First time visit to this restaurant meeting with friends the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food we ordered was excellent no complaints i will go back it would be rude not to.
Excellent service and food as usual. A tad pricey but not out of step with the area
Always a favorite when visiting London. Love the ambiance and food.
Definitivamente el Servicio de lo mejor!!!
Excellent meal and great service.
Excellent as always. Had an early sitting so was quiet.
Bolton’s has been a staple for Cuty lunches for many years. The reason is that you can always rely on the quality food, service and ambience.
It is a little expensive for every day dining, but the food and service are excellent. I would certainly recommend a lunch at Bolton’s.
Bolton’s. old style subterranean Italian restaurant. Time locked in the 80s. Curlywurly carpets and dated decor. All the more charming for it. Nice atmosphere and very friendly old style Italian service. A feel good place. Food is OK. Actually ingredients good, cooking iffy. My liver was ordered medium and arrived raw. The fillet was rare, but ordered medium rare. Vegetables arrived en mass and were splashed onto the plate. Rib on the trolley did not look appealing. Road kill came to mind....
Verdict...nice old style establishment. No surprises; they have been sticking to their knitting for 30? Years. Lambswool rather than cashmere...
Nice People but the place was very old and tired. The food wasn’t very good either! Still baffled at the high ratings!
An authentic and well run Italian restaurant - with good size portions and tasty dishes. The 3 course set menu with a glass of house wine was good value at £27.50.
Love Boltons, make sure you say hello to Sabino for me
Nice menu, good atmosphere and ideal for a business lunch
The host is Italian. The food and wine were superb. And my boss, who is Italian, loved it. Enough said.
Traditional is not always a bonus...
It had been many years since I last stepped inside Boltons. Rather than feeling happy to greet an old friend, I was left feeling that my old friend had not moved on from the nineties. The prices had gone up in step, but the menu, cooking and decor had not. The whole thing needs a jolly good re-boot.
Boltons is a classic and never fails to live up to its reputation
Thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The food was very good, service was attentive but not intrusive and, although this was not a cheap meal, if was very good value for money.
This was a business lunch and will definitely be back.
Traditional & dependable. Always great service & classic Italian city food
Amazing food and service
They are the best in the City for the lobster linguine
Very nice. A bit quiet as Friday night but food was good and service friendly.
As always fantastic food and service in an authentic Italian - thanks
An old favourite
Boltons never fails to deliver good food, highly attentive service and a decent ambiance. It is pricey but then it is aimed at business clients who aren't paying with their own money so who can blame them. If paying for your own food it is therefore a bit lumpy, however you'll more than likely still leave happy for all the other reasons Boltons is so good
Good food. Friendly as always and swift - thank you !
Took my team there for our XMAS lunch absolutely fantastic, they all agreed it was one of the best meals they had ever had, great food/atmosphere/staff what more could you ask.
This was a great find...doesn't look much from the outside and initial first impression when you enter is not great but the food and service was second to none - excellent place for authentic Italian food.
Always fantastic, great service, good times. Lombardo and the team do great job
Having worked in the city for a number of years I have walked past Boltons on a number of occasions, but glad I finally discovered it. Traditional Italian, which offers excellent food (and large portions) , attentive service and a great ambiance. Went for a business lunch with clients who also thoroughly enjoyed it. I have already booked it again.
Bolton's feels like a City institution. I popped in at lunchtime and it was buzzing but unfortunately when we had dinner in the evening the restaurant was very quiet. However, the food was excellent and authentic and the service was faultless. We were dining to celebrate my partner's Birthday and were made to feel special. would recommend.
Great food and excellent staff. Quiet on the evening we went but the maitre d' and the waiter were very attentive and when they learned it was my birthday, they gave us all profiteroles and a glass of bubbly. Not cheap but excellent for special occasion. Food was excellent.
Always guaranteed excellent service, good food and wine when visiting Boltons. One of the dining treasures within the City.
Delivered to its usual level of good quality, tasty food
Fantastic as always! This place never disappoints. A little tired looking but the food is always amazing and the service even better!
Bolton's is a good standard city eatery for a business lunch.
Unfortunately it's slightly more on the pricey side, which I do not think is justified. The food is good and usually you do not get disappointed, but it isn't outstanding.
Delicious authentic italian dishes served efficiently and professionally. Highly recommend for business meals and entertaining clients from overseas. Worth the price for atmospheric surroundings.
Boltons was the venue choice for a company lunch in December. My CEO hadn't been for years and said 'it hasn't changed a bit - in the best possible way'. We were completely charmed by the ambience, the decor and the immaculate staff. The food was excellent; everything we had was well cooked and served piping hot - and none of your 'haute cuisine' fine dining plates of micro-food - everything was proper 'city boys' portion sizes. The service was a tiny bit brusque at times - although I would forgive them this given we went in one of the busiest pre-Christmas weeks in December and they were completely packed. Save room for a dessert served from a fabulously old-school trolley with your choice of fresh berries or lashings of cream (or both!) on the side. For a business lunch with bags of personality I would recommend Boltons without hesitation.
A bit of a time warp back to the 1980's . Old fashioned Italian in basement setting. Good food - the calves liver was excellent. Not cheap - £470 for 5 (with 3 bottles of wine).
I haven't seen a sweet trolley for years!!
This is a very traditional "old style" Italian restuarant and they do it very well. Lots of bustle and atmosphere. Attracts senior people from the Lloyds market. Reassuringly not cheap.
Boltons is a reliable and sturdy favourite. Solid menu of well cooked Italian food with no nonsense.
