Brasserie of Light
Just love it here. Fabulous decor, great service and imaginative food - that tastes delicious. Stand out starters were tuna carpaccio, spicy fried shrimp, tuna and wasabi tacos - altho they were all great. Then from the mains, I had the blackened cod with wasabi ... served and ate beautifully. But it was clean plates all round! For dessert, the Orbiz ... or Orbitz ... looked stunning and again tasted great. Love that the food is so stylish - but not at the expense of flavour. Will be back ... again!
Fab decor and amazing toilets. Menu was great.
Service let it down dramatically - we order a drink and. Olives pre meal and olives never came apparently as my fiend had a PIne Nut allergy !!! Weird
Black Cod and the orbit pudding would defo recommend
House red wine was lovely
Love this Place, and never Disappoints!!!!
Beautiful Space and Great Atmosphere.
the design is great, the chairs are comfortable, the room is very well designed.
the lobster linguini was tasteless, with no tomatoes and hardly any lobster.
the sole goujons were over fried.
the champagne was warm.
the desserts look amazing but taste awful.
the food seriously lets the place down.
Steak not good over cooked bitter outside skin. Neither lobster spaghetti, tasteless. Main course bit expensive. Very cool restaurant decoration. Dessert and cocktails very nice.
Great food, great service
Lovely restaurant with very attentive and friendly service. Food was delicious and presentation of our dessert was beautiful! We went late in the evening and I found this to be the perfect time to go as it was more quiet you could actually hear the music and have a decent chat. Will be back!
The worst hostess ever , they damaged my hat when I gave them my hat to put it at the clerk room and trying to blaming me for it !!!!!!!!!
Great food great staff
Not the best time I’ve had there !
Some of the staff came across a bit rude .
But still a lovely restaurant 👍🏼
Lovely atmosphere. Bustling Saturday afternoon lunches and or brunches. Food was good. However food was Luke warm. Not hot coming out as you’d expect.
One meal had to be returned as was simply too cold. And we ploughed through the rest as we were so hungry!
Slight downer. But overall good and would come back again
Went for lunch with family. Food quite good but with some disappointments.. Muffin of eggs Benedict was stale. Leaves of rocket and parmesan salad were wilted. Food, though generally good is far too expensive for what it is. Crab starter for close to £18 was enough to feed a small cat not a human.
Waiter forgot aforementioned salad order. Had to chase.
Space nice and airy but atmosphere ruined with too loud Eurotrash dance music playing in all corners. If I wanted to feel like I was having lunch in Ibiza I’d have gone to a bar in Camden Market. When I asked if it was possible to turn the music down they said it was their policy to have it loud.
Staff nice but seemed distracted and a bit stressed.
It feels like it should be a more elegant affair (which is what I was expecting following reviews) but our experience was somehow dragged down by these things and a feeling that this is an upmarket canteen / bar for wealthy Selfridges shoppers rather than an uplifting restaurant experience.
On the plus side chips both sweet potato and normal variety were delicious.
I’d come again at a push if hungry and happen to be in the building but won’t go out of my way again. Maybe dinner is a better experience.
We had a wonderful meal here last Friday with our three children in the early evening. The service was good and very friendly with a nice choice of dishes and something for everyone. It is quite expensive but lovely for a special occasion. The interior or the restaurant is gorgeous and the mirrored bathrooms are fabulous!
I've been a few times now and have 2 recommendations:
1. Thursday evening at the bar is great, with friendly local people.
2. The ladies loos are wonderfully decorated with full length bevelled mirrors on every wall, creating beautiful light and infinitive reflections.
The food is good but not amazing. The service is professional and friendly. The Hirst Pegasus sculpture is OTT and super fun.
Consistently good food, nice vibe and great cocktails. Please don’t change 🙏🏼
Lovely atmosphere, very nice friendly polite staff. Good food.
First time we’ve been there and it was really good ... pleased we went on a Monday as it was not insanely busy or noisy ... had a drink at the bar afterwards and will definitely go back ! Great place
I have been to the Brassiere several times lunch and dinner , in general it is very good , excellent service and a lovely ambiance in addition to a well tailored specific yet diverse menus that I enjoyed most of it ,my only two remarks are: Rib-eye stake should be of a better quality for the listed price, the tables are tightly netted for a two gust table even for a normal built person, I like the restaurant and I highly recommend it and I intend to visit it again .
Good, interesting food, attentive service, over the top environment but the music was way, way too loud for conversation to be comfortable.
Great food and service! Definite visit!
Popcorn shrimp was delicious! Very glam surroundings and although it felt special, the vibe was also relaxed. Great service and lovely food.
Great food and DJ! It was our waiters first ever shift and he was amazing!
Buzzy and lively - perfect for dining alone!
The space is as spectacular as the photos show. Much of the evening matched that, but not all. Most of the food was both interesting and good. A burger was served very well done, without warning - I would have ordered something else if I'd known. But the chips illustrated the quality of the rest - they were fresh and crisp and made from potatoes that tasted like potatoes.
Service was more miss than hit, including the non-appearance of a round of drinks ordered half way through our meal. This was probably something specific to our area of the restaurant. We tried to cancel that order, but they were brought to us "on the house" - so ultimately a good recovery.
It was much noisier than expected, because of the unheralded presence of a DJ. It would have been good to have had this flagged in advance, as we might have come instead on a non-DJ evening. We won't be back on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, but we think we will be back some other time.
We had the open Halloumi sandwich and it was very good with Earl Grey tea
This is a lovely restaurant. Though inside Selfridges it doesn’t feel like an after thought at all. The art decor is gorgeous, spacious and glamorous. The food is similar to Ivy Brasserie, it’s owned by the same company. The choice of dishes is good, something for everyone. Cocktails very nice bonus too.
Honestly can’t fault Brasserie of Light. Stunning interiors. Superb dining. Every course was perfectly cooked, imaginative and delicious. Lots of options for fish lovers too! Loved the DJ and the views and the toilets are pretty. The service is also excellent. It’s a shame there aren’t more local Londoners however- feels like the crowd is mainly tourists/transient. My friends ( Londoners) had not heard of it until I suggested it. I’ll definitely be back!!
I love this place. Whenever I take a trip to London I ensure I dine here. I always recommend it too. It’s fabulous!
There was an issue with my main course, it was dealt with impeccably could not have ask for more. Great staff food and service
Always an amazing dinner
very noisy especially with the thumping music playing as well but you can overcome that with the great food ! Service was a little slow as the people who sat down next to us at least 10 mins after us got served and feed before us ! Would still go back again and again !
Fun place to go.
Good service and okay food.
Not sure I ll classify Selfridges has a destination for food, but Brasserie of Light has a separate entrance to the shop, big windows, big horsy above your head, it looks and feel cool, the food was actually pretty good, the music very loud, but guess what I would happily go back!
We were there for a birthday party and while the food and service was great, there was a dj playing very very loud music and we could hardly hear each other speak!
It was too cold! We asked them to do something about it, people from other tables also mentioned it to them but they didn't do anything to turn down the air con.
Lovely dinning experience!
My nephew was visiting from the USA and whilst in town we wanted somewhere nice to eat, since we have dined with you before and needed to visit Selfridges TBOL seemed the perfect choice. We had a nice meal with great service 😀
very nice food and environment
Nice ambience. Nice view. Limited choice of plates. Small servings. A bit noisy but would recommend it for lunch
