We were due to head to Ranelagh on Saturday evening last. Unfortunately, due to a sick child issue, we had to call to cancel our 'beer and nachos' planned casual dinner. Once baby was settled (an hour and a half later) we decided to stroll to Monkstown Crescent to see what we could get to eat at 9pm. Prior to leaving we googled Bresson and saw that a few slots had opened up on Open Table. We had an amazing meal - Chicken dish with a steak frites dish. Far better than our original plan. The staff were busy but very accommodating and professional, the food was perfectly presented and delivered efficiently to our table. We opted to have a main course and a dessert (creme brulee and Trifle) with tea afterwards. We had a lovely bottle of Riesling (which is also available as a house glass) and then adjourned (by choice) to the courtyard for post dinner drink. We will be back to Bresson and fully intend to work through the rest of the menu over time. We both had food jealousy looking at the fish dishes in the vicinity. It is clear that the place is well liked/loved by the other diners and the ambience is really excellent. It is clear that there are possible four places in the restaurant to be seated, so a place for everyone. We were delighted to be accommodated as we were so late in the evening for what we know to be a busy restaurant. Well done to the staff, front and back of house. It's definitely a class act and worth visiting.
I was with my elderly parents. The staff were attentive and kind. That was greatly appreciated. I think they may visit themselves now. Food was also good and the atmosphere strikes a lot of good notes.
Really enjoyed our evening in Bresson. Service was excellent, food was beautiful & delicious. The atmosphere is just right & the decor is very reminiscent of a French bistro (which I presume is what they were aiming for). Lovely attention to the details, in terms of menus, cards, etc. We had a lovely waitress who was working her first night there but certainly didn't seem like first night as wait staff as she was very friendly & professional.
I had a dinner with my girlfriend in Bresson and all what I can say is that is one of the best restaurants in Dublin. Great easygoing and professional staff. Place looks cozy and very nice; and food is fantastic, well presesnted and tasty. You don’t get to often places where everything is absolutely perfect.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The early bird option and price must be the best value out there! Really enjoyable.
Outstanding food in a comfortable and well-lit room, look forward to my next food.
Super food with the starters being a particular highlight carb brûlée is excellent. Will be back
Initially waited for order to be taken.
Starters were fine.
Sat with starter plates for ten to fifteen mins after we finished.
Waited again ten to fifteen for mains which had been under lights somewhere.
Ring of grease on plate from pork belly.
Coquiills jaques was a mess.
Slow service. Poor quality.
Food was absolutely fabulous, and worth the pricetag. Service needs work.
A welcome addition to the neighbourhood.
Conor and his team have gotten it right. Really well executed food, lovely atmosphere and superb service.
Food, wine and service were excellent. My food order was wrong though, I ordered steak and frites but got steak and potatoes. But all good and I will be back again!
This is a delighted restaurant with quality food at reasonable prices. We had a really enjoyable evening.
A lovely meal for 2, food lovely, I consider it a special occasion restaurant as opposed to “everyday”. Attentive service, if a little quick on the good delivery. Soupe à l’oignon fabulous.
I’ve had lunch and dinner about three times In Bresson and every time has been superb. Great food, well prepared and cooked with excellent service. A treat
Best lunch I've had in a long time. Lovely, friendly service.
Food and wine was fantastic. Staff very friendly. Had to wait at the bar for a while before being seated but not too long. Highly recommend.
Lunch with family, food was delicious, service excellent and the menu was very reasonably priced.
Very high quality good. Comgofor table seating. Great value and attentive staff
I really liked the cosy feel of the restaurant. The salmon/ crab starter was delicious and my rare striploin was as tasty as they come ! I felt the wine list was pricey ( and maybe pretentious ) with very little under
Good French food, good service, very impressive wine list by the glass !!
Excellent food. The mini Seafood Cocktail is not small - actually very generous.
The fillet steak was excellent - really melt in the mouth.
Most tables were full and there was a good atmosphere.
Really good restaurant, definitely a little pricey but worth it for a an occasion. Steak supplement on the early bird was well worth the extra - was excellent.
We took my wife's mother to Bresson for lunch on Christmas Eve. It was a fixed price 3 course menu. We all really enjoyed the food and we're able to eat all 3 courses and not feel too full. The restaurant has a really friendly staff which helps make it feel really welcoming. I'd strongly recommend Bresson to anyone who appreciates good food.
Great atmosphere, good service and wonderful food so what more could you ask for!
Very good. Had a sense (from reputation) thats it would be pricey but it wasnt too bad at all. Only compliant is that the service is a little quick. We had to ask them to slow down after the starter arrived.
From the time we arrived at Bresson we were greeted warmly and taken care of.
There is a relaxed feel about the restaurant but the service is perfect.
The food is fabulous - everyone's dishes were gorgeous and while we were all delighted with our own choices there was a lot of food envy with what the others got as everything was so lovely.
Could not fault the service - the team that were looking after us were knowledgeable, friendly and very professional
Have been raving about Bresson since I ate there - highly recommend!
The early bird menu was superb, had great tast and the accompanying chosen wine matched the dishes beautifully. Staff attention to service very good.
Great lunch beautiful food.attentive service.perfect for celebration or quiet dinner.
Dined on a Sunday evening from the early bird menu. Starter and main were excellent but the "dark" chocolate dessert was not that dark. Overall it was a pleasant experience and will be back.
The noise level was something else for about 30 minutes. A group of about 6 women who had finished their meal decided to stand at the bar for a drink. There was very little space behind my seat which meant it was being hit off quite a bit by staff and customers. Staff seemed quite annoyed by the group but didn't do anything about them. A manager did say to us once that the group will be moving on soon but they didn't move for about another 20 minutes. While the steak was very good, it was hard to enjoy it as my girlfriend and I couldn't hear each other and I had people hitting my seat numerous times. The receipt was missing the bottle of wine we had so I told one of the staff and he then gave me the correct receipt. For the discomfort we had to suffer maybe it could have been on the house but that's not a big deal. It's a pity as it's a local restaurant with good food and very convenient but because of the setup with the bar and the reluctance to act on situations like the one we had (the people at the table next to us felt the same way we did) it's probably somewhere I won't visit again.
Amazing food, drinks and service... It has an outstanding vibe which strikes a cord and you keep on coming back again. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it's totally worth it!
Very nice lunch!
Great food - good ambience and good service. However our waitress was reluctant to give us extra petits fours with our coffee which I thought was ridiculous considering the amount of money we spent there.
Excellent food and attentive service - will return.
Restaurant struggled to cope with the Saturday evening volume of patrons. Long delay for our main course., and potato not quite properly cooked. Food was average and seemed poor value. We were placed upstairs which had an inferior atmosphere to downstairs. My seating with the overhead lighting was such that my dinner plate was in complete shadow.
Really enjoyable meal, food was delicious and the restaurant was extremely comfortable with a nice ambiance
Good french food, rather rich, but very tasty. They have a good selection of wine by the glass. Good staff and ambiance. It's a tad expensive, but I would recommend to anyone to try.
Read lots of very favourable reviews but it was a disappointment. Food was very bland, service was friendly but inconsistent.
Our first visit to Bresson was for Sunday Lunch to celebrate a birthday. Really friendly from welcome to farewell. Excellent food. Good wine-list. No negatives at all. Just a nice relaxing Sunday Lunch.
this was a very good experience. Our first time. excellent food choice. Pleasant staff. will be back.
