Picturesque venue, good menu with a selection of pub classics and good quality seafood too. Enjoyed a Sunday meal with family. Standard very high and food well presented.
Good food and wine, service very erratic but friendly
Always great food and service.
Beautifully cooked Sea bass/Halibut.
Lemon sole delicate and flavoursome
Waiting staff friendly and attentive.
Lovely lunch all round.
The Bricklayers Arms is a truly fantastic 'Free House / Restaurant' - it is wonderful. -
Spectacular and beautiful building/venue; excellent food and outstanding service.
The one small improvement for consideration would be to serve the food on hot or even 'warm' plates. We sat outside (for lunch) on a beautiful and warm day, which was absolutely lovely; however, the food got cold quite quickly. However, I have no hesitation at all in firmly and highly recommending, the 'Bricklayers Arms' and certainly plan to return. - Thank you.
We had a lovely meal here with 2 friends. Sat inside. Felt safe. Great food and wine. Would come back. Would recommend!
Excellent food in a very picturesque country pub, not cheap, so we save it for special occasions.
All our meals were really good, particularly the fish plate starter
Great food and delightful service in a beautiful country setting
Was a nice pub with friendly service. I would have liked more on the menu but what I had was really good.
A real delight to be sitting outside on a September day mid Covid & feel that it was normal .
The service was a bit slow, but not enough to complain about. They were very busy in the garden.
Starters were great and the Mains OK, except the Halibut seriously overcooked. I didn’t send it back because we were already running out of time. We sat down at 12.45, got our Starters at 1.20 and then had to ask where our Mains were at 1.55 Cost just over £40 per head including Beers. Wines were pricey for a country pub/ restaurant.
Having said all that we will probably go again.
Lovely place and friendly helpful staff. Food was very over priced and some main dishes were tasteless.
Wonderful food, lovely setting and great staff. Would 100% recommend.
Lovely sunny day eat in the garden, staff very helpful and friendly, also efficient, would recommend the whole establishment. Thank you.
Delicious lunch in the garden. Food and service was outstanding.
I thought this menu is extremely overpriced for what is a pub. This is not London! Chicken pie was not very tasty
We had a lovely birthday meal for my stepson. The waitress was great and the food was too!
Beautiful country pub, great menu and excellent service. Top notch all round
Very enjoyable. Staff were very accommodating of our dietary requirements (excellent gluten free bread and rolls!). Will definitely return
This was first visit, following a friend's recommendation, and I was impressed with the setting, food and service. I'll certainly come back.
We were treated to a memorable birthday lunch with good food, friendly and attentive staff and a picturesque setting. Even the weather was well organised!
Many thanks for an enjoyable experience.
Excellent venue for Sunday lunch and very good value when compared to others. Service was good despite being very busy. Will go again and highly recommend
Lovely interesting menu with beautifully cooked food. Great wine menu.
By far the best restaurant around by miles. If we can, I dont think we will bother going anywhere else for a long time to come. They can't do enough for you. Very considered. Gluten Free options, know their food and ingredients. Just love this place
Best food in the area by a long way. Very good all round.
Delicious food and great service. They have given a lot of thought to making the place 'Covd secure' but it didn't feel obtrusive.
Lovely as always. Appropriate covid safety measures in place. Occupied tables well spaced. Super food in lovely setting.
As good a pub dining experience as you are likely to find!
Beautiful country pub in a peaceful and picturesque location. Great outdoor area (where we ate). Service was very attentive and the food very yummy! It was our first time here and we’d certainly love to come back again.
Eat here often. Brilliant as ever, delicious food, lots of it, excellent service
t was easy to book a table on line through Bookatable. A friendly welcome at the door from a gentleman whom I assumed was the proprietor. Tables well spaced out and a pleasant ambience. Some great ales on tap. A menu on which there were so many dishes I fancied that it was hard to make a choice but I settled for the mushroom feullitte, which is one of their "signature dishes", followed by the sea bream. Both were excellent, served on properly hot plates. A great selection of reasonable value wines by the glass. Our servers were professional, friendly and helpful. The only shame is that this place is awkward to get through, involving a drive through some narrow lanes, although the car park is adequate.
always enjoyable to come to the Bricklayers and have done for many years.
The Bricklayers Arms is in a charming small hamlet about ten minutes away from the M25 but a world away from traffic noise and hustle and bustle. The pub is ivy clad. It was sunny enough to eat outside . Menu not huge but appetising. Sauces on both the halibut and duck dishes were beautiful. Not cheap but for a special treat worth the journey
four of us dined outside on a Saturday afternoon and had the most wonderful meal. The chicken live parfait was wonderful as was the tomato soup. The fish and chips were crisp and delicious but the star of the show was the cannon of lamb. The service was very attentive and helpful, all with a smile. I cannot wait to return to this wonderful pub in the beautiful hertfordshire countryside.
Great location and great food, good stop after a country walk
Great service, amazing food!
