Boulters Restaurant & Bar
Shame on the paper napkins. With this kind of service you should have linen or cotton please!
we took my daughter here for her birthday, We had an amazing lunch in every way.
All good. Food and choices excellent. Lovely location and pleasant serving staff
The food was good and the staff very accommodating as they originally placed us on a table near a large party (noisy) but moved us near the window upon request.
The restaurant was rather noisy as the bar is directly above - much quieter during the week.
Good choice of menu and the service was quick and efficient and friendly.
Parking is a problem as the restaurant is by the Thames and very busy. There is a Pay and Display not too far away.
The food was absolutely incredible. I would strongly advise the 28 day aged steak! My partner had the Merrifield Duck and loved it too.
The staff were extremely friendly. They did not pester us every 5 minutes but we're quick to react if they saw we needed something.
100% will be going again soon.
Lovely location, excellent food and very efficient service. One of my favourite places to eat.
Service, setting and food were all very, very good.
While it was the busiest Monday with almost all tables taken the standard of service, was firstly class and the food was of the usual high standard.
I am looking forward to my next visit.
Such a beautiful location on the Thames - you look down the river from the restaurant, not just across the river at the other bank. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is excellent.
Yes absolutely. The setting is lovely, although pot luck if you get a table by the window. Whole experience a pleasure.
Excellent and friendly service. Superb brunch food and really nice coffee. Thank you.
Excellent location. Great fixed price lunch £21.00.
We went there for lunch on a Monday for a wedding anniversary, the service was exceptional, food great, view on the thames river fantastic.
I would definitely recommend going there weekday lunch to avoid the crowd
Even on a rainy day the views down the Thames are great. Food and service as excellent as always and very good value too
Great service and food, even better that Beau the dog could join us too.
Relaxing and scenic , lovely staff , friendly and attentive
Would be going back many more times
Had the most relaxing afternoon there in the terrace
Setting and food was very nice , the terrace menu was rather limited.
Service wasn’t great had to keep getting up to get menu. Ask questions etc.
Excellent view of the Thames River, food and service were very good. Limited parking for those driving. Highly recommended!
Always a pleasure dining at Boulters. Lovely food and venue. Chocolate fondant was a bit of a let down
Pleasant surroundings, efficient polite staff. Delicious food.
Not great children choices and had run out of bread! Ha to wait for ages for bill as no staff about!
Haven’t been back to this restaurant for 25 years as it went downhill. What a wonderful surprise last week to see it had been refurbished to a good standard and the food and service plus the view was very good. Will definitely return.
Lovely setting on the river. Food was very nice, served on warm plates which is something I was pleased to see, so many places put hot food on cold plates. why??!!
service was very friendly and quick, food was a real let down unfortunately
Starter came with large amount of rocket main was Samon fish cake came alone with
Large amount of rocket, next day checked Bill they had charged for 2 bottles water we only had one, feel they need too look at the food they are serving what they are serving it with.
I asked for a £9.50 gin and tonic. The barman asked me if I wanted a single or double. I chose a single. I was then gobsmacked when he said in a very unapologetic tone, "I'll have to charge you an extra £1.75 for the tonic if you have a single." No explanation, no hint of embarrassment, just matter of fact. Needless to say I chose the double. The fried fish was over-cooked with crunchy batter. Not a great experience, but the views are lovely. Hopefully just an off-day.
First visit - had to ask for drinks order to be taken... starters all ok, mains - 4 had burgers were not well done and were barely warm - other dishes nice... puddings all ok.... staff apologised for burgers and offered to fix....
amazing setting and would return for a second chance...
Food was nice but it was a bit frustrating to have some confusion about the place of booking (bar area or restaurant). One member of staff said that no bookings are taken for the bar area (this was what I had booked on open table) and another one said that we were late for our table after drinks in the bar. Some training for staff seems useful.
The ambience is great and views are spectacular. The waiters are pleasant but attention a bit lacking. The choice of food is very limited and not in line with what could be expected from a restaurant in such a prime location.
We love to lunch here- plenty of choice and some starters can be made up to a main course
Perfect sizes for 3 course lunch-- we have already re booked!
Great choice & lovely food & presentation. Def go back! Views fantastic too. Service little slow - but we werent in a rush
Excellent my friend and I have been regulars for years. Chef now doen't want to serve anything that isn't on the menu which is shame as we always loved to have garlic mushrooms and spinach with our stake and chips. Sadly as neither are on the menu chef declined to serve even though we suspect there might be some in the kitchen. It's those little extras that regulars love.
Have been to Boulters a number of times before as it's a good place to stop on the river and always had good food and service. On Sunday we went with our son for Sunday lunch and it was very disappointing. The crab salad starter was fine, tasty, fresh and well presented. My wife and I had the roast lamb and the meat was terrible, full of fat and gristle, there wasn't a mouthful when we didn't have to spit something out. My son had the fish and chips which was OK, but the fish was tasteless and didn't seem very fresh.
We sent the lamb back and decided to order the roast beef instead, we were asked how we wanted it cooked and we ordered one medium and one medium rare. It arrived quickly, but the meat was well done and tasted like it had been sitting there for a while, reminded me of school dinners. Having been asked how we wanted it cooked I would have expected to be at least a little bit pink and both were exactly the same.
I did complain again, but we didn't send it back as I just wanted to get on with my lunch. Service was OK, but would have expected some sort of discount off the bill as it spoilt our day a bit. Not sure we will go again.
After waiting about an hour or more the food was delivered COLD and badly cooked my wife asked for well done and it was rare just one small slice and the poorest quality meat the same with the pork
The manager offered to recook but we were beyond eating at 3.30 or 4pm and she said there was no charge for the soups etc
The manager said she would send an email to Mr Abbey offering a return visit for the 4 of us as guests of the restaurant - Not received
Lovely place to spend Easter Sunday. Restaurant surprisingly uncrowded but the upstairs bar looked packed. Good food, reasonably priced. Only downside was a party of four who must have thought they were the only ones there because they spoke extremely loudly to each other across the table, making quiet conversation at nearby tables almost impossible.
This is a fabulous setting - and perfect weather on Easter Saturday only enhanced it.
Breakfast menu is rather short - and some fruit and yoghurt would have ben appreciated. Scrambled eggs with bacon were good - but it seemed the toast hadn't been buttered, so was rather dry - also no option as to types of bread. Seemed a little understaffed.
Coffee was very good - but we weren't asked if we wanted anymore hot drinks after the plates had been cleared away - a missed opportunity?
Really nice staff, food and the VIEW!
Perfect location, lovely food, just a bit of a long wait for main courses to arrive, but well worth the wait. We would definitely recommend it and we would return.
It was an amazing experience, the food was excellent and the ambiance lovely.
Very pleasant meal with my 84yr old mother who ate very well for her. Food was excellent but my med-rare steak was a little tough to say the least. Tasted great though. Very friendly staff as always.
Would and will go again.
