First try at this restaurant although I had heard very good things from friends. Our experience was very good the food was wonderful the service was very attentive and it was a great experience we didn’t stay for a show but we will do next time
I come here for lunch on Sunday: I love place! I challenge anyone to find me a better place in London for quality of food, ambience. And value: when I say “value”, it isn’t the cheapest place to go, but I’ve never been less than delighted every time I’ve been. Tip though, book early in the day, as they often run out of some dishes later in the day
The stuff on normal menu is reasonably priced. But we uitlised a promo for weekday lunch, the classic burger, only for 99p if you have it with a pint of beer or a glass of wine!! As we cannot drink alcohol we asked for mocktails with our food.
The restaurant was very nice and the staff and service was all very good. Unfortunately, with the food, the side dish of neeps was bland and the potato gratin was very dry.
Leaving lunch for a colleague, second floor restaurant area is grand but cosy with good quality food at reasonable price for Canary Wharf.
We had a wonderful evening - perfect table for 2 in a prime spot near the bar in the main restaurant with a great view of the stage. Our food was great and the wine list represents excellent value. We were treated to a live band and by the end of the set, loads of people including us were up dancing. It was awesome. The only blight was that another diner had been sick in the hallway at some point which meant a nasty surprise on the carpet that had to be dodged before going to the ladies...by the end of our night it had vanished, however, and this wouldn’t stop me going back. Thank you Boisdale for a great evening xxxx
Nice business meal - first time at any Boisdale restaurant and would recommend!
Yet another great evening-straight forward food, good wines and very good service.Always having a window table helps esp as the evenings are now lighter.
The service was cery bad and very slow. It took almost an hour until we received the food. The food was okish and very expensive in compare that the value. The only positive thing was the live music. All the rest, definitely need an improvement.
I have dietary requirements and checked they could cater for me 3 times once over email and twice on the phone. On the day they had no idea, I'm lactose and gluten free and get really sick if I eat it. I was told all they could offer me was a medley of vegetables, disappointed i reluctantly accepted this, when it arrived it was even more disappointing it was a bowl, half filled with carrots and the other half filled with cabbage. I complained, and when the manager came over he looked suitably horrified and tried to rectify the situation. He was great the food was not but i didn't want to upset the other people i was with as they were more than happy with their meals. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't have food allergies or intolerance. The venue, the manager and staff are great the communication between them terrible.
I had the haggis as a starter - superb! tasty and very fresh menu, absolutely adored the steak here
We often go to Boisdale in Canary Wharf and enjoy their Jazz Sunday lunch! The service, food and atmosphere always very good. The pork was beautifully cooked and melted in the mouth - every course was tasty and well cooked. Always a lovely occasion.
Lovely food and good service, in pleasant surroundings.
Excellent evening of entertainment
Very enjoyable lunch. Surprising pleasant restaurant.
Great value Sunday lunch. Especially when one uses the wine upgrade.
Great service and wonderful food. Haggis followed by one of their infamous burgers... perfect! Certainly pricey on the wine but other than that faultless.. Martin the excellent manager on L1 is always extremely welcoming.
Excellent service from all concerned. Good wine selection, with excellent wines available by the glass (which isn't always the case).
We’ve been to Boisdale before but this time our experience was different to those previous. We felt the food wasn’t as good as it has been and perhaps the staff were having a bad night as we watched the staff fumble between tables and not attending to customers as promptly as they should be. Maybe they were understaffed but this doesn’t explain the poor quality of food we were being given. For instance the linguine I ordered came out a little over done and looked like a big pile of mush. My husbands haggis was overcooked and was far too rich for his liking. We tried the Vietnamese spring rolls on the tapas menu intrigued by why they had included this to their otherwise faultless and exclusive Scottish menu. I understand that it is competitive out there but I feel like Boisdale is losing its identity giving into such a wide range of cuisines. We loved Boisdale for what they did because they were good at it. Now we feel it’s turned commercial and like any other restaurant only with live entertainment.
