Hand Cut Chips
Served with oyster mushroom, roasted onion, black garlic ketchup and hand cut chips
Venison and Black Pudding Scotch Egg
Love the vegi burger
We’ve wanted to eat here for a while. Slightly disappointing that our table flowers were dead - not a big thing but a detail that is hard to overlook!
Food in general was lovely, children’s pasta was a lot for a 3 year old.
Roast Beef tasty - even the bonus string on my portion!
Overall an enjoyable lunch but for the premium price more attention to detail could be paid.
Absolutely delicious roast shoulder of lamb for two. Bit pricey £70 for two for one course with a couple of drinks but it was lovely.
All the staff were really courteous and light - lovely evening and a lovely surprise having complimentary fizz because it was our anniversary very nice touch - we had a lovely evening - thank you
This is a lovely barn and the atmosphere deco very welcoming.
If you like burgers it's perfect with good quality meat and veggie burgers and nice trimmings. Good range of drinks. Busy on a Saturday night but plenty of space. The pub tables/seats would not suit older customers but the menu is obviously pitched at young customers and families. The quality of the burgers is very good. In the Winter I hope they will offer a wholesome soup too. My family said the ice creams very nice too.
We had a great time. The atmosphere, staff, burgers, beer 🍺 everything was great.
Lovely atmosphere and very friendly, professional staff. Food was excellent except the Sole which was a little bit dry
Lovely quiet lunch in the sun
Maybe put up the umbrellas for shade but otherwise lovely
Beautiful pub in a lovely setting with excellent service and delicious food
What’s not to like about this place.
Staff are friendly courteous and in the ball. I had the scotch egg to start the pork loin, egg and cups for main abd a cheeseboard to share for dessert.
All the food was beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious.
We told the staff we wanted a long slow lazy lunch as we weren’t in any rush.
We were left to our own devices but plates were cleared quickly.
I have eaten here many times and just cannot find fault with anything about the B and G.
We had a nice walk from Shiplake up to the pub for a Sunday Lunch. B&G looked after us very well.
The food wasn’t worth the money.
The service was good
My biggest grip was a a bottle wine on the menu which was £10 turned out to be £40. Wasn’t told this when I ordered it which they should have done.
We had a great evening and the staff were very efficient and helpful. There was a large party of us and the food all came out really quickly and at the same time. We had a great time - thank you!
A great place to come in a group with children. The staff were amazing and not phase at all herding a rabble of 20! Food was delicious. A great evening
Great atmosphere in the barn with the fairy lights & open fire. Amazing service with friendly staff.
Fantastic food and served by warm and friendly staff
Having been to the restaurant several times, I enquired about covered areas. I have several chronic conditions and am unable to go inside anywhere.
I was told about the barn which was a big airy space…..,but….I wasn’t told that the barn had a completely different menu. We were bitterly disappointed as we hadn’t been out for a meal since the beginning of lockdown so this was to be a special event. I really think this should be made clear, also that we could have driven to the barn, please make this clear when booking people into the barn.
We mainly had the Sunday Roast. The portions were huge and we ended up bringing most of the lamb home. It was all delicious.
Best burger I’ve ever ever had! Friendly and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend!
Food was good but problem was with booking system. We booked the pub and were advised through Open Table that it was outdoor table which was fine. When we arrived we were told that we weren’t outdoors at pub but in the burger barn and that had only burger menu. The staff were apologetic but said they couldn’t do anything about it. The burgers were good and in different circumstances it would have been fine but we were taking older relatives out for Sunday lunch. We would recommend the pub but not the booking system and recommend you phone pub direct.
It was brilliant, great food and super good service from all the staff
Should always have the fire pit on as so cold ! Great place though really loved it
Lovely meal as always at the Bottle and Glass. Can’t fault food, service or ambience.
We had dinner in the burger barn and loved it.
Top food and service!
Great food and service and a really relaxed atmosphere
Decent burger and regretted not getting the double Pattie. Phillimore fries were more than required but bloody good!
Really sharp service.
Be prepared for evenings getting chillier.
The setting in the middle of the Chilterns was lovely. Plenty of parking both for the restaurant where we were and for the grill in the cleverly converted barn. The service was excellent, and all the staff were cheerful and friendly. We will certainly recommend you to our friends - and we will certainly be back!
We had a lovely meal. Food was delicious and a good selection on the menu. The service was very friendly and quick. We will definitely visit again very soon.
Stunning food great service. We’re coming again! Loved it
Adult meals good though not large. Child's meal scanty - child requested no peas but no substitute allowed and full price charged. Very few chips for child and adult meals. Salad garnish with ragu would have been nice.
A really enjoyable evening with nice fresh ingredients and a convivial atmosphere.
Fantastic food and friendly staff, will visit again.
Very happy with our meal with friends.
Good service, lovely resto and good food.
Great food in the main restaurant l, from the complimentary Soda bread with Smoked butter, through to the three desserts I ordered, thanks to Chef Joe! Highly recommend !
Food was average nothing to rush back for and the place was dirty. Crazy ro have a waste bin right next to the kitchen in full view of the dining area. Toilets were very dirty
Beautiful building and food was really good. There was fresh bread and butter to start, we ordered mackerel pate and garlic hummus with rustic crackers hand made. Lamb was tender and enjoyed it with the aubergine
Hadnt realised the restuarant was shut and that we were in the burger barn which was annoying as it was for a 21st birthday and it was too cold, so we were in and out in an hour.
Food and service both excellent though
Short staffed so service a little slow, but food quality was exceptional
Went for my dad's birthday and we absolutely loved it. I'd been to the burger barn before and it had been fantastic so my expectations were pretty high, but it lived up to it!
Gorgeous food all around and "The Ribeye" was a stand out for us.
Pleasant setting, but expensive for burger and chips
