Portions are 'fine dining' size which we enjoy, some may be disappointed. Flavours are excellent, especially the jus/gravy. Chocolate fondant dessert - a hit. I found the wine prices rather steep but that would not put us off from a return visit. With the excellent service and food this was a very pleasant evening meal.
Good for a quiet romantic meal. Not cheap but overall pleasant experience Food was excellent. Portions a little smaller than expected or would have liked. We booked a few days prior and was offered 6.30 pm slot assuming restaurant would be full. On arrival we were slightly surprised the restaurant was quite quiet and would had preferred a later time when ambience improved.
Good food and wine. Service also very good. My partner had the red mullet starter which she didn’t like. Lamb main was nice but very small. I had scallops and cod which were both excellent. If I had one gripe slightly over priced but would have no hesitation in returning again.
A lovely evening, with fantastic food..
Wow! Excellent service, friendly but unobtrusive, food was some of the best I've ever had. Certainly coming here again!
Good food and service very helpful staff. We enjoyed the experience
An excellent place to dine, fabulous food, the lamb was exceptional, very good service, made our anniversary dinner very special, would thoroughly recommend it
We went to Brasserie by the Bay for my 30th birthday whilst visiting Torquay. What a hidden gem, we will and have been telling everyone about it since. The food was incredible and the staff were brilliant. We will 100% be revisiting when we’re next down.
This is the restaurant for fine dining absolutely brilliant, food was excellent and the service could not been better. In my opinion 2 Michelin stars.
Food was amazing and service was excellent. We really couldn't fault it at all
Lovely little gem
Staff were really attentive
Food was delicious
The food was nothing short of outstanding. The staff were all lovely. We highly recommend coming here and when we next visit Torquay we will definitely be coming back.
Great food, I had scallops followed by lamb and my husband gad a delicious loin of cod. Service was superb, friendly but not intrusive. Would highly recommend
Exceptional food. Service was perfect and the surroundings were gorgeous.
Highly recommend dinner at the Brasserie. Away from central Torquay the hotel and Brasserie are great. Charming service, good wine recommendations and great food to back it up.
Covid protocols and table spacing all excellent/no concerns.
Lovely food, wine and service
A lovely restaurant with great quality food!
This is an excellent place to eat. We visited for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The traditional Sunday roast was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit.
Exquisite flavours and perfect presentation - friendly service and great location 👍🏻
Great food and ambience. If we lived locally we would be regulars! Recommended.
Extremely good find, second time here, lovely wine and food. Service on the first visit was a bit hit and miss, but excellent this time around.
Decent food and location ambience fine, but staff poorly trained
Great service, lovely setting and delicious food! Would definitely come again!
Our first visit and we benefited from dining at 6pm so had 3 courses for £28 which made it a very good value meal. The full priced menu looked pretty expensive but the food certainly was exceptional, lovely atmosphere and super staff. My main course, Creedy carver corn fed chicken supreme, confit leg, burnt corn, prosciutto crisp, tarragon and red wine jus came in a dome with hickory type smoke which was not only very theatrical but added a super flavour to the whole dish. To be honest, the portions were fairly large for this type of cuisine and I felt over full (my lack of self-control!!) after 3 courses. Maybe serve less food and take a couple of £s of the prices. I know this won't suit the folk who like whacking great platefuls of food so I guess it's about who you are aiming to attract. Overall though, a great addition to Torquay's restaurant choices.
Really good food and service from this family run restaurant. Will definitely frequent again when in the area.
Felt very safe when entering and our table was a good distance from other diners. The service was excellent as usual and we were eager to try the new menu. We were not disappointed our meal was delicious.
Such a wonderful experience. Great service and excellent food.
Excellent food quality, packed with flavour and beautifully presented.
So good we had a second night here too.
Given the covid situation the staff were very attentive and caring.
Great food, lovely relaxed ambience and good service. Would highly recommend for a good quality enjoyable meal for two.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Fine dining without unnecessary formality.
Great food, great service, in the present situation cannot fault anything about safety standards.
A wonderful find and highly recommended.
So good we enquired about Christmas Day
What a delicious dinner. Some of the best food we had in the southwest. The highlights were definitely the scallops and that AMAZING banoffee tart!!
Our 3rd visit in the last 2 months. This time superb Carpaccio of Venison for me and Gin cured Salmon starter for my wife, both bursting with flavour. Followed by beautifully cooked Halibut mains for both (see menu), again full of flavour complementing the fish and to finish excellent desserts. The chef is very talented and highly skilled. Service is efficient, friendly and Covid safe. The Wine list is reasonable priced for the quality
My husband and I had a very enjoyable evening everything was excellent. I am just sorry we didn’t find this restaurant at the beginning of our holiday.
Service excellent, food great and beautifully presented. Nice, intimate setting. Would definitely recommend and revisit if in the area again.
Amazing food, friendly hosts made a great dining experience.
Had a lovely meal here. Me and my partner both had the 28 day aged fillet steak and it was absolutely amazing :)
Only downside was that the banoffee tart was slight burnt on the top
Other then that it was a lovely meal thanks very much
We had the halibut and it was beautifully presented, and so well cooked.
It was a lovely evening, all round.
