We went to Boqueria in DC because we’ve liked the restaurants in NYC, and its a fun place for a crowd and a celebration— a birthday gathering in our case. The restaurant decided to close the kitchen at 9:00, which rushed our 7:30 dinner. One dish never arrived, and they asked us to order dessert well before all main course tapas dishes came out. Worst of all, the birthday we were celebrating (which was confirmed by the hostess in the afternoon) never was acknowledged. The server was lovely and the food fine, but the evening felt far from celebratory. It felt like they couldn’t wait for us and the other customers to leave so they could go home.
They ran out of nutella churros, but overall love it there! It was not out first time and won't be the last!
Food was good but several dishes came out cold.
Great service, great deal for the bottomless brunch. Got to try everything on the bottomless brunch menu!!
The tapas were good, even though the gigantic pieces of bread overshadowed the plates. Tasty, but not overly yummy. I’ve had better tapas elsewhere. Pricey.
We had the luxe tasting menu which was divine...lots of food, so be prepared!
Great food served in an expedient manner without feeling rushed.
Great!! And fast!!
Great brunch value!
Boqueria is great for a group! We had 8 people and did chefs tasting menu, family style. They have my fiancé a birthday churro, and catered to our Keto diet as much as possible!
First time there, great food but service was ok. We were seated near the windows and the view was great.
Great bottomless brunch featuring good food, good drinks, and good variety, all at a good price.
I love Boqueria! I had never been for brunch and was not disappointed!
Lunch is lovely at Boqueria — quieter than buzzy evenings and the natural light in daytime is gorgeous on the light wood. Food is outstanding as usual.
It was a birthday dinner for two people. I notified them and the restaurant did not bother to celebrate even with a small cookie. Disappointing.
My colleagues loved the food! The server was nice and helpful, but a couple people were confused as to how much they were ordering so we ended up with more food than we needed. Overall, a great dinner!
Even though the brunch is for 2.5 hours, I felt a little rushed the entire time. You’re able to try everything on the menu which was also a plus. The French toast was my groups favorite! Drinks were good as well.
Their bottomless brunch is a great deal! The food and drinks were SO tasty, especially the French toast! Service was excellent for a busy time during Sunday brunch. Our server and the manager stopped by multiple times to check on us and refill our drinks. Music was really fun with pop hits playing.
First time here for brunch this past weekend. Had a great time- excellent tapas including amazing bread. Waiter was less than cheerful but still great service, refilling the potent mimosas and red sangria frequently. We definitely plan on coming back; we recommend making a reservation.
Amazing food, bottomless brunch was a great deal! Patatas bravas were the best of the bunch.
The waiter was trying to be flirty since we were three women. We didn’t appreciate his style. It’s better to stay professional and not make assumptions about what women want from a service.
Second time at Boqueria. First, we went with family and we oredered many items on the menu including paella. Went on a Saturday night and there was more ambiance with Spanish music. This time, there was american pop music, the croquettes were nothing to rave about...the mushroom were bland and not authentic and the jamón serrano were just ok. Son't like the square shape either. I am used to my Spanish grandparent and my mother's real croquettes wether crab, jamón, cod or chicken. Not at all like the kind I eat at Puerta del Sol in Madrid. The dates were fine but, I have had better in Spanish restaurants in Chicago. The Priorat wine was exquisite. Overall, my husband and I had a good time but, not worth coming in from Old Town Alexandria.
Great New Year’s Eve menu and decor! Would love to come back in future.
Delicious food as always!!!!
Fantastic food and service. Really enjoyed the whole evening. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Solid experience. Food wasn’t as exceptional as we anticipated, but it was decent. Ok for the value. The service was great - we had an excellent waiter. Otherwise the experience wasn’t super memorable.
Great spot for brunch with a very lively crowd and great food!
Good service with respect to serving alcohol but their food service is very poor. We had to ask for the menu 3 times and still did not get it. Multiple items we ordered did not come at all.
The food and the service at Boqueria is never disappointing. However, the price of these "tapas" in comparison to similar restaurants in DC is "over-priced". One rival restaurant, in particular Barcelona on the 14th street, is equally as good in quality and yet the value and quantity of the dishes is far greater than Boqueria. I understand that Boqeria is located in a more commercial district, whereas Barcelona is far more residential but really there is no need to skimp on the quantity of the dishes, especially if you are going to charge a premium. The fact is that at Barcelona, you get more for less, a double whammy against Boqueria in my opinion, without suffering a loss in quality or service.
Service was great... very fast during Happy Hour. The food quality was good, except for the cheese plate. We ordered that and it came out stale... cheese had consistency of plastic, obviously had sat out for a while. Prices are decent, the atmosphere is modern, and the place is clean.
We ordered 6 plates for 2 people and all of them were delicious. My husband had been planning out where he would get his post dinner snack because tapas always leave him hungry but we were both completely satisfied and the perfect amount of full
We went to the bottomless brunch for $39 (bottomless drinks were additional). Service was excellent! The food was good, tapas and small plates, but what was available didn’t seem like a cohesive menu. Several things didn’t seem like they would go together. Overall, it was tasty, but it felt a bit overpriced. We probably wouldn’t eat here again.
Boqueria has remained our constant favorite in DC for past 5 years and we have never been disappointed in any tapas item we have tried either for the first time or 20th time!
Excellent food and service. The server's food and wine suggestions were "on point," to use today's idiom.
Excellent food! fabulous service!
Boqueria was an interesting experience. The food was good (although if you are looking to get full there are probably better choices out there). I will say the atmosphere was wonderful and it really ended up being a really good spot to experience a first date. The noise allows for easy conversation and there is a comfortable feel about the environment.
Good experience and excellent price
The staff at this restaurant is terrific. It has the usual issues of tight spaces & high noise level than is frequent in the city.
Boqueria was selected for a team holiday dinner as we wanted a fun space that we could easily talk but not be in the middle of the room, the food had to be creative and delicious and the cocktails as well. Boqueria delivered on all and we will be back.
Always great food. Rarely great service unless you sit at the bar.
