BOWL's menu is seasonal, featuring a selection of bowls from the Southeast Asian to Caribbean, bowls include ‘Zari-pho’, Braised beef Pho to Malaysian Laksa, Caribbean BBQ Jerk Chicken with rice n peas; and Jamaican Curry Goat. A range of signature sips include ‘Aloha Royal’ and the ‘#IncrediBowl Negroni’. Great spot to catch up with friends or a causal dinner.
‘It was big news that bowls were served to guests at the Royal Wedding but in many cultures across the world this is just the norm. I want to bring something to London that will become more than just a trend…. it will be the way we eat in the future.’ Zarifa (owner)
The food is great, but the service is lacking a bit. That’s easy to change though so this place has great potential!
Good food. Excellent service. Staff were really friendly.
Great food and great service, would highly recommend
Beautifully decorated and friendly staff, the food is very nice but a little bland - we asked for extra chilli to add to our dishes and would have added salt if there was any on the table.
As they are newly opened I'd would go back again in a few months to see if they have found their flavour
Our waiter forgot to put down our order. We sat and waited half an hour, no one thought it odd that we didn't order anything and felt they needed to ask. After waiting for so long, we asked if they could check on our food, and that's when they realised they've made a mistake. No one actually approached us and apologised, they just whispered and glanced at us all guilty-looking. One waiter even further asked if we wanted anything to drink (as in, to order more stuff). We were gonna be late for theatre so we just got up and left. No apology offered, no remedies proposed. Very, very, very unprofessional and immature.
Food was appalling and service even worse. The waitress even had the audacity to mimic me when I was annoyed the sauce never arrived for the dry rice I was served! There is an awkward DJ in the corner which didn’t fit the mood of the restaurant either. Overall seriously disappointing meal.
Bowls was a great experience for me and my friends. We were greeted by the owner who’s hospitality was amazing along with the other staff there.
I really enjoyed the food too as it was a great combo. The jerk wings are amazing.
I will definitely be going back and telling all my friends.
Great place of bbq jerk chicken but could have more caribbean variety.
Nice setting and good service. However food quality was only average at best. The rice for the poke is was too moist, and the tuna has lost all texture. The broth for the pho also lacked taste. Was expecting better quality food when looking at the menu, but were unfortunately let down.
I had an issue with my food, brought it to the attention of a staff member and they handled it really well and replaced it as quickly as they could. The manager personally apologised and offered us drinks as a gesture of apology. The food was really delicious... I left feeling extremely full. Great value for money and lovely staff.
Wonderful little gem!
Great food, great service, very considerate, awesome flavours and very generous alcohol portions in their cocktails! Also their ‘tap’ option doesn’t taste like Tap and I feel like even Larry David couldn’t tell the difference. What I loved most is that we were eating wings and the lady came and gave us a bowl with warm water and lime to soak our hands. The same lady engaged us in conversation, gave us in-depth recommendations and great assurance on what we ordered. Seeing we already had cocktails, offering us some alternatives.
I have to say, for someone who has discovered countless gems around Soho, this is by far one of the best recommendations I have been given by a co worker of mine. The customer service was fantastic. I was sat down on our reserved table and kindly guided through the menu with their delicious starters and main courses.
I MUST RECOMMEND THE JERK CHICKEN WINGS! Wow. The waitress Charlene also recommended the curry goat dish with rice and peas which had an authentic taste packed full of flavour. We were then advised to try the beef cheeks which completely melted in our mouths. Fantastic! Finishing off the meal with a refreshing sorbet dessert mixture with pleasant presentation. Just perfect! Please do try the cocktails too!
I am looking forward to making this a frequent business treat for our office. Definitely recommended!
We had an brilliant time at this restaurant, love the bowl concept! The food is absolutely amazing, with a great menu of choices inc cocktails. Staff are super friendly and attentive, we lucked out on Friday with a superb DJ playing a very good set. I’d defo come back to this restaurant again.
The quality of the ingredients was poor. We were one of the early diners and the restaurant already ran out of several dishes on a menu that is limited to begin with. Overall a very disappointing experience.
A good concept but needs fine tuning. Service was slow considering it was not busy at all. Food was nice but not the best and was quite expensive considering the portion sizes of some of the dishes. There lacked consistency between the different “bowls” i.e. the bibimbap was huge but the pho was tiny and both were considered “greedy bowls”. Good for groups who have different tastes.
The staff were super friendly and even gave us a little something extra because they overheard that my wedding was only two weeks away, which I was very appreciative of. Food and ambiance was great too but special shout out to their gorgeous loos. (:
Enjoyable atmosphere, interesting concept and good house wine. Our waiter definitely made our night - she was fabulous.
Slightly overpriced for the portions you are paying for. The menu is quite limited for those who have a vegetarian diet.
I went there for a late lunch and back for a quick casual dinner. The interiors fit with the style of the food and the concept itself. Friendly staff, simple cocktails but well prepared. I’m sure this place will become a hotspot in Soho.
An excellent find ideally located Soho. Perfect for a relaxed occasion.
Very disappointed with the good. Was so looking forward to coming here. Some dishes we wanted to order were not available, dine came out mildly warm considering it was pre-theatre & we were one of the first tables of the evening that we not acceptable. Extremely disappointed as this place came highly recommended. Will definitely not be going back.
This is my third time already... and I still having tried everything that's a must! Being a massive "foodie" and loving a restaurant with good drinks and atmosphere - This is a perfect spot!
Thanks Bowls... You really made my party an amazing night to remember!
