Brick Lane Curry House
Delicious food, great outdoor space
We didn't realize the restaurant had recently moved and had no alcohol licence (BYOB).
We didn't have to wait for our table (promptly seated)
As a part of six, we ordered a varied selection of appetizers entrees from vegan to lamb. The pankora was good. The onion bahji was a bit sorry in the middle. The lamb and veggie samosas were good. The chutney portions were sparse. The vegan daal option was very flavorful. The green curry chicken was excellent. The lamb gravy was very good but the meat was a bit tough.. The accompanying rice was marginal.
An incredibly delicious meal. My soul was ablaze, stoked by the well seasoned food.
Relaxed place for casual but delicious Indian cuisine. I
An undiscovered gem
First time here, there was few customers. Quiet, clean, had butter chicken masala. It was delicious, very tasty, chicken was tender., similar to the one I had at Bombay Club in DC. Decent price. You just have to BYOD..the site was misleading, we could have bring wine if we have known. We settled for can of soda. Overall, great food.
Simply delicious. I’ve paid considerable more for the same quality. I had the lamb madras, garlic naan and a side of rice. Full of flavor.
The service could not have been better throughout the whole evening. Highly recommend.
As usual this restaurant never disappoints! I've been eating here for years and without a question it is the best Indian restaurant in the neighbor. Try it ….you love it!!!
Onion Bhajee appetizer was not cooked properly but the main entrees were good
Ambience informal good
Had fun taking friends to Brick Lane Curry house. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, would recommend this place. Managed to survive Phaal Challenge.
We love this place, food portions are huge and all was really tasty
Too much like a cafeteria; lacked ambiance. Too much light.
No substitutions were available, which is important.
Food was way too spicy. If you shun rice, you’re out of luck.
Portions were decent. No okra veg dish available, which was disappointing. Expensive for Indian.
Solid BYOB + tasty curry offering.
Nice food, great service!
Solid. New location. Vindaloo is tasty and not as spicy as I was expecting.
Informal and friendly -- enjoyed our table by the window. Excellent tandoori and curry (Goan). Perfect for dinner before a show at LaMama around the corner.
Food was good not great. Flavor profiles from seasoning was where they should be but the meat was not right. Chicken Biriyani use boneless cubed white meat which was dry. The Raita helped a lot and enhanced the dish. Lamb in the curry was a little tough (not braised long enough at low temp)and dry also as the cut used was leg/butt not shoulder or shank. The cauliflower Gobi appetizer was very good. Service was fine but kitchen seemed slow. Was not busy when we went
Fantastic food. Very Clean & lovely staff. Would visit again when in NYC.
This was a great restaurant. Service was good and the waiters were very nice. Our waiter recommended some dishes since my sister and I were undecided. I love it when waiters do that!
It had just moved one block south to its new location and Open Table didn't have the correct address (79 Second Ave.) but it was great food, pleasant decor and atmosphere and friendly staff. Perfect pre-theater for LaMama or NYTW
It was good, I just wished they opened on time because my guests and I were waiting (we weren’t sure if the restaurant was even open). But the food was great!
We loved the choices for curry dishes, more than at any other Indian place we know. Both our meals were delicious.
For years this has been our favorite Indian restaurant! Excellent food and service always. The menu provides many selections and options!
Excellent food, including Phaal Curry Challenge. Certificate arrived home before us! Excellent service. Highly recommend.
Absolutely awful. Had a very surly waitress, who felt like she was doing us a favor. I was sooooo excited about going because I’m from England & am familiar with Brick Lane. The meal was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Will not go back or refer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our curry dishes. There was a great selection and the portions were great for the price. It was perfect for Pre-theater dinner when attending New York Theater Workshop productions!
Waiter was super nice and very informative. Great food!!
I had a great experience at Brick Lane Curry! The food was great and the service was impeccable. I definitely recommend and will be back!
We were in a bit of a rush or we would have tried more things on the menu. Good food, very courteous service. Comfortable booth. Would go again.
Our second visit here. Food and service excellent! We'll be back!
We were looking for a good Indian restaurant with creative cuisine using traditional spices, etc. This was not it. The dishes were drowning in tomato based sauce and the spices were Indistinguishable. A drunken patron at the bar was loud and obnoxious, and was allowed to stay (and continue to drink) even though he was disruptive to other diners. We were forced to make a late reservation because availability, but upon arrival 15 minutes early found the restaurant mostly empty.
Great food and well looked after! Very Attentive and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu to give us some great recommendations! I Definitely would come back.
This was our first time at this restaurant. I ordered a curry dish and my friend ordered the Gobi dish. We both had brown rice. The food was delicious, the service was very good and we will definitely return when we're next in the neighborhood.
The food was great and filling, service was prompt, and ambiance couldn't have been better.
Friendly, helpful service; delicious food with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. Great spot for a family get-together.
I definitely recommend this place. We had Lassuni Gobi, Methi Salmon and Lamb Korma. All delicious snd reasonably priced.
It was alright but the food wasn't outstanding. Great for a late night Indian food craving. Good naan and good service.
Service/waiter was disinterested. I paid $50 for average food and service that was non-existent. I wasn't expecting authentic Indian cuisine, but, a bit of effort would have been nice. And then of course I felt forced to leave a tip because I didn't want to come across as rude.
The cheap $4 pizza would have been a better choice.
Cool! Food was great and adorable. Service was okay.
