Boqueria - Penn Quarter
The menu was hard to read and the only thing that was available for my daughter to eat was French fries. The chicken and churros were good. The food is served as Tapas format. If the waiter wouldn’t have been so nice letting us know know what was good on the menu we would have probably left to find another restaurant.
Loved the food but the service was not great. We had to ask for clean plates between meal and dessert and we still didn't get them. Similarly, our table asked for hot sauce no less than three times and we only received it after most of the dishes had been served. Food itself it great but service is much better at the Dupont location.
My wife and I had a wonderful date night here. Food and drinks were off the charts. I’m still fantasizing about the taste of the calamari. I regret that I didn’t try the pallella. Oh well. Guess I’ll be coming back soon!
Good food, the wait staff was busy but still did well.
Great service. Staff was attentive but not overwhelming. Food was excellent.
Looked good for drinks and the food was decent, but not outstanding. The waitress was great and brought us delicious Churros!
The food was delicious!
Fantastic service. Good place for dinner; bar area also looked packed. Loved their take on churros. Other food was good but not necessarily the best tapas available downtown.
Everything was delicious. Excellent service—server was friendly and knowledgeable. We’ll be back!
Another TAPAS place in the Distric not much differece between all of the restaurants that offer these options. PRICEY. Not worth the price in my opinion.
Great spot for brunch. Great drink selection.
One of the best Spanish restaurants I’ve been to outside of Spain. And would be at home in any Spanish town. Great food. Great value
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.
Bustling eatery that provided delicious option with excellent service.
We attended prior to a concert at Capital one Arena. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was absolutely superb. The tapas style fair came out "as it was ready", so based on what we had ordered, it seemed a little "out of order". We had a lot of veggies on the table before we had any meats, but it was so delicious, it really didn't matter. The lamb skewers were amazing as were the bacon wrapped dates. It was a rather lively atmosphere, but not so loud that my wife and i couldn't carry on our conversation.
Excellent food, great professional service. Reasonable prices.
This is a 5 star experience, but with 4stars because of the noise level. Dennis was our amazing server and worthy of a Michelin Star restaurant. He was personable, always had what we needed, paid the utmost attention to my food allergy and never "crowded" us. Went celebrating a friends birthday, and he did his upmost to make it memorable. The food was wonderful, especially the chicken. He made sure as much as possible was garlic and onion free for my allergy. The food was fresh and prepared exquisitely. Can't wait to return.
The food at Boqueria is flavorful and delicious. The menus has so many great vegetable options. I enjoyed the heirloom tomatoes, roasted beets, roasted corn, and the Spanish tortilla--each with its own seasonings, or complementary cheese. Add a glass of crisp white wine, and you have all the ingredients for a wonderful evening.
Great food! Our server was Natalia. Great personality. Love the pan con tomato with Jamon and the anchovies!
I enjoy Boqueria a lot. Good cocktails. Very tasty food. This time had the prawns, and must say compared to prawns I have had on the West Coast, these were really more like large shrimp. Next time will stick with either their excellent chicken or the gambas al ajillo. Or try either the ribs or the meatballs. The prawns for me were a rare miss for Boqueria.
this was my first time visiting and i was impressed with it all. I was there for brunch and took advantage of the unlimited/bottomless and I must say the food was great - the drinks ok. i will definitely visit again.
Service was good and food was good - we ordered a Parrillada the moment we arrived - One hour and a half later still was not there - we ended up canceling this order - The Pan con tomate barely had any tomates. The Jamon de Bellota was very little. Overall was a good experience. The Pulpo a la plancha was excellent! Our waiter was super nice and friendly.
Tried to repeat a masterful experience that we had at NEW York's Boqueria and failed miserably. Management team along with the kitchen crew needs to go visit Boqueria in New York to fully understand the entire cuisine, make and layout.
1).....TOSTA DE CANGREJO, was served on Texas toast with no fava beans.
2)....The meatballs were very small and greasy.
3)...SANGRÍA was pure water and I had to send it back.
4)....BRÓCOLI CON AJO BLANCO seems like it was just taken out of a bag and served without being properly prepared.
5)....We then decided we've had enough and tried to see if the TURRÓN would be better: An utterly disastrous idea. SALT, SALT and more SALT, wrong ice cream, and I have yet to find out what the "CAKE" was!!...TOO BURNT to recognize. So it is safe to say we will cross the street whenever in that area just to avoid even smelling anything coming from that facility. THEY HAVE RUINED MY TASTE BUDS for TAPAS in the near future.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Nice atmosphere
I've been going to the Dupont location for many years and have really liked the food there. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about this location. All three dishes I ordered were not very good. I don't think I will be going back to this location unless the food quality is improved. Service and ambiance were fine.
Love their lunch special, salads and sandwiches but those TAPAS!!! YUM.
The menu was hard for us to understand but we quickly figured out you can’t go wrong. Everything was delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing food. Coffee is great after dinner
It was a great time and experience. Food and service was above expectations! Great memories for our 7th Birthday for our little girl. Thank you so so very much!
Overall everything we had was disappointing, however our server was exceptional. We had croquettes, garlic shrimp, octopus, squid, all of which was just meh.
Denis was amazing!
Get the roast chicken! It was phenomenal. Also loved the croquettas.
Probably one of my favorite meals of 2019. Natalia made us feel like we were at home. Highly recommend the tasting menu. It was a walk through the menu and we loved every course.
Again, thanks to Natalia and the entire staff. It was a great night out and we appreciated every minute of it.
We were there to take advantage of the July 4th Bottomless Brunch. The food was excellent although I wish the restaurant had included more items from the regular menu. But I understand the economic constraints of providing bottomless food and drink for $42. We ordered the fried calamari twice, the roasted eggplant 3 times, the steak with fried eggs and a number of other dishes. The pan con tomate was totally forgettable. I have had this dish many times at other restaurants (both domestically and in Spain) and there was no comparison.
All in all, not a bad experience.
Overall, my first time at Boqueria was a very good experience. The food was tasty and our server was both knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere had a very cool vibe. My only suggestion would be to add some low-top tables. I don't usually find high-top chairs to be comfortable enough to sit in through an entire dinner and, except for the booths, the restaurant only has high-tops.
The food was delicious. Gloria our waitress gave excellent recommendations on the food and wine. We were a party of six and had a wonderful conversation because of the low amount of annoying noise around us. Our table was situated where it felt cozy and comfortable with a homelike atmosphere. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Best mimosas! The portions were a bit small, but that's tapas for you. The service was fantastic - Gloria was an all-star server - very attentive but not overbearing, and with great suggestions and follow-up throughout our dining experience.
This visit was for a date night and while the food was tasty and the service was spot on, I thought the value for the food wasn't as great as I would hope. We ordered six tapas plates (including two orders of the bacon wrapped dates they were so tasty (3 pieces per plate) shrimp, octopus, olives, and meatballs and no alcoholic beverages and paid $100+. The food was tasty, but not enough to make me want to go back again and drop a Benjamin and more for little bites.
The service was excellent and the food was good some dishes were better than others but you could reorder what you liked so that made it worth the price. I would go back for the brunch but would also like to try the regular menu.
Boqueria was great overall. Great food, well portioned and a great place for a bday group like my party but I was disappointed that we were charged for a full brunch but only received an hour of the unlimited brunch. This place should honor the brunch culture and permit us at least 90 minutes of our unlimited tapas and drinks, I almost asked for a partial refund.
