About Breddos Soho
Breddos started out as a makeshift taco shack in a car park in Hackney back in 2011. Since then, we’ve gone on to do residencies and pop-ups, Street Feast, a cook book, as well as a cook-off at LA’s Tacolandia festival in 2016, before finding a permanent home for ourselves in Clerkenwell. Our food is influenced by the hundreds of roadside taquerias and restaurants we have encountered on our travels throughout America and Mexico, whilst utilising the best of British produce from passionate producers such as Phillp Warren and Son and Wild Harbour in Cornwall.

Breddos Soho Ratings and Reviews
Had a last lunch here with my husband before our baby arrives, and it was a great choice for adult-only dining. The food was spectacular - a couple of bits from the ‘snack’ menu, then a couple of tacos and one large plate was hugely filling for the pair of us. We’d highly recommend both the chicken tacos and the lamb neck.
Will be back!
The tastiest meal I have in a long time! So wonderful to find somewhere in central London where you can get genuinely great food. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the restaurant decor and atmosphere was warm and inviting. We had a table downstairs, which was significantly quieter than upstairs, which I was glad of, but if you're happier with music and chatter it wouldn't matter.
Popped in for a quick lunch having heard great things about it. Ordered grilled corn with cheese, guacamole with chips, fish tacos and fried chicken tacos. Everything was unbelievably flavourful and delicious! Easily the best tacos I have had in London. As good as I've had when compared to the Mexican food you get in the USA.
good but really noisy. we were a group of 3 and were sat on a long bar area so it was hard to talk to each other as we were far apart and the noise of the music / other diners made it hard to have a conversation. However, this also meant there was a lively atmosphere. Food was good.
I was very excited to try Breddos, as I had heard about it for a while and the menu looked great. We were seated downstairs, which is cosier and less noisy than lots of restaurants around there. It was a bit chilly, not sure why, but otherwise seating was nice, decoration is also of good taste and well made, everything cutlery and dishes wise is very nicely set and chosen. The service, as expected, was super friendly yet not intrusive and very efficient.
The meal in itself was great, creative and very tasty. My main issue is the ratio portion / price, but this affects a lot of restaurants around there. I absolutely agree with the rule of reducing portions and enjoy a real taste, but this is falls a bit short in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's REALLY good, but for four people for a casual meal, it would be £16 / pp with no drinks and we still felt a bit hungry (and we're not gloutons).
The food specifically was really well prepared and seasoned. As mentioned above, the Lamb taco was great, the half-poulp was EXCELLENT and the starters were very good as well (although I feel like the price / quantity / quality unbalance mostly affected the latest). All my friends really enjoyed their dishes as well, as pleasant to the eyes as to the palate. They should provide something to absorb and eat that poulp sauce, it's THAT good.
I would gladly come back, but i wouldn't mind revising the portions or prices a bit, even if, in the end, almost all the restaurants around this area abide by the same rules. And of course I prefer to pay the same price for this quality than for more food but not as great... The usual conundrum.
I still highly recommend it, also for the great atmosphere and the amazing staff.
I love Breddos but there are a few things that stop it from being 3 stars rather than 4. Firstly the guacamole is amazing however it comes with three tortilla chips. A top up of chips is £2 on top of the £7 you already paid.
Sames issue with the main. We had the the cauliflower which comes with 3 little wraps. Needless to say if you’re sharing you’d want 4 wraps. Again a request for a single extra bread and you’ll be charged 50p. Thirdly food arrives in such a fast pace that we had half of out dishes before we had our Margeritas.
Food is amazing but it’s everything around it which needs tweaking
We went on Wednesday, 3 friends for a catch up. Food was very good, as it has always been. Drinks also very good, though on the expensive side. But service was at best mediocre. They brought half our tacos until we reminded them half an hour later that we are still missing the other half of them. Once they brought the remaining tacos took 40' to bring the "main" courses. We were chasing them for our drinks, as it was unclear if the order had been processed. In the end I had to personally get up ask for the waiter to bring us the bill, as she was never looking our way (and we were sitting in the middle of the restaurant, us and only another table remaining). Oh and they charged us 12.5% service charge for being horrible, but by the time our bill finally arrived it was already too late to pick up a fight with them. Unless they do something about improving their service, this place won't last. At it will be a shame, as food & drinks are actually very good.
The experience was so so overall. Service ok, we had a small lunch and no drinks and felt that the staff were hovering over us to clear plates like they wanted us out quickly. Not a huge choice for vegetarians/vegans. Cool decor. Can't comment on drinks choices.
I used to love breddos with a passion since they were at dinerama few years ago, in Old st and even went to the opening for Kingly st restaurant. Unfortunately, the last time I went I was disappointed to see that their tacos are not the same as they are much smaller. My favourite chicken taco is half the portion as it used to be, both the tortilla and the chicken and the quality is not the same. So sad to see how this place is going down :(. And they never got the awesome jalapeño burger on the menu....very sad!
Over all the food was good but essentially it wasn't worth the price. The design of the space was great, loved the attention to detail. Cocktails we're very good. The staff were welcoming. I would recommend the place for people to try and make their own decision , but don't surprised at the large bill.
