On a very nasty winter weather evening, Brasserie Liberte is the best place to shelter. Fantastic food and service; greatly appreciate their going the extra mile to insure a pleasant respite.
We had the best service and wonderful food! The escargot was some of the best I’ve ever had! Service was impeccable. The staff was very attentive and everyone helped out. Would definitely add this to our list of DC favorites.
So delicious! My husband and I are here for the weekend and "discovered" this place Friday... And came back for dinner Saturday also! I had been craving cassoulet, but I hate making it. Theirs was so beautifully balanced! Everything we are the was just outstanding.
First timer and I loved everything! Food is absolutely delicious. Staff are very pleasant. I was truly impressed and will be back!!

Took my boyfriend here for a birthday brunch and he had an amazing time. It’s beautiful inside and the service is wonderful.
I truly wanted to like this place, a cute little restaurant great atmosphere! Here’s where my dilemma begins. We were welcomed by the hostess an older woman. When I reserved I made a request for a booth granted that’s what we received. The hostess sat us in the booth. Unfortunately the booth was a half circle booth and was really small. I felt really crammed into the small booth it was utterly uncomfortable. I later asked the server if we could move into a different location. The server went to go find the hostess to inform her. This is where It all goes down hill for my experience here, the hostess comes back with a nasty attitude and I told her the situation and she sees how uncomfortable the booth was. She proceeds to tell me this is what you requested. I told her I understood but the booth was too small and was restricting. So she annoyingly ended up taking us to another location. Whilst doing so I had to carry the menus and my belonging to the next location, only to find out that the placement was worse than the booth. She places us in a location customers on both sides again feeling crammed. This place lacks social distancing in the midst of a peek in Covid, not only that the customer service from the hostess was subpar. I didn’t even have a chance to look over the menu because of how appalled I was from the customer service I received.
Food is not French and it is not very good. Beef borginon was dry and with a strong sauce, not the same borgignon I had in Paris. The chicken was blend and taste less.
Disappointed because the server was nice and did the best to make us happy.
The food was amazing! The service was impeccable and the space was lovely. The 3 Course Pre Fix meal was great and had different options for everyone.

The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food is good and flavorful. We had escargot, French onion soup and branzino. Our server,Justine, was very attentive and kind. We had ordered something that we didn’t care for and she immediately offered to replace it with whatever we wanted. Cocktails were good too!!
I was transported back to Paris upon entering this restaurant. The ambiance is perfect! The level of service is impeccable. The food was divine. In all the years of eating moules frites, I’ve never had them where every single one was good to eat: no unopened mussels, no cracked shells, no grit. I could eat these every day!

Outstanding food and atmosphere! We had the brandade and the beet carpaccio for starters, then the boeuf bourguignon and truite amandine for our plats. For dessert, we had the chocolate pit de crème and coffee.

We were seated in a private corner, which was lovely. However, we were never greeted or offered water by a server or member of their support staff. At one point a server, who made eye contact with us at least 3 times, shouted that someone would be right with us as they passed (never stopped, didn't offer water or to get the manager in the meantime). We sat for nearly 10 minutes after that, probably 15 minutes total and decided to leave. It wasn't anything personal, but if that server couldn't let someone know we were waiting, then they were too busy and it didn't seem worth it. Kinda bummed because it was my boyfriend's birthday. We've both worked in the service industry, so we get it. But I would have been embarrassed if this was my table.

Brasserie Liberté is way overhyped, in my opinion. The food was nothing special, especially considering the cost. The holiday decor was nice and the restaurant had a nice setting. The service wasn't that great, as our waiter barely spoke, had no recommendations, and didn't answer any of our questions. My order was undercooked and he basically shrugged his shoulders and walked off.
Pretty excellent experience on Christmas Day dinner: great atmosphere and service complimented by good quality bistro fare.
Went there for dinner, food was 1 out of 5z sever Datt was great. 5 out 5 service. But unfortunately will not be going back.
Fantastic Christmas dinner - great food, great service
Being open for dinner on Christmas Day must be challenging for any restaurant and that was certainly the case here. Pre dinner drinks at the bar were uninspiring and the actual dinner service was haphazard. In spite of these issues, the kitchen produced an excellent meal. Cassoulet, trout almandine and a pasta dish were all excellent and worked wonders to make any other issues fade away. The chocolate mousse cake was the topper that made the evening perfect; warts and all. We’re looking forward to our next visit.
Me and my family were in town and made reservations to have Christmas dinner here. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is amazing. It is an inviting and relax atmosphere. The decor is very cute, stylish, and unique. The food was really good. I had the duck, which was cooked perfectly. What stood out to me was our server.
Justine our server was amazing, especially with the kids in our group. One of the children in our party is on the spectrum. She noticed that he was having a hard time and was very patient with him. She called him by his name (we never told her his name), talked to him on his level (kneeling to his level), and would directly ask him if everything was okay for him. By the end of the night he stated that he had a new friend and was happy that she spoke with him. If I ever visit DC again, I would eat here.

Not great for the price -- felt like a factory rather than the ambient charming brasserie it purports to be. The place is just too big when it comes to things such as quality control/turnover. The food was very uneven -- in Paris this place would last not more than a month. The pot de creme was way too dense and the French fries were drastically overcooked/dry -- if you get em wrong throw them out and start over but don't insult us... however, the restaurant was way busy and perhaps it was an off period re. quality control. Salmon was superb but the boeuf bourguignon was very overcooked/left in too long/reheated etc. While the flavor was satisfying, the meat was not tender and more dried out.. Mussels were good and the butternut squash soup was excellent. Wine by the glass portions were pathetic and worthless re quantity -- to the point that I felt insulted. The main dining area is charming but overall I can do much better elsewhere.
Went on Christmas Day and appreciated that they were open. Despite the holiday and a crowd, service was friendly and prompt. Onion soup and butternut squash soup starters were terrific as was the Mediterranean Sea bass with a creative curry sauce. Beef Bourgignon was also very good though maybe a little dry. Bread was also terrific. Overall very good and fairly priced. Also beautiful room.
I was very happy with Brasserie being open on Christmas day, the place looked beautiful with a very nice Christmas decoration. Ample staff member (which is a challenge on holidays and with omicron). The problem was the food, no Christmas specials? Escargot was good, coq au vin was raw, still bleeding. Boeuf bourgignon was dry and salty. I was really expecting buche de Noel for dessert in a French restaurant but they did not have it so I just skip dessert.
At the end I left disappointed and won’t go back.
I took my grandma here for Christmas and it was amazing. We tried several things on the menu. I recommend that Shrimp au Gratin as the Les Hors D'oeuvres and the Boeuf Bourguignon as the entree. The French Onion Soup was also good. The atmosphere was classy yet lively and they did a great job decorating for the season. It was an excellent choice.
Apps and entrees all came out at the same time. Service was a little slow but understandable
It was lovely to sit outside in the terrace and the food was very good….always enjoy visits to brasserie.
