Fantastic service and still a great experience with safety measures in place. But it's the food that is truly outstanding here, it never disappoints!
An excellent meal in good atmosphere and relaxed setting.
Always consistent good value meals.
Wonderful safe dining experience with friends just before close of business before Lockdown no. 2. Good luck Alvin and team and hope to see you bouncing back in December!
Amazing food, pie was the best. Service was great!
Lovely birthday meal with family
Very good food but service quite slow. Luckily we weren’t in a rush otherwise would have been more frustrating. Great wine list and cozy atmosphere.
Good atmosphere with excellent food and brilliant service.
Lovely food - venison pie and duck. Great service. A bit pricy but there you go.
Excellent food, excellent service, highly recommended
Incredible food and very good dairy free/vegan options! Highly recommend for a cosy meal.
Excellent, staff, food, atmosphere, we have always enjoyed good food there over recent years, its excellence continues.
Just so sad that due to the November firebreak that they will have to close again. They have done an excellent job of getting back on their feet so successfully after lockdown.
Hopefully they will open again soon, we will certainly look forward to returning.
All started well and food and drink all fine, got a bit forgotten about at end so went to bar to ask for bill, moaned a bit about poor service, cancelled coffee, paid a rather frosty faced manager and left. Would revisit as any one can have an off day.
Excellent food and service in convivial surroundings
Sunday roast is delicious. This time we had dessert, which was equally yummy. Would highly recommend.
This is a favourite of ours and have returned a few times in recent months.
This time was very busy at 4.30pm and the tables next to us were very loud and we could just about hear each other at one point.
Lovely looking pub and pretty location with good walks nearby. Service was excellent, but food was so-so and we were unfortunate enough to be dining next to a very loud table containing some quite obnoxious characters! Nevermind. Thought more could have been done to ask them to quieten down.
We had a lovely meal in very pleasant surroundings. We felt very safe and the only downside was a noisy table close by. That said they were just enjoying themselves but rather noisily at times.
Always a pleasure to dine here on any occasion & they do a wonderful Sunday lunch with a great choice of roasts.
Found the vegetables on the roast dinner to be under cooked and the price was expensive as it was nothing exceptionall
Very lovely afternoon pleasant atmosphere good food nice wine and excellent service.
Fish cake to start, which was lovely, and then the mushrooms which is my favourite, loved it all.
Really enjoyed our meal great service just a shame we could not have a pudding due to the government’s 10.00 kick out.
Great atmosphere, looking forward to a return visit. They were great at helping out with getting a taxi as phone reception isn't great in the area.
My husband was celebrating his 60th birthday and having looked at several venues we decided to book the Bricklayers Arms.
We were not disappointed. The food was first class, beautifully presented and tasted delicious!
The overall service was excellent.
Our waitress Kristy was really helpful, attentive and professional and really helped make our evening such a wonderful experience.
We will definitely be returning.
Always enjoy the Bricklayers and again they did no disappoint. First class food and the wine list is also a highlight.
Excellent mains - the duck and tender shoulder of pork were excellently cooked and tasted magnificent. The starters and puddings also first class.
My husband and I went here for lunch on our wedding anniversary and it could not have been better. The food choice and quality, the service, honestly just the best. We felt very safe in terms of COVID too (it was a Tuesday lunch and it was reasonably busy), other customers were spread out well.
Wonderful food and excellent service.
Perfect Sunday lunch. All staff really friendly & accommodating and food delicious. Great atmosphere.
Excellent Sunday Roast
Very attentive service and good value for money
Lovely food in a lovely pub. It's covid-secure too. All staff wear face masks or face visas, there's hand gel on entry into the pub etc.
Best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time. Generous portions, perfectly cooked veg, and crispy roasties. Confit duck leg as good as any I have had in France, and am still dreaming about the triple chocolate mousse with salted caramel icecream.
Can’t recommend enough, lots of soft furnishings so keep noise level down, waitress extremely helpful and pleasant and food was delicious.
Delicious food with plenty of menu option. Really good service and a great wine list, would definitely recommend and looking forward to returning
