We were not pre-advised that our table would be outside in the courtyard. It was a cold September’s evening and we had booked for 9pm. We were frozen by the time we finished our meal and owing to condensation from the awning above our heads, my left arm was continually “rained” on. It was not a pleasant experience which was a pity, as the food & service were very good.

I suppose perhaps lockdown has had an affect but I would say that the portions had gotten noticeably smaller and one of the meals not as good as it was.

Specifically the Mussels starter and the Scallops. I got 8 mussels in a rather tasty sauce-though compared to past times I've eaten this here where you got a large bowl, it was somewhat unsatisfactory. The Scallop dish consisted of 2 small scallops hidden in a cheap to make potatoey sauce. This experience may be result of ordering off the Early Bird, usually I would go a la carte, but it was markedly different and disappointing (and it wasnt THAT cheap).

There was also an issue of timing with desert, half our orders arrived good 15 minutes after the other half, though I do think this was really down to an exceptional occurrence, timing throughout the meal being otherwise perfect.

Staff here are always lovely and accommodating &the ambience excellent. I do believe the food standard will return to its previously wonderful standard (hopefully sooner rather than later!)

As always Bresson is a delight. I had the mussels, and although the serving was small, they were delicious and the cooking liquid lovely to mop up with some of the tasty brown bread. My main course was the scallops which I should not have selected but had to because I find them so good. Overall, a lovely dinner, washed down with a nicely chilled white wine.

After eating here the previous week we returned at 6pm on Friday with our Daughter. Table near the pass and noise level higher.bit dark down there. Service very attentive and food nice but be prepared for smallish portions. 3 courses done in 65 mins so a bit rushed. Price ok for what we got. Think I might wait a while before returning.

We were looking forward to eating here but we were underwhelmed. We both had french onion soup that had an overriding taste of tarragon, whilst not unpleasant, was unexpected. My chicken arrived pink and had to be sent back so my husband ate his dinner alone. Staff were apologetic about this and did not charge for my main course. My chicken was very tasty second time around. Lemon tart was lovely. Accidents happen and we were unlucky. Staff were nice and we left a tip. However, I feel this restaurant is overpriced for the quality on offer.

Bresson is my neighbourhood favourite. This was my first time there since Covid restrictions came in to effect and I was very pleasantly surprised. They manage a delicate balance between strict adherence to Public Helath Guidelines and retaining the warmth, lovely service and excellent food that they have always delivered.
I had a wonderful experience with friends, all the more special because of our current circumstances.
I will definitely be back and highly recommend for anyone.

Waiting staff attentive and friendly, except nobody enquired if our food was satisfactory during meal. Value for money good. Good selection of drinks. Nice outdoor yard area with heaters for those who wish to brave the unpredictable Irish weather. Food generally good, although steak overdone and not the most tender of cuts.

Had an amazing lunch there, three courses with wine and coffee afterwards. All courses were delicious and I was definitely full afterwards. The waiters were very attentive and the atmosphere was great, even just for lunch. We had a voucher so not sure if I would've liked to pay €30 for the set menu plus wine plus coffee but that's just my personal opinion, otherwise I think two courses for around €24 are a great deal for what you get! Great area, atmosphere and deal to be fair!

Part of the great restaurant scene in Monkstown. Service excellent and food is top notch. You can eat light or big here. French classics with a twist, excellent bar and good wine list. Professional service during these odd times and we never felt uncomfortable at any time. Well done guys.

We've been here several times and always excellent food and service, but on this occasion we were disappointed. Food and service was excellent as always and at the end of the meal offered desert and opted instead for a glass of wine. Moments later a person whom we gathered was a manager approached our table and said we needed to be gone by 11pm, this would have given us 10 minutes at this stage! I noticed the restaurant was still very busy and asked if this applied to everyone and told it would be. When we mentioned that our order for wine had been taken less than 5 minutes earlier, the Manager said we should have been informed of the closing time by our waiter (which we had not). Another member of Staff came over to apologise on behalf of the Restaurant, acknowledged knowing us from previous visits and while sympathetic with our treatment seemed disinterested. Front of house is as important as the food and with this particular individual as a manager Bresson are doing themselves no favours and we will not be returning while they are still employed.