Great food and service for a business lunch
As per usual, Boisdale's Jazz Sunday lunch is always very enjoyable. The food is tasty and nicely served. I had the haggis to start served with mash and carrots, absolutely delicious. The beef in particular, melted in the mouth and the roast potatoes were crispy with vegetables well cooked (firm and perfectly seasoned). The cheese selection was very good plus the apple tarte with really light pastry. We always enjoy our Sunday lunches at Boisdale in Canary Wharf. 😉😀
I have visited this restaurant many times most often for the live jazz and have liked the food. This time I took my kids to celebrate my husbands birthday on a Monday night with no music. The best part of the dinner was crab pasta however the burger was dry and a disappointment. The service was great will go back for the music.
My wife and I came for our anniversary and were given a table overlooking the fountain. It was a lovely spot. The restaurant itself was very quiet but we did go on a Monday so to be expected.
My wife and I enjoyed a cocktail when we arrived which was lovely, and then ordered.
We had a couple of British tapas, the scotch egg option and the sausages, both of which were lovely.
For mains, my wife had the partridge which was well cooked. I went for the ribeye steak which was also excellent. Thoroughly encourage you to eat that!
When I booked I was given a number of discount options and selected the 50% off a la carte which includes the whole menu bar the caviar and chateaubriand. Really an excellent deal.
Def coming back. They also do a dinner and music meal option so maybe that :-)
Service was good ... unfortunately food was cold .. was dealt with but still just warm
My first visit. The food (burger with fries) was mediocre & there are much better options in CW.
My husband and I celebrated our 25 yrs together at Boisdale in CW. We had a wonderful evening, delicious food, wide range of drinks to choose from and with being there early evening, we enjoyed to quiet in the restaurant before the live music started. The staff were attentive and we will definitely be returning.
Dreadful service on the verge of comical, the restaurant upstairs has a certain smell of a wet dog and frankly the food was completely uninspiring. Good for drinks in the bar but the restaurant is a complete waste of money.
One of the best meals I've had in ages. They did forget to take off the 50% off food when my bill came, but was ammended once I informed them. They have live music on certain nights, which is what will make me return along with the great food.
fantastic restaurant …..food was delicious, very attentive waiter, beautiful setting …..the place was buzzing, there was a jazz singer......she was fab
will definitely tell friends to go to Canary Wharf and book Boisdale
Excellent venue. Excellent Food. Excellent Service.
I found this restaurant on OpenTable for a last-minute business dinner with two colleagues. It's a little hard to find (it's inside of a shopping mall). And there are two levels: a bar/lounge level and then the main dining room.
There were a number of things that went poorly for the restaurant: first, we had a 7:30p reservation and were told that there was a live music show starting at 9:30p in the restaurant. That would've been fine, but we were told that if we were there past 9:15p we'd be charged 29GBP each for attending the show. That was really outrageous - but I figured, well, we'd be done by 9:15p.
It turns out that the service was interminably slow and despite having ordered desert at 9pm we were still waiting for it when 9:45p rolled around. No check-in from the server. Nothing. We finally had to complain (loudly) to get our check and get out - and of course it wasn't until we were literally standing up and walking out that our dessert showed up.
The food was average. The prices were average. The room was LOUD, and not appropriate for business meals. And the service (and attitude from the floor manager) was extremely poor. There are a ton of other places to eat in Canary Wharf. Seek one of them.
Oh - they add a 12% service charge that you have to opt out of after they bring you the check. Be aware.
Quaint venue for some nice single malts! The bartender on the 2nd floor was very courteous and friendly. Service by staff was very good.
Good food, beautiful ambience, spotty service
Good food, better haggis than my previous visit . Good qualitu steak
As always, another great Jazz Sunday lunch serving fabulous very well cooked food.
It's not the usual family restaurant but Boisdale is very child friendly. Its very business oriented. Service was good but when the place was filling up with diners, it took very long to wait for our bill. Fantastic value on Open Table and I'd certainly like to come back and participate in their jazz nights.
I visited Boisdale for the first time with a friend. I definitely plan on visiting again....
Great jazz Sunday lunch. We were stuffed afterwards and the roasts were delicious
Service was terribly slow, had to repeatedly ask staff for things - took an hour from ordering wine until it arrived. Food appeared to have been left under hot lamps for ages. Couldn't even get to dessert. Terrible experience overall, and nothing at all like the Bishopsgate and Belgravia restaurants, which are both excellent.
I experienced very slow service in a time where c. 75% of tables were empty. The venue itself is nice and the food is okay, however, not making up for the sevice in my view. The whiskey selection is very impressive.
