Set on the second floor of a Gotham City-style Art Deco building overlooking the fountains in Cabot Square, and with a view of the City of London skyline, Boisdale of Canary Wharf Restaurant is one of the most majestic premises to have opened in the area. It bears the distinctive Boisdale design of lacquer red and dark green walls, rich mahogany panelling, and an eclectic collection of classical and modern original artwork. The menu showcases classic British dishes and there’s a special emphasis on seafood, and on Scottish dishes like haggis; makes sense with the amazing range of Scotch on offer at the Whisky bar. Well worth stopping off and indulging in a Whisky flight – expert bartenders are on hand to guide you through the extensive range. There is also a ticketed live jazz show most evenings and Jools Holland is the Boisdale Patron of Music.

I found this restaurant on OpenTable for a last-minute business dinner with two colleagues. It's a little hard to find (it's inside of a shopping mall). And there are two levels: a bar/lounge level and then the main dining room.

There were a number of things that went poorly for the restaurant: first, we had a 7:30p reservation and were told that there was a live music show starting at 9:30p in the restaurant. That would've been fine, but we were told that if we were there past 9:15p we'd be charged 29GBP each for attending the show. That was really outrageous - but I figured, well, we'd be done by 9:15p.

It turns out that the service was interminably slow and despite having ordered desert at 9pm we were still waiting for it when 9:45p rolled around. No check-in from the server. Nothing. We finally had to complain (loudly) to get our check and get out - and of course it wasn't until we were literally standing up and walking out that our dessert showed up.

The food was average. The prices were average. The room was LOUD, and not appropriate for business meals. And the service (and attitude from the floor manager) was extremely poor. There are a ton of other places to eat in Canary Wharf. Seek one of them.

Oh - they add a 12% service charge that you have to opt out of after they bring you the check. Be aware.

It's not the usual family restaurant but Boisdale is very child friendly. Its very business oriented. Service was good but when the place was filling up with diners, it took very long to wait for our bill. Fantastic value on Open Table and I'd certainly like to come back and participate in their jazz nights.

Service was terribly slow, had to repeatedly ask staff for things - took an hour from ordering wine until it arrived. Food appeared to have been left under hot lamps for ages. Couldn't even get to dessert. Terrible experience overall, and nothing at all like the Bishopsgate and Belgravia restaurants, which are both excellent.

Ordered the rib eye steak medium, 1st attempt was well done, was served a second attempt within 2 minutes with the explanation there was a mix up in the kitchen. The second attempt was like a lump of inedible and unidentifiable gristle and beef, certainly not rib eye steak. Sent it back, didn’t order anything else and wasn’t charged. For a Scottish restaurant it does the reputation of quality Scottish ingredients no favours. Even the haggis neeps and tatties was from a mass production line that was nothing like proper haggis. Got a table at extremely short notice. Speaks volumes. Wont be back.

Always great at Boisdale! We went for the Sunday brunch on Fathers Day which was great with the live entertainment! There were some young kids but our toddler was probably a little out of place and the kids menu wasnt quite as kid friendly as we may have liked, however as always a good experience.

The gluten free options were amazing as always. We went for Sunday roast but found the veg options limited to carrots and potatoes. Perhaps parsnips, broccoli as well would be better? We don’t mind paying extra for a great sunday Lunch.

I dined here in a lunch date in the middle of the week. I really wanted to sit out on the terrace (which you can book specifically) but there menu there was a bit different from the one available indoors. Since I am on a low-carb diet at the moment I wanted to make sure there was plenty for me to choose from so stuck to the indoor menu. Next time I will dine on the terrace and will eat the chicken and mushroom pie. My dining companion had it and it looked and smelled delicious. I had a salad with shrimp and avocado and though I am not a salad person in general it was quite tasty. It is in a good location and easy to find and get to.

We had a brilliant eve at Boisdale Canary Wharf. We opted for the 2 course set menu with a glass of fizz. Very good value. We also ordered a bottle of white wine from their extensive list plus there was a really good jazz band playing. The food was excellent, including the service, price and ambience. We always enjoy Boisdale, thanks again for a lovely evening.

Boisdale staff should keep an eye on the music loudness of the live act. This time and once before the sound technician had the music too loud with too much base, over powering the singers and we could not hear ourselves talk. This is a classy venue not a nightclub for teenagers. This happened once before and when I approached the sound technician to tell him the music was too loud he did not take any notice, so we left.

Also the fish pie had too much black pepper in it or some spicy stuff, this was unnecessary and burnt my mouth and throat. It also was too hot that it could not be ate for about 15 minutes.

Quiet on a Monday, no Jazz unfortunately. Service excellent. The location is good next to Calbot Sq.
This is a premium restaurant so don't expect budget prices, food is excellent though. Do remember it's a Scottish themed so yes you can have haggis! Nice location for a nice meal, be it business or pleasure.

Wanted somewhere special to celebrate my birthday and this venue fitted the bill perfectly. The Fillet steak was perfection, as were the steak burgers and the fish pie. The waiter could not have been more attentive and we loved the table by the window. I am sure we will be going there again at some time in the future.

Boisdales is without doubt my favourite restaurant group in London. I've been going to the Bishopsgate and Belgravia restaurants for 17 years now but am ashamed to say that I haven't visited the Canary Wharf branch until now. It's a fantastic venue and quite different from the other two. It has more of a speakeasy vibe and the live music is slightly more towards popular music on the spectrum, which is ideal for the location and vibe of this venue. The food was amazing as always - I opted for the haggis, tatties and neaps, my wife for the rib eye steak. Highly recommended.

The service at the beginning was very poor - we were seated for 20 mins (we kept trying to get the attention of various waiting staff) before being given a menu or offered a drink. Other tables in our area were also commenting on the slow/bad service. After we did ask about menus and drinks and they eventually came, the service for the rest of the meal was much better. It was a shame it started badly.

Apart from that the food was great and the music was fabulous!!
