I had a lovely early dinner with my daughter on Mar. 12th. The restaurant was quiet that night and we had a leisurely meal that was excellent. Our server was Mitch who was attentive without being disruptive. Thanks for a great experience!
Everything was great except the lighting! Could hardly read the menu.
Delicious steaks & rack of lamb. The caesar salad was very good
Excellent food. Excellent wine selection. Cheerful and knowledgeable waitress. Clean and comfortable table.
Great food and service
We had a great meal at the Chop House. The food was delicious and the service was great. We will dine here again.
First time at Chop House. We went for our Anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Our server Jen greeted us with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, which was much appreciated. She went over the menu and specials and told us her favorite items. We went with some of her recommendations and were not disappointed. The restaurant also offered a complimentary dessert which was unexpected but also appreciated. I can’t say enough about our server Jen and the staff overall. The hostess was very friendly as well. We stopped on our way out to speak to the on duty manager to tell her how wonderful our experience was and how well we were treated. I definitely recommend for a special occasion or a business dinner.
Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, wonderful staff.
7:45 reservation, they were out of lobster... chicken picatta tasteless, onion rings tasteless. Very disappointed.
Excellent meal. Terrific service. Quiet in the room we sat.
Great food+drink, great service, and great atmosphere.
The service was great but the restaurant was loud and the food was over salted.
Mitch is a great server.
Great waiter, excellent drinks, service and great food cooked to perfection
Great food and service. Staff was awesome and accommodating. We will definitely go back
My wife’s cosmopolitan was half full, one of our guests ordered tonic and it tasted odd. Told the waiter who said that they had been having trouble all day. Finally a member of the kitchen staff served the entrees and spilled my beer on the entree as well as my leg. He fetched a napkin and wiped the beer off the plate and left it on the table. I would recommend a better restaurant with trained staff.
Tried the Chop House for happy hour (4-7 daily ). Food was great and service excellent despite the bar being packed. Super value for the quality and amount of food. Drinks were also discounted and very good. We will probably do happy hour again and try the full restaurant, too
We took our godson, a freshman at CSU, to celebrate his first semester.
First, the restaurant was empty! And we were seated in the farthest room, farthest table - no one was in the place except for the bar.
Second, the calamari appetizer, fish main dish and sides were served cold - not even warm.
The manager did take care of our meals, however this was the most disappointing meal. We’ve eaten here a number of times and this was the worst. We actually left and ate elsewhere after that. We won’t be back any time soon.
Valentine's Day good despite the clowns in this kitchen. Dried out chicken on a Ceasar Salad. My date had their halibut which was tough (overcooked?). The halibut was returned and taken off the bill... I guess you stick with steak when you go to the Boulder ChopHouse.
It was very crowded for the Happy Hour and could not get in even when we has a reservation. Had to work through the crowd. Had Soda to drink and it only go refilled with the water once. We understand it was Valentine Day but for the price you expect more. The food was great. We all had steaks and they were very good.
Got there early, just after they opened, service and food was excellent. Will come again.
Booth was too small, busboy was inexperienced and waiter talked over us when we interrupted his specials recital. Pleasant room, with good lighting.
Absolutely outstanding! Happy hour was perfect with the setting and music and the dinner was spectacular. Excellent service, food, and ambiance!
Service was decent, food was slow to arrive, I could tell it was sitting for a few minutes as it was lukewarm but the food was good
Great food with fantastic service. Whatever you do please order the french onion soup. It is by far the best I have had in a while. The right amount of cheese, crouton and onion. I am still craving it. I had the bone in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the prime rib and it was very good as well. The service was great and that isn't something you find in Boulder all the time. I look forward to going back.
Family day for students at CU.
The food was good. But it wasn't amazing. We both had the prime rib eye, with 2 sides. I had two beers. With 20% tip it was $170.00. If it had been $100, I'd be raving about it. but for $170, I just expected a bit more.
Food was excellent and prices better than comparable restaurants of this caliber. Service was slow - a lot of up selling on toppings and sauces, especially when portions could have been shared between more than one diner. All items didn’t arrive together. Disappointing level of service for a Choohouse.
The best happy hour on the planet, hands down. We were visiting Boulder and we made a reservation for dinner just in case we couldn't get a seat at the happy hour. We arrived at 5:30 and were able to get two seats at the bar. There were a few tables still available in the bar but all were taken by 6:00. Alex and Ken took great care of us, keeping drinks and food coming. We could not believe the quality of the food for the happy hour. We had 3 cocktails and 4 glasses of wine, two appetizers, a soup, 2 salads and a dinner and our bill was $56 before tip. That's crazy-crazy good!!!
Great restaurant! Great food , but a little pricey for what you get. Great place to celebrate a special occasion or go once a year!
Host never read/acknowledged the special occasion and comments in the OpenTable reservation. The appetizer and dessert was good and our server was very good. The quality of our filets was not as I would expect for the price. Seems equivalent of what you would get from a grocery store at best. Certainly not near the quality of say a Tony's Market. Not what I would expect from a ChopHouse. The dining area is drafty in places and could use both maintenance and updating. It seems like this place is resting on it's laurels and running on auto-pilot. It could be a much better establishment and provide a better customer experience/value.
Every time I’m in Boulder I stop by The Post. The good is always great. I especially like the Mac & cheese.
Unfortunately we had to send my husbands steak back since he asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it came out medium well. My petite filet though it was cooked correctly lacked flavor and seasoning.
Our waiter was awesome and the cheddar mashed potatoes were fabulous. However being that this is considered a more expensive steakhouse one would expect to have really amazing well cooked steaks and that the chefs would know how to cook a medium rare steak and not serve a medium well steak. We left feeling underwhelmed.
If you want to sit at a table you will almost certainly spend your meal getting bumped by passing wait staff/customers - aisles are too narrow - booths are the way to go.
Entrees are prepared very well and mashed potatoes are to die for, I wish they would focus a little more on side dishes and desserts though as they lack creativity and execution compared to entrees - missed opportunity on their part I think.
Will return in the future...which speaks well of your establishment
Not for the dining room anyway. This is the second time in a row that we had to put our sweaters and jackets on due to outside air coming into the restaurant from the additional entry doors to private rooms. And my guests waited to order their bottle of wine until 10 mins. after their dinner was served leaving them to either eat cold food w/ their wine or no dinner left to enjoy w/ their bottle of wine. On my first visit I also encountered a waitress complaining fervently to a co-worker about another worker...right behind our booth. Food was just OK on both visits.....and with paying almost $300.00 on the bill.....expect better than this!! I'd be reticent to also recommend the happy hour or dining in the bar due to crowds and noise. Will be hard pressed to return.
Went here for NYE and was disappointed. While not our first time here it had been a while. The food at best was the quality I'd expect from a Chili's. The fish was dry and previously frozen (or at least tasted like it was). If you are going to charge those prices I'd expect fresh. The meat dish was like warm at best. The service was slow and inattentive. Our previous experience was flawless albeit it was over 10 years ago, its obvious the same standards dont apply now. If you like subpar service, quick service quality food at 4 star prices and an uninspiring ambience this is the place for you. There are much better dining options in the area.
New Year’s Eve🎉
The service was absolutely the worst! I received a salad with no dressing. By the time the waitress got around to checking on us and took the salad back for dressing, the rest of the meal arrived. She left the salad without comment and walked away. I paid extra for a salad that I couldn't eat without letting the rest of my order get cold. The waitress didn't even offer to take it off the bill.
