whole experience. The bright red decor and general ambience are bold and striking, very much to my taste, makes a very pleasant change from the more modern pale shades of grey and silver .... et al. All the staff are genuinely knowledgeable about the food and drinks and we were warmly welcomed and well looked after. It is a little on the pricey side, but the food discount through OpenTable made it a lot more affordable - THANKS!! As it is popular and busy, with hard surfaces, noise levels can be a little high making it sometimes difficult to hold conversations, not a complaint, just information. We did not stay for the live music, but next time ... we will!
Excellent food and ambience with most attentive and polite staff.
We had a great evening
The staff were very friendly and helpful
I would highly recommend going here
Great venue- centrally located. Highly recommend and would definitely go back for a Friday night dinner whether on a date night or with friends/family. Very sociable Cenue and great food and music.
My mum and I had a lovely dinner, the food was delicious, well priced and the service was fantastic. We had a lovely waiter and he made our experience even better!
Great food and great service
Even with 50% off the food bill the meal was overpriced. Service was poor. Very disappointing.
Interesting place, but i expected more. Steaks were nice but rest not really, the price is too high for what you get. Value for money diverge. If you want to have a lovely dinner but for reasonable price and excellent food then i would not recommend this place, there are lots of other places that much better. But music and atmosphere were nice.
The music didn’t start until 1.5 hours after advertised. We probably wouldn’t have booked it if we’d known
All great - but a tad expensive.
Boisdale of Belgravia - 28 December 2019
My husband and I had dinner at Boisdale's and it's always been a firm favourite of ours. Great food, service and ambiance. Just a really lovely atmosphere and live Jazz thrown in to boot.
The only criticism I would make is that Boisdale's now appear to charge for the sauce which goes with the steak. £3-5 depending on what you order. Also a cover charge of £7.50 each for the jazz. We had booked the table for the evening and spent over £250.....
Rather old fashioned ‘clubby’ ambiance and food to match. Very enjoyable experience. Staff attentive without being over- intrusive. Excellent range of wines by the glass. When offered a noggin of whisky,
I would have expected to be asked what single malt I wanted in that sort of Scottish-themed establishment. Generous portions. Price was reasonable for quality and quantity of food.
I took my friend here for her birthday present as she is Scottish. I have been before and thoroughly enjoyed it and whilst it was still good, this time round I felt it was very business orientated and so we felt out of place. Plus we were put at a table for 2 between 2 big groups of people so we could hardly hear each other speak. I asked if we could be moved but was told no. I do recommend the restaurant as the food was delicious but it’s not a restaurant to catch up with a friend.
I think the ambience of the place is nice and we were greeted by a friendly chap which was a good start to the evening.
Although, I mentioned my intolerance to parsley - it still appeared in my food. I was not impressed by the wait staff, as they stretched over you to serve food to the person seated next to you. I cannot say the food was more than OK, the wine options were mediocre.
I would recommend, in the hopes that someone else would make better food choices. I am not sure why there is a need to mix parsley into dishes - a bit to chefy!
Great place. 50% deal for food is good. We unfortunately had a very bad service day. Never got asked if we were ok or wanted anything. Every time we wanted something - to spend more money - we had to beg scrape and plead to get someone’s attention. Put us on edge. Took the joy out of it. I presume a few staff called in sick.
Great place to eat , drink and be Merry. Steaks are fantastic. Very good quality. Will return.
The food is great, unfortunately we were seated right next to the stage and the music was way to loud to have a conversation
The rib-eye steak was absolutely delicious - fantastic quality beef. The thrice cooked chips were also great and the Bloody Mary ketchup is definitely worth a try! Although it was very tasty, we wouldn't consider the foie gras and truffle sauce a sauce - it was a couple of pieces of seared foie gras with a very thin liquid; we would have expected something much thicker for it to be considered a sauce. We also had the Beyond Meat truffle burger - again, very good. The service was also great. Would love to come back for some live music, as we unfortunately had to leave just as the band was starting.
The place was a little dated. The food was not inspiring. The service was good. Very expensive for what it was.
Boisdale of Belgravia has it all: a wonderful ambience; welcoming staff; and delicious food. I ordered steak - it was full of flavour and cooked exactly as I like it. We received excellent service from our waiter Richard who had a great sense of humour. We are looking forward to visiting this restaurant again.
Enjoyed bread, fillet and red wine. Attentive and helpful service. Nice atmosphere. Good value for money with the Opentable offer otherwise on the pricey side.
This was my first time at the Boisdale. Setting is tradition but relaxed. Fantastic old fashioned bar. Also had upstairs outside terrace. Service was top level. I notice some bad reviews with service but this is a professional service and they clearly care about the restaurant. Food was amazing. I often judge a place by its decaf coffee. This place served the best. Also had a large non-alcohol drink menu, again, a mark of a great restaurant
This is one of the best deals in London at present. The fact that you get 50% off food from the à la cart menu is amazing. Particularly when you consider the quality of the food is on offer on the menu. My meal of 6 oysters and grouse for mains was excellent. Service was a bit slow as they had a large group in, however it was not an issue for us and our waiter was very apologetic. Wine started at about £25 a bottle, which would be expected at such a quality restaurant. Definitely recommended
Food was great, but what sets this place apart is that there’s excellent jazz/live music, a great atmosphere and quirky but excellent service.
Our meal was a lot of fun!
Also, as a sommelier, I found the wine list to be outstanding and the wine service to be very good.
Over the years, I've really tried to support Boisdale; hosting corporate clients and friends as I've always had a soft spot for the place, mostly because of the music. It's never been about the food, and I should've advised my friend on Tuesday evening to settle for smoked salmon and a burger which is always a safe bet. You risk breaking your teeth on the 'crumbed' squid. The calves liver was a thick slab. The rib-eye steak was tough. It has its loyal clientele, a few oldies who tend to imbibe too much, fall about and just look sad, despite the singer making suggestions that it's 'time to go home'. If anything, it's entertaining but I won't be going back.
A splendid eatery full of character. Service was discreetly attentive and the food and beverages a delight.
Fabulous as always
Great hidden gem close to it all. Live music. Great for late night. Food was very good. I had the bone in sirloin, and it was great. My wife had the lamb special and said it was fantastic! Impeccable service. Enjoy!
Birthday celebration but was not acknowledge by staff even thought I mentioned it twice.
Service was very slow
