Great food and good service, unfortunately for me, there was a very loud table of 8 ladies getting together and that certainly damped the enjoyment of the meal, not that the restaurant could have done anything about it, bottom line great food, reasonable wines and good service. Will have to try it again:)
Nicely presented food but red mullet instead of hake.
The creme brûlée was far too sweet and I nearly sent it back as left me feeling a bit sick. I was being treated so I didn't. Sugar is very bad for one.
Bradleys was a lovely surprise. It had been recommended by a friend and knowing we'd be in the area, we booked a table. The food was fantastic, the service friendly but not intrusive. My husband and I had a much-needed lovely evening.
Good food and service in a friendly modern environment.
I dont want to recommend Bradley's to too many poeple as then I wont be able to get in when I want to!
I have taken several people there all of whom throughly enjoyed their visit.
Bradley's in Swiss Cottage is a great place to have a meal before going to the Hampstead Theatre, or a movie at the Odeon. We had a great pre-theatre meal of 3 courses: duck liver parfait with plums (parfait was a little dry but the sauce saved it), followed by the aubergine rollatini which was superb. I had the blood orange and peach sorbets for dessert--best sorbet in London, bar none.
Excellent 2 course set menu ideal for pre-theatre. The fish dishes are particularly good
The food was very good indeed, as was the wine. We drank by the glass in order to enjoy different meat and fish dishes between the pair of us. We tend to go here for birthdays and the like as the food is always great.
Having visited Bradleys many times over the years & enjoyed the experience I was disappointed with my last visit. The service was very slow & we were kept waiting a very long time for our ordered dessert wines - partly due to the fact that they had run out of it but didn't tell us that until our desserts were served and then took a long time before serving an alternative - because the 2 waiters were rushing about dealing with all the other patrons too. Maybe they were unusually busy for a Monday but most bookings are made in advance. Also my wiener schnitzel was far too thickly covered in breadcrumbs & was overcooked and greasy. It would also have been better served with potato salad than oily saute potatoes. I hope the whole experience was an unusual glitch - I may give it one more try. Or has ownership & management changed?
Top quality vegetarian food
Best food I’ve ever had, will definitely be coming back
Food was fantastic. Service was also great. My only feedback would be around the ambience. There was no music playing in the background at all. Now that’s not necessarily a bad thing. But, it does not lend itself to diners having a relaxed time to talk etc. I would have liked to have had something quiet and ambient at the very least.
Otherwise. Fantastic place for food and price. Go for it.
We go every year iN August as we can rely on good value and having a lovely time. I think it would be super if someone would go outside and cut off dead branches from trees as the garden is one of the things that makes it special for me
Lovely restaurant, particularly for vegetarians - first class food, rather nice wine by the glass. Amazing desserts. Service is professional and attentive but never obvious. Good place for a celebration. Three courses and three glasses of different wine/head cost around £70/head. There are great value set menus. Recommended.
Great specials of the day
It is the second time we had dinner in Bradley's and this time was even better than the first time! The summer menu, especially the Ras el Hanout Spiced Cauliflower Steak, is delicious.
Ambiance and service are very good and the OpenTable offers are nice.
We made our dinner reservation here because we needed to be in the Swiss Cottage area that evening. Next time, we'll come back just to eat at Bradley's. The food was superb -- very fresh, creative, and perfectly prepared. We highly recommend the grilled sole; it was the fish of the day, but if the chef did such a lovely job on that delicate fish, we are sure the other choices would be equally good. We were also delighted by the amuse bouche the preceded the meal (a seafood croquette and gazpacho) and again by the lovely little dessert selection that surprised us at the end. (The miniature berry lemon tart was especially delicious.) Highly recommended.
Beautiful food as always, great service, always made welcome.......and thank you for your "birthday treat".... we love coming to your restaurant!
Good food, but portion could be bigger and with more vegetables.
Always good at Bradleys. Service slightly slower than usual due to small staff glitch but always generous and friendly. Will be back.
This is a lovely restaurant, good ambience, really nice atmosphere. My only point is that I wish they would introduce some small changes to the menu- we have been eating here for years and it’s still the same! To be fair an excellent vegetarian/vegan menu has been introduced.
An unexpected pleasure to have rediscovered this neighbourhood gem after many years . We went with my mother in law on Saturday evening and had a lovely evening with very good food and charming service . The four gras was an unusual offering of hot and cold both elements being delicious . My duck was cooked exactly as I had requested “ french pink rather than English pink “ and both other main dishes were very good . Only one of us made it to dessert and claimed it to b just right . This is certainly a restaurant to revisit .
Food was amazing, service fantastic. Opentable set menu great value. Highly recommend
Starters and sides were good but the main dishes were ok, we felt they were overpriced. The soufflé could have had more volume.
We found the atmosphère not great, the restaurant was empty from before 10PM and there was no background music. Not a great feeling.
The food and service were incredible. Nothing was too much to ask for at the restaurant!
Visited Bradleys for the first time on 14 June 2019 early evening - what a wonderful find! Superb food, beautifully presented, excellent service. 2 of us ate of the Set menu (fish, lamb) and dessert, all excellent. 2 ate of a la carte (veal, steak), superb sorbet/ ice cream flavours! Will definitely be returning.
You can see why this place is a staple of the area and has been around for years. Very good quality food at a very reasonable price. The service was patchy because there were too few staff members around. When they did come to the table, however, they were very attentive. For the value, and it’s useful location serving NW without having to stretch legs to get into London, it’s a place I will return.
Great place for a Sunday lunch, relaxed and lovely food in a wonderful setting
Food was mediocre. All a bit under seasoned. Medium rare lamb was still baa-ing! Main course of asparagus was tiny.
Had to ask twice for salt as first waiter forgot.
The place is lovely but the overall experience was disappointing and 12.5% service charge was too much for the level of attentiveness we experienced
We have been enjoying meals at Bradley’s for many years, and I am happy to say that the standard of both food and service has always been of a very high standard. The menu changes regularly, with an excellent vegetarian section. In addition, there is always a choice of several home made breads, with an inclusion of amuse bouches and petit four. All these little extras add to the enjoyment of the evening.
Oh that every theatre was as lucky as Hampstead theatre is having this gem around the corner offering such an excellent pre-theatre menu.
Our second visit to Bradley’s was as good as our first. The food was lovely and a bit different to what I prepare at home so it was a real treat.
We have often looked at the menus at this restaurant when visiting Hampstead Theatre. We tried it last Saturday and have to say that it exceeded very high expectations. The staff were really nice and the food was amazing. We liked the appetisers and various types of bread offered before our starters. Everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.
Had the 3 course OpenTable menu. It had good choices on it and quality of food and cooking was good. At £24 per person a great value. The restaurant was a bit quiet which is why we marked down the ambience. With the place being less than half full it is difficult to get an atmosphere. Otherwise you can't argue with the value.
Great food, service and location. Definitely on my list to return!
The overall experience at Bradley’s is Avery pleasant one, the staff are very friendly and attentive, the food is very very good and it doesn’t take half your time spent in the restaurant to navigate the very good menu. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
Food was good as usual but service slower than usual and we had to forgo our dessert as we had to rush to the theatre,
Geared for pre-theatre crowd (first question they asked). Service was friendly and efficient. Food was tasty and well presented. A little expensive for what it is, especially the wine.
all the food was pretty bland, lacked seasoning, and was dry. All dishes could have done with more sauce - e.g. duck breast, needed some extra of the gravy which it came with, the tortelloni needed some olive oil or a sage butter.