The vibe is perfect! Food is inexpensive and tasty! Staff is very friendly and the owner is very pleasant lady :) Would go back again, and again! Well done guys! P.S. add woofer to your sound system, you play awesome tunes!!!
Had a dinner with my friends. All of us have different dietary requirements, but the chef was able to adjust some dishes to be vegan. Joloff rice with jackfruit is amazing, so were the courgette fries. My friends really enjoyed the ceviche selection, especially the tuna.
Great place for a group of people, fun to share dishes. Very excited to come on a weekend to hear the DJ!
I work in the area and I have seen the changes BOWLS did, which is great. Now it’s a lovely vibrant venue. A great addition to the soho area, serving South East Asian and Caribbean food to the locals. The curry goat and Laksa were outstanding. I heard they will be doing order to collect soon, definitely my new lunch spot.
Good vibes and energy in this new soho spot. Something different in the area, tried their signature Jerk chicken, and my friend had the beef cheeks. It was a good also the beverages with some signatures very interest. As I am italian I could not have a sip or their version of the Negroni found it “incredibowl” as they called it.
Me and my friend are planning to come back on the week end. The staff advised us they are going to do Dj Live music so we can’t lose it.
Well done Bowls team!
Lovely dining spot before theatre. We had a selection of Beenie Bowls and Jerk chicken bowls and laksa to share as main. Good portion, lovely vibes in the restaurant. The Manager told us there are quite a few booth tables, so we may go back for the Christmas celebration.
Being a foodie, I am impressed with this new hot spot at St Anne's court. Combining three cuisines under one roof. Beautiful Graffiti decoration in the dining room. Laksa was my favourite dish, spicy and rich, but I like it. This bowl reminds me of my Malaysia trip last year, well done guys. Cocktails were good, well we had 3 each, oh well, its December, celebration time. Will come back to try more of their IncrediBowl (love their hashtag)
Style over substance - the priority was the bowl as opposed to the food. Food was average and you couldn’t use a fork and knife with a bowl!
The food was good quality, and the choice was appropriate to satisfy all tastes, international. Recommend the Curry Goat, and Zari-pho, lovely touch of adding the owner's name to the Bowls's name. Som Tam Thai salad was a surprise, never tired it before, but it's a good one to share as a side dish. The server told us there is DJ playing on Friday and Saturday, so definitely will go back for that.
Dined at Bowls the other night, I really enjoyed the Laksa and the ceviche selection, the atmosphere was great, the waiter was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the menu to us and told us a bit about the owners and her passion for food and drinks, and yes a great and simple cocktail selection well executed shame it was a Monday night, but we may go back on the weekend they say they have a DJ also.
Hi, it was our first visit and whilst the food was very tasty, could have done with a bit more of it, left feeling hungry..!
I went during the soft launch so allowance were made, however the vegetables were over salty which ruined a few dishes. They did offer to repacked them but we declined. The Jollof Rice was nice but I’ve had better from Tastys and that’s saying a lot.
My biggest issue was the noice. They had a DJ but it was so hard to have a conversation and everyone else in the restaurant was speaking loudly to compensate for the loud music which resulted in a loud space
On the plus side the bowls the dishes are served in are very nice but not all of the were practical in terms of sharing and it eating from
This was such a good meal. I loved the fusion across South American and Asian. Fresh ingredients and unique flavours. The scallop ceviche and the chicken wings are a must try!!
Had a lovely meal, the ambience of the place is very lively and relaxed. It was a really nice gesture from the owner to stop by the table to chat.
With the concept being that all food is served in bowls - very pretty bowls, this is definitely a restaurant for the instagram generation. The food itself is also beautifully presented and there's a fairly broad menu to choose from to suit most tastes. Staff are super friendly, really making you feel welcome.
The restaurant is vibrant, and the atmosphere is just right. I enjoyed the great selection of cocktails very well presented, the food is exactly what’s on the label served in bowls; selection to choose from is worth going back to try more of what they have on offer. The service was friendly approachable and fun. Looking forward to visit again this weekend when the DJ is playing.
Nice deco, good atmosphere, very friendly staff and super nice owner who took time to explain the menu for us.
We visited on their 3rd day of opening and there were teething issues... No waiter was specifically assigned to our table - which was fine - until you had to chase up for everything: the water re-fill, taking away the finished dishes... and no one offered a dessert menu after we sat around for ages having finished our mains with bowls collected away. A bit disappointed from that regard. Everyone was running around and there seemed insufficient staff, although there were loads of them behind the bar, not sure doing what.
Food-wise: a well thought-out menu; drinks menu was also awesome. The small bowl chicken wings were great, and the bibimbap was fab (but smaller / less steak than what their official photos showed) - would recommend. However, we are sorry to say that the beef cheeks were not great. Super salty root vegetables and small portion of meat for the price (most expensive dish in the large bowl section). A bit of a weird dish that. Overall it was a good place to try out, but not sure we'd be back.
I understand this place has just opened and there will be teething problems. I don’t expect perfect at such an early stage. I was pretty dissappointed with the food in general. The fish buns were great as were some of the veg sides. The prawn tostadas were literally 2 prawns in a tiny bowl with something crunchy, the goat curry came without a sauce and was pretty underwhelming. The cocktails looked pretty but you could barely taste any booze. They seemed to be trying hard but the food needs to be much, much better when you have so many cheaper and tastier options in Soho. We paid £50 for lunch for 2 and this included the 30% soft launch discount.
