Our guested commented that his starter of quail was the best he had EVER tasted and he is a regular “fine diner”! No complaints at all about the food, drinks or service, excellent as always.
First time at La Benaix and was so impressed with the food, wine and service. We will definitely return.
Really impressed with our first visit to this restaurant. Lovely decor and ambience. Staff very attentive and helpful. Two of us went fixed price which they thought was amazing value and very tasty, well cooked food, other two went a la carte which was just amazing food. We all enjoyed every mouthful of the three courses and will definitely be returning as soon as we can !!
Everything was perfect except the Calypso coffe. This was only Luke warm. Otherwise a brilliant meal with no other complaints at all.
Starter was sent back as so dry it couldn’t be eaten, main meal was ok.. but was overcharged by £40 (was returned when complained the next day) if you do visit, keep and check your receipt!
We have spoken about visiting the restaurant on numerous occasions Now we’ve visited, we will definately be back. Great food, excellent service and nice surroundings.
We choose an early dinner, to include our 7yrs granddaughter who enjoyed exploring the gardens and looking at the statues.
With am extensive list of specialist gins, I’d like to work my way through the list!
We sat in garden which was beautiful.
Service was good
Shame open table doesn't let you booked for afternoon tea (you need to phone restaurant) .
On whole great lunch time treat
A fantastic restaurant with great chefs and brilliant stall, thoroughly recommend this.
Struggled to find a venue that did fine dining and allowed a 10 year old sitting. Staff were amazing. Starters and desserts amazing. Mains were mediocre
Great service, excellent food, ambiance very good. Excellent to enjoy a drink in the garden before eating.
I do question whether the price of the food, whilst excellent, is perhaps a little expensive compared to a year ago.
We chose the midweek 2 course set meal, an excellent choice of 4 starters and 4 main meals, excellent.
This could have been a 4 star review. However, the two clumsy waiters who spilled boiling hot water down my wifes arm and food down my fathers shirt spoiled the experience for us. Furthermore, those of us who had rib of beef (Sunday menu) all agreed that it was far too fatty (even for rib) and the complete lack of a children’s menu (even garlic bread as a starter would have worked) made us unlikely to return again with our children.
We were given vouchers to visit restaurant 7.45 virtually empty. Got drinks menu quickly but waited ages for menu. Ordered chateaubriand medium well, soo bloody I had to return mine which they were good about. There was no personal touches the place seemed cold and no ambiance even when started to fill. Interior lovely lovely place but definetly lacking in something. A shame we didn't stay for dessert.
A very relaxed and pleasing experience . The food was simple but of good quality beautifully cooked
Excellent Sunday lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. Good drinks menu. Slightly more expensive than a normal Sunday pub lunch but well worth it I thought.
Enjoyable pre-lunch drink in the gardens.
Excellent service and food.
Nice touch having magician to entertain (Sunday) individual tables.
Went for Sunday lunch. Really friendly service and our food was good - particularly the roast. Prawn starter delicious. Gluten free toast was provided but it would be really good to be offered rolls that can be baked as they are so much nicer.
Brasserie Le Benaix is a must for any special occasion; service, ambience, food, wine all faultless. High class dining. Highly recommend.
Utterly amazing could not fault the meal at all and staff was amazing wonderful time
The overall experience was good, the staff are polite and attentive and the food was nice. However we did wait a little bit longer than expected for our main meal and when it came out it had no vegetables. This was the set menu so we were partly to blame for this mishap as we just expected vegetables but also the menu could have been a bit clearer. The prices are a bit steep for what it was but I think if we ate from the normal menu our experience would have been a better one.
Very good lunch with friends have already recommended to others.
This was our second visit within the past two weeks for Afternoon Tea, and we enjoyed it so much on our previous visit, that we decided to bring along our friends, this time, to enjoy it with us, and they were not disappointed.
The selection of food was varied, tasty and plentiful.
The service was both friendly and professional, as usual.
