We expected, from a restaurant with Gordon Ramsay's name in its title, a bit nicer food than the one we were served. We ordered the starter Haggis bon bons, that I can say was one of the worst haggis I ever had. The texture was way too smooth and pasty, it felt like I am eating a patte, the rice was completely mashed and all the ingredients became one mash. The taste was very blunt. We ordered as main courses: Gordon Ramsay's Fish and chips. It was alright, nothing special just your plain old fish and chips, no different from any round the corner fish shop. Roasted cod. This one we can say was very good and it felt more special, only one small point, maybe a sliced lemon in the plate would be nice. Grilled seabass. The taste of it was decent, the sauce was very nice, maybe a tiny bit salty. The problem with this dish was the presentation. My girlfriend (Amrita) is a big lover of fish and she would mainly eat fish meals in a restaurant. She got scared by the way this thing looked, the way it was opened in the midle and spread out on the plate. Maybe just debone it and fold it back again, or slice it completely in half and place the two peaces in the plate would have been better. The exact words were "This thing looks like a dead cat, not a seabass". The prices for the meals do not match the quality at all. The service was excellent, atmosphere as well. thank you Alexandar Hristov

Jason was amazing and gave excellent recommendations for food and places to visit while in Edinburg. Food was good as described and the rest of the staff was attentive to our needs.

All I can say is “yum”. Due to some kitchen issues they were on a 3 course fixed price menu. Made it easy to order and options were fantastic. Wonderful service. We’ve always wanted to eat at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant and we were not disappointed.

Food was good quality, warm and served quickly from point of ordering. The staff were very friendly and attentive - we were a party of 5 who didn’t arrive together. As soon as somebody arrived, their complimentary glass of Prosecco as part of the Itison offer was brought to the table. No need for us to ask / chase, which was appreciated.

The Sunday Lunch was very good but the drinks were not great value for money - a bottle of Malbec was £57.

Had dinner for 2, had the haggis Bon Bon’s for starter which was a pleasant starter, first time trying haggis. For main I had the fish and chips. Both the fish and chips were very greasy. Partner had the burger which they enjoyed. Would probably visit again however I would order a different main course.

Booked the Beef Weelington experience. Overall I would say it didn't meet meat expectations, on arrival no one even acknowledged the fact we're were there and waited for someone to come forward. We were shown to a tiny round table for two , which became evident wasn't big enough to comfortably hold food , drinks etc . Whilst the food was very well presented , everything lacked seasoning and flavour. The jus served with the meat was tasteless, runny and lacked any shine , the meat itself while perfectly cooked fell short on flavour. The desserts , sticky toffee pudding was ok, chocolate Fondant was dry and had none of the flavoursome sauce inside one would expect , the ice creams were delicious and the black cherry dessert again was deliciously creamy and rich. The drinks were very good , apart from the wine , perhaps the wrong choice but one of the worst saivignon blancs I had tasted in a long time , which we didn't drink . We wernt asked if we wished to taste the wine it was just poured and we had to ask for an ice bucket . The most positive thing was our server , he was exceptional , with a total spend of £400 for two people this fell way short of a good experience. Would I return ? For a burger at lunch time perhaps , for an experience no . It was all just ok , nothing really bad but certainly nothing really good

What a disappointment, went for the Sunday roast and had to leave half on my plate. Ordered the Spicy Tuna Tartar to start, was nice but not spicy, the haggis bon Bon’s were really nice. The came out the roast, the meat was super fatty and tasteless, the gravy was like water, the Yorkshire pudding was like a sponge and the potatoes raw. Had to send it back to the kitchen. The second meal came out and again wasn’t anything wow. Really disappointed. The girl who was serving us was lovely and very apologetic.

We had the beef wellington experience and was amazing food. Oli was our waitor and really friendly and helpful. Knew the menu choices well. He also made recommendations which helped. There was a time limit to table but this wasn’t enforced which made it better to sit and enjoy the food.
