Dad visiting London. Beef Wellington was fantastic! Cocktails tasty, location great... no complaints! Great dining experience

Went there for my birthday dinner. Unfortunately didn’t have a good experience. Firstly they forgot our order. So after the starters we were left for minimum 45 min waiting for the mains. After we checked in they rushed the food and fries were not cooked properly and meat was not as ordered. However, I appreciate they gave us free dessert and offered to change the mains.

Menu does not have that much variety and is overpriced, £21 for fish and chips and £48 for a bottle of wine, nothing special! Service was poor so we decided not to pay the service charge of £32 and said we would tip in cash, after the waitress took the payment from our cards and realising that we weren’t paying the service charge, even though we explained what we were doing, she said “and the rest?” So explained to her again but after that decided not to leave a tip. Don’t understand how a restaurant that charges such high prices for basic food then thinks it’s okay to charge 15% service charge when there was no real service, they should be paying and training their staff better.

I'm a big fan if BSK and have been a fair few times and have never been disappointed by the food or service. My slight gripe, and it was a guest of mine who pointed it out, is the room is very 'live' acoustically due to the hard surfaces, and it can be difficult to talk and hear. Other than that, it is fine and dandy

Banging music when entering - the host was not able to hear me. Walked up stairs to the restaurant which was nearly as loud with thumping music. Ask the manager to turn down the music which he duly ignored and then changed subject. The food was ok, but not exceptional. Left quickly to get away from the noise. Ruined the night. If this is supposed to be a good restaurant where people talk and have dinner, then why are they ruining it for diners ???

Duck was almost raw. The staff did not ask us why we left the food - or if we enjoyed the meal 0/10 on service there

Birthday dinner did not disappoint. Everything was outstanding! Potted meat, pepper flatbread, pork belly and incredible duck entree. A true gem. I bet breakfast is outstanding too!

Nice space but very ordinary food. The California Rolls fell apart, the Wagu burger was so finely ground it was like paste & totally lacking in texture. Triple cooked chips were hard and dry. My companion said roast Cod was excellent tho
Service was very friendly & efficient but main course arrived before starter had been cleared
£160 for two (no dessert, one bottle of wine £40) was extortionate

Food was average eg. Vegan risotto was very salty, not just my taste as my friend thought the same. Also, the service wasn't great - had to ask for things twice and wait rather long for simple things like extra butter. Ambience wise the place is lovely, shame about the food and service - definitely felt overpriced...

Went for brunch and I had the full English with extra bacon (as recommended by staff) and avocado on the side... the breakfast was meh... it only had one sausage, so that's what I would have had extra of as there was plenty of bacon. The avocado was unripe and I could only eat a small amount of it.

It's very busy and noisy, a good atmosphere for a larger group I would say. The service is good, but a bit sullen and the food took quite a long time to arrive. Other members of the group had cocktails, which they enjoyed very much! The Sunday roast as ordered by my wife looked very good indeed and she enjoyed it. I've had good food here before, but I probably won't rush back, it's expensive for food you'd find in many pubs cheaper and better quality.

Third visit so have enjoyed in the past. This time: not so good I’m afraid. Service was pleasant but soooo slow. Took over 3 hours to get to the end of the meal. Had pork belly which was delicious but another in the party had lamb chops which were fatty and yuck. He didn’t send them back because it was so long coming for one and it wasn’t worth spoiling a good chat with friends. However he said it was as if they’d whipped a couple of value chops off the shelf at Tesco. At £80 a head (and half of us didn’t have a pudding), I expect quicker service and unfailingly good food. Shame because I liked this place - not sure I’d go back now.

I have always enjoyed eating here. Sunday lunches have been pleasant in the past. I would not visit again on a Sunday because the emphasis is on entertaining children rather than providing a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We had to wait over fifteen minutes for our pre-booked table with no apology and the usually excellent service was lacklustre at best. The food did not seem up to usual standards which was disappointing.

I’ve eating here a half dozen times and this is the first time that I’d say I probably won’t return, for awhile anyway. The server was just not good. I don’t really want to go into details here because it will sound mean spirited but she should probably have trained somewhere else. She was not ready for this.
Food was reliably good. Wine was good but expensive and I just don’t get why they want to charge for bread (I mean the name would have you assume that it’s part of the deal!)

UK Liverpool expats visiting again from Chicago we were so keen to duplicate our amazing first visit last trip that we booked for our first night down from the North. The review overall probably should be 3 1/2 to 4 but I left it at 3 so Gordon can spot it :)

The main failing was lack of expected service. A case of where a 12.5% compulsory service charge did not work and motivate the server. Our waiter disappeared out of sight often, and when back front of shop, we had to go to great lengths to attract his attention even when he was serving adjacent tables.

Crazy thing was, that most of the time it was to order extra food or alcohol, so our bill could have been higher and to his advantage.

Latterly we asked another guy who appeared to be his senior to send out our waiter so we could order desert.

In short, with pound to dollar exchange we paid an overall $ tip five times more than a high end diner in Chicago for 1/5 the service.

Food on the whole was excellent. The one miss step from our party of four was my pork chop which was over cooked and slightly dry which takes an amazing dish to hard work

Overall it was an enjoyable visit, we are spoiled with the places we eat at and were therefore disappointed that out prior 5 star all aspects trip couldn’t be duplicated .

I can only say that the restaurant is well thought out.. its focused on the clients and the attention to detail is great. The staff are attentive, friendly and professional and let you enjoy the meal. I went with our 4yr old, she is an experienced diner and had a great time. I would say that the beef wellington, which is a sharing dish, was just amazing... the best I have ever had, incredible. The place was sooooo good we are going back for lunch today (2 days later).

Lovely brunch in a nice setting with friendly and attentive staff. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the coffee was good. Only negative is that the food could have been a little hotter, by the time all 6 breakfasts had reached the table and we started eating mine was barely warm.

The food is good but improvements could be made. My lamb cutlets were extremely fatty and they could have trimmed the fat more as no one is really going to eat an inch thick of pure fat. The macaroons for dessert were ok but definitely far from the best ones I’ve ever had. In addition service was lacking. Understaffed and waiters covering too many tables.

Good points: cocktails and ambience

Unfortunatley the food was not up to scratch. The roast dinner was essentially cold. The gravy was delicious, and the whipped horseradish likewise rescued an otherwise poor roast. They also had a jazz band playing SO LOUDLY that we could not speak together as a group. They turned the volume slightly down upon asking, but the management team should have noticed this was inappropriate.

We had a fantastic meal at the Bread Street Kitchen. The staff there were fantastic. Luke, the manager at the restaurant went above and beyond his duty to ensure that we had a brilliant evening. I haven't had this kind of service in a restaurant in London for quite a while. It really was a fantastic choice and this is down to the food, vibrancy and the fantastic staff at the restaurant. Thank you from the Bailey's XX
