Brasserie of Light
Amazing!! Love this place xxx the staff are great and the ambience is special. Good for celebrating @
Nice atmosphere and food, however the staff need to be polite.
The service was very slow, we didn't find out till we got the there we only had the table for 1hour 30mins ,
as the service was slow we didn't have time foe desert .. we have been there on a few occasions and was a little disappointed this time as it was my Birthday
No service whatsoever, bartenders busy doing a stock take, hostesses with no compassion and waiters totally oblivious. Food and ambience is always great but the rest becomes unforgiving
Second time here and would highly recommend. Food is very good, its a step above other gastro pub fare and close to fine dining for the price. Portions are also decent and desserts are excellent - try the Orbit for a bit of everything on one plate. Don't bother with the cheese board though, only disappointment.
Atmosphere is lovely, bustling and cosy at the same time with a good view over Oxford Street and drinks are reasonable as well for the location. Definitely try it, much better than your normal department store restaurant.
Ate here before and the food was fab, unfortunately this time was a different experience. Overcooked food. Cold chips, cold broccoli. Rude and surly server. Wish we had dined elsewhere.
The service was absolutely shocking from the moment we arrived. It really let the place down.
It’s such a shame because I’ve previously visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed.
In terms of the food and value for money no complaints.
Just goes to show how important service is just ruined the whole experience.
We overall had a lovely experience. We over stayed our table time and we were moved to a new table that was free however we were quickly given our bill without asking for it which made us feel pushed out. We even explained before hand we would like to be moved to the bar but this wasn’t offered.
I took myself to lunch , dressed up and all.
I’ve never seen the nicest staff in my life, they recommended the most delicious cocktails I’ve ever tasted.
The food OMG was just delicious especially the black cod, truffle mash etc everything I ordered was worth every penny I spent.
I booked a table for 11:15pm arrived 10 minutes early at 11:15 We asked to give us our table they said your table is not ready yet even when I have booked a table few days ago for that time to have a breakfast with my family so waited for 15 min and at 11:30 they gave us a table and took 15min that someone to come and take our orders and they gave us lunch menu when I told the waiter that we are here to have breakfast he said oh we just served breakfast till 11:30 .I told him it was your fault not us because we arrived even early he said sorry I can’t do anything.I was so angry but didn’t want to ruin our day out I said ok.so by force we ordered from lunch menu. The food was good but the service was really crap.
Amazing as always
Once we arrived the male hostess was extremely rude, made us wait for a table and gave us a table in the back room which didn’t have as much ambience as the rest of the restaurant.
The food was good, lobster spaghetti lacked lobster but the chicken Milanese and chocolate orbit dessert were delicious. Cocktail was average and overly sweet. Overall it was a nice time but tainted by the initial rudeness of the male host.
Great ambiance. Would recommend breakfast menu and affordable price.
We waited for 10 minutes while our table was being prepared which was the only negative of the evening. We had the salted sourdough which was delicious and duck curry and aubergine which were 10/10! We will be back.
Family day out with lunch at the Brasserie of Light. Perfect! Staff were very accommodating & flexible to get food which excited my daughter who has a narrow set of food she likes.
Chicken Milanese wasn’t cooked so returned with a speedy replacement and much apologising
The food was as usual nice
The service was poor, with an unacceptable bad attitude from the waiter
Amazing, solid 9/10 restuarant. Great staff and aesthetics.
Lovely breakfast in a prefect setting. Staff lovely and friendly. Good value.
If you love a destination restaurant and bar offering all day dining in a chic, Art Deco space set within Selfridges department store, Brasserie of Light is your place to be! If you love 1920s, and exceptional food, beverage and dessert - don't hesitate to book your table so long there are any available.
The decor is amazing
The food was lovely
Staff and service was excellent
I had booked a table as it was my partners Birthday. And we had left it late to plan something. I had mentioned it was his Birthday and we had a lovely table overlooking Duke Street.
The staff were amazing, the food was absolutely delicious. We definitely will be going back again.
Thank you for a lovely evening.
Great food and service.
Amazing as always. Love it here !!
Food is superb would definitely recommended !!
Birthday dinner was excellent ! Lovely food lovely service!
Very good experience.! Great food and service as usual.
We had such a great experience and great value. Would recommend
Our table wasn’t ready and we were rushed through our meal when we finally got tonit to beat the 10pm curfew. Waiting in the bar area there was no social distancing and felt distinctly unsafe. Food is imaginative and well presented and the restaurant is buzzy but very noisy. Would not go back.
Food is good but not amazing, but the vibe is really good.
The waiter almost overcharged us and very shocked as we gave him a tip and this was something he didn’t check properly for such a high profile restaurant until I pointed it out.
My friend and I ordered two steaks medium rare. Mine was medium well and when I complained and compared with my friends. I was asked to repeatedly cut into my steak and argued with that it was indeed rare when it was clearly well done. I chuck it up to Covid Chaos!
One of my best dining experience in London so far, outstanding service, great ambience, superb location and food is the main reason you'll want to their a second time again. Highly recommend their duck dish from the mains and don't skip desserts! Loved it! Thanks Brasserie of light for making our day so special. Cannot wait to visit soon again 🧡💫
It’s a gorgeous place and I’ve never had a bad meal although the truffle risotto was not my favorite. Anytime I’m near Oxford Street I love meeting here for lunch!
Don’t miss the tuna tacos!
Lovely meal although the main course was very small!
Great food, swift service, felt really covid safe... Simply Perfect!
Great atmosphere combined with good food and excellent service makes for an excellent dining experience. I celebrated my birthday here with my family and we all loved it.
It is not overpriced as one may assume but just right for the more discerning diner. A lovely bar seating area adds to a very New York vibe.
Most of the tables have screens between them as part of their covid adjustments.
All in all, I would highly recommend dining here and a great Instagram photo location too!
We were running 10 min late, the staff made no fuss over it and escorted us to our ready table. Gave us enough time to order and let us know when the kitchen was closing. Starters came out extremely fast. There’s hand sanitizer spray on the table as well as dividers between tables. All staff wearing masks. Can’t really take pics in the bathroom due to covid (there was a staff member checking) & you had to wear facemask into the restaurant. Food was very filling we got a bottle of rose to share. It was my friends birthday so they brought out a small dessert for her with a candle and was lovely. Around 9.30 you have to pay and kitchen closes. Overall really lovely staff, atmosphere and food. I really had a great night!
