Brasserie Le Benaix

This was for my daughter’s birthday. We had a lovely time, the ambiance, food and service were exquisite. Have been before and will definitely be going, again

Wonderful in every respect bar one; the prices for drinks are eye-watering and bottles of wine are just bad value.

Shame really, as everything else was so good. It seemed like they were trying to recover some of 2021's losses!

Another good dine in meal at Le Benaix. It's such a shame that we will now only be able to get take away food from them for a while again. Special mention for the Asian beef brisket starter which was "melt in the mouth" as well as for the beef bourgignon which my wife had for the third time in just over a month!

I will continue going to Le Benaix as long as they provide the same very positive, pleasurable experience. It would be churlish to complain about anything. Indeed I cannot give any higher recommendation other than my partner would like to book the venue for our wedding reception sometime in the not too distant future.

Food was sadly dissapointing this time. Restaurant felt extrememly safe. Lacked atmosphere but that is to be expected.

Excellent food and service with discreet but effective Covid measures. There was a good atmosphere and the layout of tables means that everyone feels comfortable.

Booked a lunch for 2 on the first day back from second lockdown. Restaurant was very quiet as we were the only people eating!

This was our first visit here and Bearing in mind the current circumstances we found the service , food and overall value for money to be excellent

Fantastic food and service, highly recommend the goats cheese Bon bons and beef cheeks!

Sadly only 2 tables in use lunchtime. Not the cheapest place for lunch but food is excellent, service good and social distancing measures excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly, my husband had the beef cheeks which he said were superb and our son the hake with batter to die for. Chocolate and banana crepes just finished an excellent celebration lunch.

I had started dining at Le Benaix before lockdown and immediately became a fan! They provided an impressive take away service during the lockdown itself and I’m thrilled they’ve now reopened to eat at the restaurant.
The decor and ambience are both classy and comfortable . The distance between tables and safety procedures implemented make you feel safe and relaxed.
The food and service are always excellent, I highly recommend!!

One of the best restaurants in this part of Essex. Staff always friendly and attentive when required. You could easily pay nearly twice as much for this level of service and food in London.

We eat at Le Benaix a few times a year and really enjoy our experiences there. On this occasion the restaurant was quieter than usual which was understandable given Covid restrictions. Tables were well spaced out and screens were also placed between adjacent tables. All staff wore masks and gloves when serving and the environment felt extremely safe. Our food on this occasion was probably one of the best we have had at the restaurant. We can thoroughly recommend the scallop starter and the crepe dessert, but our mains were all equally delicious. Service was excellent as always. The visit was a welcome distraction from the pandemic restrictions, we felt almost normal! Thoroughly recommend a visit!

Lovely service as ever, food gorgeous it's my new favourite restaurant

The lamb was good but the flavour was lost with the oriental vegetables, my wife said the vegetables were hard.

Everything was really good. The food was delicious and well presented.

Very nice place but we were sat in the orangery that has no atmosphere & it’s cold, the main dining room is much nicer. Food was ok but not great, roast potatoes were very dry & carrots were very salty

I have eaten at La Benaix several times and have never been disappointed. All aspects of Covid 19 recommendations were adhered to making the atmosphere comfortable and relaxed a, a very pleasant evening.

We have been here before and really enjoy the food and atmosphere and we weren’t disappointed this time,

The restaurant was very quiet but service was efficient and friendly, food was delicious and portion sizes were more generous than expected, so we would certainly come back.

Le Benaix is great for a special occasion : good service, excellent lighting and decor, reasonable value for money. Only minor grumble is that all our steaks were tough (although tasty).

Understand that the Menu is limited due to Covid, but the food on offer was to similar and all 4 of us struggled to choice a good main course.

For a French Restaurant there was little French Style food on the menu. The French onions soup which you would expect to be of good quality was very very average and in fact I've had better out of a tin.

When asked if they was chilly in the food which I have to avoid due an allergy, was horrify to find out the vegetable were cooked in a chilly oil and was luckily advice by my friend that to not to eat , as she added ordered the same vegetable dish.

An apology was made but we still had to pay for the unedible dish.
All in all not a great experience there and we would not be returning.

Another very good meal at Le Benaix. Last time we went it was the first night after Covid reopening which was also good but this time it felt a bit more like it used to. A bit more relaxed although Covid precautions were certainly in place. It was busy with diners so we can't be the only ones that like it!

The chips were missing from a meal and so our friend had to wait and we could not finish at the same time. This was a large let down hence the lower score for food

Always outstanding service and delicious food. Look forward to our next visit.
