Boulevard Brasserie is one of Covent Garden’s most iconic restaurants fixtures. Serving heart-warming French classics since 1991, this grande dame of brasseries is the perfect place to soak up Covent Garden's unique cultural heritage.

Set over three intimate floors with views of the Royal Opera House and décor reminiscent of 1920’s art nouveau Europe, Boulevard Brasserie echoes a true sense of Parisian style in London’s own Theatreland.

The restaurant and café offers a selection of carefully curated menus founded on seasonality, freshness and flavour. Guests can choose from our popular Lunch and Pre-Theatre Menu, Light Lunches, Dinner Menu and our Weekend Breakfast menu all serving Parisian classics such as French Onion Soup, Moules Marinière & frites, Croque Monsieur, Coq au vin, Crème Brûlée and our much-loved Traditional Afternoon Tea Menu.

Arrived at 6 on a Saturday eve. Place busy and buzzing. Nice atmosphere. Became quieter as people left for theatres. Good food and service. Traditional french fare. First visit and felt welcoming. Would come back.

I was glad we were upstairs as it was a very hot day and it was cooler upstairs. The only thing I would say is the food came out super super quick. Yes, we were going to the theatre however it felt that as soon as the starter was finished we were eating our mains - no breather. I appreciate it is difficult to juggle times but just a bit too quick for us so could that have been down to the lovely new trainee waitress? Enjoyable and tasty nonetheless.

Fantastic personal service as always , a great little gem in Covent Garden serving well cooked tasty food at a good price point. The atmosphere was vibrant and the food was well prepared and beautifully presented and the service was impeccably attentive without being intrusive. Jenny the waitress was brilliant and supplied over and above the usual service expected to make a birthday lunch very special for a dear friend .

We will be back very soon .

Booked this restaurant as it was near to the Aldwych theatre. Very busy and buzzy, which is how I prefer it. Menu was varied, something for everyone. Tasty food. Excellent service by a trainee waitress. Very cheerful and capable. Used the Open Table 50% off food deal, so the final bill was excellent value. Just over thirty pound each for two course, including two bottles of wine for four of us.

Would have been 4* if the white wine hadn't have been warm. When I reported this, rather than replace it the staff simply threw a load if ice in a wine cooler. While this made it slightly less warm it was still warm.

Mixed feelings about this place. The venue is nice and decor and lighting is very good and creates a fairly intimate atmosphere despite being quite busy.

Two of us went for 50% off food bill option via opentable, and the bill came to under £50 for two and included two starters, two mains and two bottles of water (we didn't order wine).

The Asparagus Risotto was absolutely awful, a microwave heated monstrosity (presumably) that had no bite, not even remotely al dente and bland flavour. This restaurant gets busy with pre/post theatre crowd so they must have measures to serve things fast, but I would rather eat a microwave risotto from Marks and Spencer at home than eat this. Citrus Marinated Salmon was just that - salmon, celeriac remoulade was tasteless.

Mains were okay. Coq Au Vin is a large and hearty portion and Steak was okay, but not excellent.

Our mains were delayed and we were given free desserts to compensate. Desserts were decent, we had Chocolate Tart and Eton Mess.

The service is very good. Even though our server was a Trainee, she was attentive, pleasant and very welcoming. Management was also good with managing the delay.

Overall I would say this place is only worth visiting with the 50% offer. There is no way you should pay full price for this food. There are plenty of similar Brasseries around where food is tastier and comes at a more reasonable headline price (e.g. Le Garrick).

Based on this experience alone I would not be coming back and I would not recommend it. The food just isn't good enough. Maybe the chef had an off day, but I think it's more the risotto. I just can't get over that. It's a shame because the location, the decor, and the excellent service make this an otherwise decent place.

This was my second visit as I was really impressed when I first came. This time I was a bit disappointed with my dessert which was Eton Mess. The sundae dish was so full it was overflowing and wasn't on plate. The strawberries were not fresh and tasted as though they were from a tin and there was ice cream which I wasn't expecting. Eton Mess is fresh strawberries, cream and meringues. However, my main course was fine and it was very good value so I would come again.

Good menu with pleasant service. Mainly caters for pre and post theatre parties so can empty quickly and be very busy at peak times. Fine if going to theatre or in group but better venues if just going for diner.

We were on our way to "42nd Street" in Drury Lane and had booked Boulevard Brasserie for lunch at 12.30 (bookings are held for 15mins) but our coach from Dorset was running fearfully late. Soon after 12pm I rang B/B to explain and asked them to keep our table. We did not arrive til after 1pm. However, the Manager gave us such a warm welcome. We were now short of time. Very calmly the Manager advised us to order a main course and she would pack us a sweet to take away. The food and wine were superb (I had Coq au Vin, my friend had Baked Tuna - and later we ate excellent Chocolate tart with chantilly cream); the ambiance of the place was very good; the kindness of the staff could not have been better. Our whole experience of B/B was oustanding and I recommend them most highly.

Strict enforcement of a two hour maximum at the table rule took the edge off what could otherwise have ben a great experience. Despite requesting three hours at the table, we were reminded upon arrival and twice more towards the end of the meal that we had to vacate. Only three other tables were occupied with 80% unoccupied. We were about to buy more wine, chees and crackers and possibly liqueurs. Restaurants loss and doubt we'll ever visit a again because in most other respects it was very pleasant.

Although the food was great it was ruined by slow service. It was 45 minutes before we received our starters (3/7 adults) and then a further 45 minutes before the mains. We were told that it would be on its way when we asked but were told “you’ve only just finished your starters” so it took 1 hour 30 for some of our party to get their dinner. It was so slow in fact the manager had to chase our food up in the kitchen.

We have been here a few times over the years taking advantage of the 50% off deal. Menu has expanded since we last went though the prices have also gone up. The seafood risotto was fantastic and with the deal, especially given it was a Friday, it was good but £20 for mains before the discount is steep

I just keep coming back! Why? Because I have always enjoyed the food and been made to feel welcome. This time I brought two friends who had never been before and loved it. We all opted for smoked salmon to start and continued the fish theme after. The fresh tuna was perfectly cooked and the cod from the special menu was delicious. My large bowl of mussels was steaming hot and in a lovely sauce. Would have liked a piece of French bread to mop it up, but a spoon worked! The other two managed a dessert - Morris's carrot cake and tangy sorbet. All this and a nice bottle of wine, with a special offer deal it all came to less than £30 each. That's the reason I was here two consecutive days this week and it is my restaurant of choice to bring friends to as i can rely on the quality and service in a great location
