The service was excellent and the food was good some dishes were better than others but you could reorder what you liked so that made it worth the price. I would go back for the brunch but would also like to try the regular menu.
Boqueria was great overall. Great food, well portioned and a great place for a bday group like my party but I was disappointed that we were charged for a full brunch but only received an hour of the unlimited brunch. This place should honor the brunch culture and permit us at least 90 minutes of our unlimited tapas and drinks, I almost asked for a partial refund.
I've been to Boqueria for both brunch and dinner. Overall, I think dinner is leaps and bounds better. I would definitely skip the $42 brunch. Because they are shelling out all you can eat food to the entire restaurant, the food quality just isn't as great. Wasn't terrible but the dishes were just kind of boring. The unlimited mimosas were 70% OJ and 30% Champagne.
I will absolutely be returning for dinner.
Incredible experience! The staff was so attentive and helpful. The bottomless brunch is an incredible value and we had a great time. Would highly recommend!
Too darn loud! My ears are still ringing the next day. Food was very good, but service rather indifferent.
Great happy hour or bar venue but not for a night of intimate dining or deep conversation. The staff was awesome, So accommodating and kind, I’d be back just for that.
Great dinner with colleagues. Shared the olives, gambas, the pulpo, and two steaks that were perfectly prepared. Excellent food and service.
The food and service were incredible! And the atmosphere was perfect. Modern, clean, lively and fun!
This was a fabulous experience at the newest location and quite frankly the better of experiences overall as compared to the older location. Food was phenomenal and the staff were even greater! Would definitely come back and have already been raving about this brunch to others. Also parking was a no hassle!
Food was good, not great. Not as good as SoHo location, and not the best of DC Spanish tapas. Not all portions were generous for the price. The highlight was the rotisserie chicken - unbelievably delicious! Don't miss it.
We did the chefs tasting and it was absolutely delicious! The service was fantastic, the food was plentiful and so amazing. We had fantastic margaritas and wine and I loved the atmosphere (perfect for a Friday night meet up with some friends).
Truly disappointed with the service level provided - felt like she just wants us in and out...
Ordered several items from the menu and all was salty. Food was average. Likely not to go back. Good for tourists who don't know any better.
Loved the food and service. Will definitely come back and will recommend it to my friends.
One of the best bottomless brunches in DC. Excellent drink selection, attentive staff, and great food. Price is reasonable for what you get, especially considering you get a full 2.5 hour all-inclusive brunch.
I am glad we stumbled upon this place for brunch. The food was so good!
I've eaten at Boqueria for lunch and dinner and absolutely love both experiences. Usually new places take some time to get it together but both my experiences soon after their opening were fantastic. The wait staff is personable and knowledgeable about the menu, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is inviting. I will definitely be returning.
Had never been to lunch here before. Loved the bowl entrees! Great as tapas or meal for a single person.
Excellent Spanish restaurant, we celebrated my wife's birthday with 3 kids. Amazing Tapas food, and very kind service, even our picky kids loved it.
We love Boqueria Penn Quarter. The food is absolutely exellent! And the service is very professional and friendly, moreover, the atmosphere is great as well. We ordered the antipasto platter, gambas, pulpo and paella for two of us. Churros and coffee as dessert of course. Everything was tasty. This is our favorite restaurant. Will definitely go back soon!
I was disappointed that the brunch is different from the Boqueria in DuPont. Really missed the draft beer at this location. This is my fault for not confirming the menus and styles were the same, but still disappointing. The person who greeted us at our table seemed to be on another planet, but our server was great, she was on it! Over the food was full of flavor, and they did accommodate for my health issue I have which was awesome
Outstanding service. Waitress and staff was very friendly. The drinks were great and the food was fantastic
We really enjoyed our visit. The food and sangria were amazing!
Best Tapas I’ve had anywhere including Barcelona!
Chef’s Table was super fun and we had lots of leftovers the next day
Food was average and the service was terrible. One of our people was about 10 minutes late to the reservation. We told the server in advance that we wanted to wait until everyone showed up. She came back 3 additional times to see if wanted to order in the meantime. Throughout the entire brunch, I felt rushed and it made the entire experience bad. Not to mention the food wasn’t even that good for $60/person per brunch.