We look forward to each and every visit, and are looking forward to the next time, which is later this week.
Thank you for making us feel so special every time we dine here.
We love love loved the food, service was better than we have ever experienced.
What an amazing venue, beautifully clean toilets, very up market.
Only problem is i would love to eat there every day, sadly can not afford to do that.
If you are looking for some where special with excellent food and service then look no further you will be delighted.
Very welcoming with quietly efficient, friendly staff in comfortable surroundings. Although not an issue, we felt the meal was reasonably expensive related to the overall quality of the dishes. Did not expect to be charged £4 for water which is normally complimentary.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The meal faultless from start to finish. Attentive but not overbearing staff and nigh on Michelin quality food made this a night to remember.
Special Sunday lunch . A great modern take on a traditional meal.
We booked Le Benaix as a celebration of our wedding anniversary. The food was lovely, well presented with some interesting combinations for different tastes. There is a good wine list and the staff are attentive but not interfering. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant.
Was let down on a special occasion with this meal. High prices, average food, not great seating (unless you know to ask specifically for a window seat) and slow bar service when you arrive.
Prices were the same as Alec’s but no where near the standard of food or service.
The only positive was the waiters who were apologetic, sympathetic and friendly.
I booked online and requested a romantic table, with a view if possible, as it was birthday/anniversary... and they certainly did! A lovely view overlooking the garden and a quiet romantic table. The restaurant were very accommodating, and welcoming... a wonderful ambiance, fantastic food and we had a very special evening... we’re planning our next occasion. Thank you to all!
We were given a table in the orangery, fairy lights and foliage in the large skylight gave alovely ambiance as the sky turned dark. Not been in there before. Waiter was attentive, food was delicious. Spacious eating area, not crowded next to other diners. We like this restaurant, it's not cheap but you get what you pay for. This was our 4th or 5th visit. We will be back.
We frequent this restaurant regularly and for numerous special occasions. We have always found the food and staff to be excellent, courteous and professional.
Excellent meal, service second to none & great ambience.
Very enjoyable food excellent staff very nice . Been back many times on different days in the week haven't been disappointed yet.
Great late Sunday afternoon lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Extensive menu catering to all tastes. Loved the chicken Caesar croquet - totally unique. Service excellent and wine menu very comprehensive. Great for small or large parties
I had the Roast Rib Eye of Beef for Sunday lunch. It was thin, stringy and fatty! I was so disappointed as was really looking forward to it. We had a drink at the bar and were asked for our orders and had only been sitting for 10 mins and the meal arrived. We hadn’t even received the sparkling water and other drinks we had ordered. They came eventually but no sign of the water. It has been added to the bill though so had them take it off but no sorry for not bringing it. Won be returning :(
Have been here on maybe 5 or 6 occasions, the service and food have always been excellent
We live within 2 miles of Le Benaix and I have eaten there around 7 or 8 times since it opened a couple of years ago. The food ( when it finally arrives) is first class. The ambience is also very good and the car parking safe, secure, well cared for and it is easy to find a space for a nice car. However the service has been consistently slow. We ate there again on Friday evening 27th April with a table booked a good few days in advance for 8:00pm. It took until 8:45pm before any food arrived and that was just the bread which we had to ask for. The management need to get the message and act upon reviews such as mine as at these prices the lack lustre service is badly letting this establishment down.
I booked this on line for my husbands birthday surprise, which was very easy.
The staff were extremely pleasant and efficient, particularly Ella who served us and advised us on the selection of wines. The food was first class in both presentation, and taste.
The dessert was served on a slate that had been decorated with birthday wishes as a personal touch and much appreciated. The two courses for £19.95 was very reasonable. we will certainly go back again and have already recommended Le Benaix to several friends
Third time here. Service is very good. Food really nice. Fixed price menu is good value but drinks prices are high so beware of that.
Four of us had Sunday lunch together great food and value for money , magician was excellent