I won’t rush to come back here anytime soon.
Authentic Spanish food at a reasonable price in a cool environment with great service. Sounds so simple, but surprisingly hard to find. Boquería delivers.
Early dinner for a party of 4. The restaurant wasn’t that crowded so service was excellent. Food was awesome!
I would recommend for dinner (open, chic, modern) but not for brunch because the Dupont location wins 10/10 times. Went for brunch (menu: 4 tapas, 2 big plates or 1 family plate for entire table , unlike in Dupont where it's all unlimited tapas) and all of our food came out at once... not very "brunch/tapas like" if you're there for 2 hours and everything comes out right away. Mimosas and service was great but if you want just tapas and an experience where you keep ordering as you go, go to Dupont. Plus, the Dupont location has better dishes (jamon serrano, manchego, calamari, cauliflower, etc.). If Penn Quarter's location did brunch the same way as Dupont, it would be way more of a hit!
Very tasty tapas, especially the shrimp and lamb skewers and larger portions than I expected.
Patio seating for a perfect afternoon reminiscent of Spain; friendly, laid back but attentive service; sangria options, and small plates prepared perfectly. We will be back many times!
This was my second time at this location and I cannot say how terrible of an experience it was. We ordered 4 small plates and a glass of wine each. We were only brought our drinks and one small plate to share between the two of us. We did not see the waiter after that. After an hour of no attention the waiter brought us our check...meanwhile we never received our additional three plates.
We had to forego the rest of our meal due to an event we needed to get to. What was worse is that we didn’t even get an apology or our first small plate on the house...
I had been to this location once before and it was AMAZING. It was a shame this happened, especially because I talked up the restaurant to the friend I took there. Pretty embarrassing to say the least!
This was our second visit to Boqueria, late afternoon on a Sunday. The service was excellent, and helpful on explaining menu items. The food preparation and presentation was also excellent. The menu was not as extensive as some other tapas restaurants in the area, and some items that had been mentioned favorably in a recent Washington Post review were not on the menu. I was surprised to find the bacon-wrapped dates listed under "Carne". This is a very attractive dining room.
The only objectionable thing was the sound level. At a table of six, it was hard to hear people at the other end of the table. The music was too loud, and too much "classic rock" - Led Zep and Hendrix -- than seemed to suit the surroundings. The dining room's attractiveness seems to amplify the noise level, with a lot of flat hard surfaces. The sound level was a serious concern to some in our party. There is a semi-separate dining area in the rear, which seemed to be a little less noisy, but it was still loud.
Excellent brunch. Friendly service, Comfortable and fun restaurant!
Went for Sunday Brunch. While the food was good, it was not enough to fill me up. I did, however, get really filled on their drinks. I especially loved that coffee drink.
Came on a Saturday night for an 8:30 reservation for 4, was told they were just clearing some tables. We weren’t seated till 8:50. After ordering drinks and our first round of tapas, our waiter was hard to find. He never checked in and we had to flag him down when we wanted to order more. That was annoying, but the food came out within a reasonable time and was absolutely delicious which was the most important thing. The atmosphere is very hip and I would go again for the food ( just make sure you’re in a patient mood)
Great food. Very accommodating. Everything tastes good and the staff is very helpful without being intrusive. Good for meeting friends for dinner or a romantic dinner. Glad to see them in the neighborhood.
This is a brand new restaurant only a few months old. In a very attractive, modern space - the part I like the most are the high tables which take up two thirds of the dining room, with one smaller section in the back in front of the kitchen with regular tables. Good brunch - I had the eggs with chorizo with the most tasty fries which was delicious. Excellent service, they leave a bottle of water in the table but also fills glasses regularly.
Very disappointed that this location does not have the same brunch menu as DuPont and is not unlimited.
Our entire table did the chef tasting. It was the best dining experience I’ve had in DC. Also, their Sangria is to die for.
